Born and raised in the south, great-great grandson of a soldier in Co. D, 37th Ga. I'm retired USAF veteran and owner/operator of Aircorpcamo Tactical LLC, Boiling Springs, SC. I need help getting the word out about my store because with everything costing 46% more than it did in 2020, I can't afford to pay for the outrageous cost of advertising and marketing. Thanks to my patrons that keep me open.

Grest posts by fellow Vets. Myself, I'm prior service Navy and Retired Army. Both my Great Grand Pa's were Confederate "Legs". GGPA Buck served with Co. G, 16th Alabama Infantry Regiment, he served all the way to surrender at Appomattox Court House. GGPA Oliver served with Co. E, 2nd Mississippi Infantry Regiment. He was captured the first day of Gettysburgs at the Railroad Cut Fight with the 6th Wisconsin Infantry Regiment, part of the Iron Brigade. It always kinda bugged me Oliver was captured, but when I found that the 2nd Mississippi was present at Picketts Charge, I realized he most likely would have perished in that desperate attempt.

This author does not need to apologize about playing the music. For one it is historical music. Second, in some way it is patriotic. Most people do not know the actual causes of the Civil war or a lot about it unless they studied the civil war. People assume it is just caused by slavery, but it really came down to several factors including state rights and representation. That does not mean slavery was not a factor, but not as big as other factors. Most of the northern state issues were being addressed, while the south had very little representation so laws kept being passed for the North. Lincoln did not exactly threat to end slavery with his election, that was not until the emaciation proclamation. Lincoln was basically using everything in his tool belt to win the war including the usage of slaves. Little did people know that Lincoln acted a little like a dictator during the war. He jailed anti-war protestors until the war ended because he was afraid it would demoralize the union army. Other interesting facts... 3D cameras were invented during the civil war so you can see 3d images of canons. One of the largest stock piles of Bismuth subsalicylate (Main Pepto Bismoth ingredient.) near one of the prisons where people died of dysentery. I believe it was near Anderson prison. Stonewall Jackson did not die of a gunshot, it was infection from having his limb cut off. Bacteria and viruses were not really understood at the time, so infection killed a large number of wounded soldiers during this time. The irony to all this is Civil war is the United States at this time is in a similar situation where half the country does not feel represented and along with states rights. Now, it is between Biden and Trump. Biden is pushing very liberal agenda items like Transgender care and open border policies and Trump is trying to put things back the traditional ways things were before Biden was elected that includes shutting down the border crossing and deportation and open the oil drilling back up. The oil drilling will increase supply that will decrease the price of fuel that will decrease the cost of transportation and that will ultimately pass back into the consumer wallets, while Biden is limiting oil drilling leases for sale. I read news from conservative and liberal American news, along with news from other countries to get the big picture of what is going on in our chaotic world. I've noticed there is alot of lying going on with American liberal media especially with the Open Southern border. We live in interesting times ........

I was conceived in the South but born in upstate New York. If I had been born a little farther north, I would have qualified for dual citizenship. My folks were both US citizens. I love the music of the era. As a historical reenactor of the mid-nineteenth century, I enjoy the music of the period. One of my ancestors was a Confederate soldier. He settled in Missouri after the Civil War. He joined up with a couple of brothers, Jesse and Frank. He had left to form his own gang before the James-Younger gang made their ill-fated trip to Northfield, MN, in 1876. His reprieve didn't last long, as he met his demise at the end of a rope for riding and selling other people's horses. He had also racked a long list of other crimes.

Easy. The founders won and established a new country called the United States and the Southerners who formed the Confederacy lost. As in most civil war’s it’s a revolution if the rebellion wins and an insurrection if they lose. Also there was no foreign recognition or interference with the Confederacy as there had been in the American Revolution with France and to a lesser degree Spain. During the American Revolution, and for a while after, such as the Chesapeake Bay Incident, the British considered the Americans misguided “traitors” but again they won and became a recognized country so that’s why the founders are not considered traitors like the traitorous Confederacy.

The South was standing on the actual rights of the Constitution. Something the Lincolnites wanted to stomp on, had nothing to do with slavery, that was already on its way out, and if not for the federals northern aggression would have ended peacefully. Most southerners over 90% of them didn't even own slaves, only the elite, which was 6-9% of the ppl. Northerners owned slaves also, and even freed black men enslaved their own. Research Anthony Johnson the first known black man to own a slave. No it was over states rights and wanting to keep America free as the Constitution lays out. But the big shots in DC wanted federalism, and that's what we see today, slowly but surely stripping our rights away. So the war on the Southern side was as patriotic as it gets, except for the wars against Britain.
