1/6 Scale Replitronics Woodgrain Change Machine
Unboxing and admiring the Replitronics USB Charge Machine by New Wave Toys! It's a tiny little recreation of the classic Rowe BC-35 bill changer seen in arcades back in the day. And it's delightful.

My arcade, Pinballz Arcade in Austin, TX, has six of those original change machines. Along with nearly 100 pinball machines, nearly 120 classic cabinet arcades, and another 200+ modern arcades. You should stop by next time you're in town. We're the Lake Creek location.

Wow, impressive
Some people do miniature trains, with mini worlds for them to choo-choo around. Clint's version will be a 1/6th scale arcade, and I absolutely love that.

not to mention Mini scale snackbar
I also kickstarted these and got this plus the Walkman looking mobile charger. Couldn’t help myself. Yes, the carpet was a free, extra add on. If I recall correctly they had the light change color initially and then right at the end they were trying to get them into production and they found they could do a multicolor LED _or_ an orangey looking one. The multicolor one couldn’t quite replicate the color properly. So they opted for accurate nostalgia over multiple colors.
That base pad looks just like the carpet of the theater I used to go to as a kid. And yes it had an arcade! Sadly, its a parking lot now. Thanks for keeping up with the great stuff Clint. You keeping me sane during this crazy time.

The movie theaters still around where I live which is weird because you can just stream everything but the arcade is gone and it is now a Japanese restaurant where all the tables are u-shaped and in the center is a cooking thing and a person comes out and like flips food around on it as if he's like a magician or some kind of performer and then when he thinks the food is cooked he flips it onto your plate I keep saying he but some of the people are girls

Got me thinking about the claim that casino carpeting is barf inducing to hide actual barf.
There's no way I could justify spending money on things like these (ESPECIALLY nowadays), but man I'm glad they exist, and I wish I could buy them.

Every change machine i ever saw back in the day looked “a little rough” 😄 And that pad is spot-on arcade carpet style, minus all the gum, stains and cigarette burns 👍🏽
@artchic528

"A little rough" would be a generous statement. Most looked like they went through a war. Probably from less than "honorable" patrons trying to finagle them to give them extra tokens/change.
This is the most unnecessary product ever made.... And I love it.
"Ooh, that's a button!" accurately describes this channel to a T.
Now you just need a set of 1/6 scale teenagers from the 80's that can play the machines and party and stuff -- it will be like "The Sims Arcade Hall"

I love LGR Blerbs. Thanks for the content during these dark quarantine times
My grandmother would collect tiny houses and figurine people. Every year she could put them together to make a little German style Christmas Village. And now I'm seeing you collect tiny arcade machines. Congratulations you have the same hobby as my grandmother.
That's actually a pretty cool way to make the mini change machine a useful addition to that collection.
It took me a while to realize... In a regular arcade, the change machine allows you to play the games by giving tokens, so this 'charge machine' lets you play the games by plugging them in... I'm squealing for real because that's SUCH A CUTE THING OMG
Holy crap seeing that miniature coin machine gave me retro flashbacks to being a kid in an arcade back in the 90s. I completely forgot about those machines until I saw this. That's pretty awesome.
Indeed a classic, local bowling alley maintains an arcade section in the back, complete with that exact change machine.
This is such a great idea. A change charging port
That's too cool for school! Love the detail with the tiny gold coins. It really does look like the real thing. It does bring back memories. Stay healthy and safe!
I'm a wee disappointed you didn't stick one of the tokens on Centipede's glass to say "I've got next!"

Man, I haven't seen that change machine in a long time. I love it.
You mentioned there's a Centipede one and I'm all "Hm?!" Then, it popped on the screen and I looked in awe for the rest of the video. Centipede is my favorite arcade game and I wanna own one of those cabinets!
Thanks for keeping us entertained through all of this mess. You're a blessing to us all.
Perhaps that little yellow paper, was so you can write, "Out of Order", on it. Remember back in the day? Those things were ALWAYS out of order =)

How old are you?!? Just kidding I remember a cigarette machine at a local restaurant in front of an apartment complex.
So cool! Ah memories of those change machines. And the pad looks like classic arcade-style carpet
That there is serious 1/6th scale nostalgia right there. Just needs a 1/6 scale Clint figure to go with the whole thing.
Another great blerb Clint! This charge machine is definitely hip and vintage at the same time! Looking forward to more blerbs like this! More power and God bless from the Philippines!
It's like those Christmas villages our moms used to have when we were kids but now it's recreating an arcade.
Those are really cute. Those little orange LED lights add so much flavor.
Wow! That change machine brings back SOOOOO many memories. I don't know about laundry mats, it was all about the arcades for me.
Thanks for your entertaining distraction! Highly appreciated! 👌 Greetings from Spain!
Very cool! Mine should arrive tomorrow. I ordered 3 base pads as well. I am anxiously awaiting my Dragons Lair arcade cabinet to accompany my Tempest and Centipede cabinets. Also looking forward to pre ordering Asteroids!! 👍🏼
The change machine is so cool,it reminds me of so many happy memories.
Way too cool. Gotta get one of these for my garage setup. Keep up the cool stuff!
_"Man, I'm a big fan of miniatures in case you can't tell."_ Clint, and also *Brainiac*
Blacklights plus radical carpets and suddenly I can smell the arcade and hear the pinging of pinball machines and ski balls rolling down their aisles.
I wonder if that base pads design is a replica of early 80's arcade carpet? Edit.. looked it up... IT IS IT IS How very cool
@ParanormalNewsToday

Yup, it's period. That was exactly the same pattern that was used in the arcade I grew up with.
Now that's just nifty: plug several of the mini arcade machines into the change machine as a power hub. It actually does something practical rather than being just a visual-only accessory. The arcade carpet pad is a nice touch, but more of it is definitely a necessity. Get one of those mini wall mounted LED lights as a black light pointed down, and it would look magnificent on a shelf, but only turn it on for presentation.
Flexing that super nice box cutter. 😎👍🏼
I think I like this channel more than the regular one.
I see these LGR Blerbs as a kind of temporary replacement for LGR Thrifts. No thrifting can happen, but online buying of unusual items still can. :D
This channel was a brilliant idea.
When will part 2/6 be released?

I laughed far more than I probably should have at that joke.
At Knoebels Amusement Park here in Pennsylvania they still use those change machines in the arcade. All the other arcades around here are gone so it's cool to see them still being used.
I find it so fascinating that in the 21st Century, you can have a tiny replica of an arcade game. In the early 80s when the arcade games were really in arcades, you couldn't fit a hi-res screen and electronics to run the actual arcade game ROM in a tabletop case like that. They only had handheld games with an array of LED's that blink to more or less play out the concept of the game. So kids could play Pac-man, but it didn't really look like the arcade game. Now, you can even do Dragon's Lair in a little replica, because full-motion video can be done with tiny microchips and a tiny flat-screen LCD display.
OMG, those Centipede sounds just flooded my brain with nostalgia particles 😌
Eee, that is beautiful and amazing. And yes, my laundromat still has one of these.
You're going to need a heck of a lot more of those carpet mats.

K9TheFirst1 that change machine toy remembered me of my arcade I use to go to when I was 9 in 1993 they had the same machine cool it’s a toy👍
When I saw the thumbnail I thought you bought a legitimate change machine and the first thought that ran through my head was “Man LGR got bit by the arcade bug hard” :P
Awesome arcade staple!
I Really enjoy you videos please keep up the good content c:
Thank you for making video's now, we all need a distraction
Ok... those are cool! Now, find yourself a 1/6th scale teenager or two, to pose in front of the machines... Look forward to seeing all of the mini arcade machines! Another idea, you could scan that pad into a file and maybe get a large version printed out on some vinyl at a sign shop... 👍
Put these machines in a smoker's house to get the true retro olfactory experience!
It should have included an extra marquee to be able to switch _CHANGE_ to say _CHARGE._ And it should have been a USB Hub.
I remember these things at bowling alleys. So nostalgic 😊
That's really neat!! It really looks like the machines at an arcade in Colorado!!

Paranormal News Today I think I remember that one.
I really expected something like this to be a gimmick at a not-so-gimmick price, but at $45 (on their kickstarter) for the machine, that's not actually terrible. It's such a not-terrible price, that I want one. Pretty nice looking, and I'm glad you made a video on it. Wouldn't have known about the existence of it otherwise. Hopefully, it hits stores soon ^_^
The change machine was my favorite game at the arcade.
oof, seeing the pattern on that pad gave me a nice shot of nostalgia...thats some gooood nostalgia.
Awesome! Can't wait for the Dragon's Lair video (that would be one of my first choices for a machine!) Also, I need to get a floor rug with that pattern.
What ridiculous fun! It's so cool!
i do remember seeing these at my local roller rink and bowling allies back in the late 80's and early 90's. They take up much more floor space then the new machine at the laundry mat and where much more impressive.
oh man that carpet / base pad his the nostalgia center hard.
It’s a perfect mini replica of my local skating rink
As an aside, I *really* want to see a blerb about the Dragon's Lair replica whenever it arrives.
That carpet puts the whole set together.

Those are adorable
Looks like that arcade carpet pad has a nice tileable pattern so just get more and cover the entire mini arcade floor :)
Ha I just watched your E3 2019 video yesterday when you said you might make a video about it. It's nice you have this extra channel for small things so you don't have to make a full vid
Brings back memories working at an arcade at my local mall... sigh...
Dropping actual quarters on the carpet/under the machine is troublesome enough. Dropping those tokens must be a nightmare.
You should totally make a little 80s arcade diorama for all of them.
I'd never seen one of those change machines here in the UK back in the day. The only place I've seen them is in the Musee Mechanique in San Francisco where they have the arcade machine museum.
I love this. However, I'd also HAVE to get a tiny Bosconian machine to put next to it, to mimic they layout of the Whitehall Mall's "Space Port" arcade layout.
Their website has extra basepads, and they're on sale right now. NewWaveToys.com. I love the quality of these games! I did the Kickstarter as well for both the change machine and Dragons Lair. Had Tempest already and still need to find Centipede somewhere. Or possibly Polybius...?🤣 Love all of your channels! I think your main channel was the first I subscribed to. Thanks for all of the great videos!
These things: For anyone who can't afford and/or doesn't have room for full-size cabinets. Imagine, in 10-20 years, someone builds a 1/6 scale robot that you can control via some sort of VR headset, and then walk into a 1/6 scale arcade built with these machines and made to look like a real 80s/90s arcade. That would be super cool.
The tokens the Rowe machines dispensed in the arcades were always gold colored like the miniature tokens you have. At least in upstate NY.
Oh man. This is like the most unnecessary piece of tech I've ever seen. BUT. it's so freaking cool and makes me want to be young again and playing area 51 at the pizza shop with a film canister full of quarters that my grandpa saved up for me. Arcades are neo americana. Love that base mat too. Nice vid Clint! I get excited by proxy when you get new stuff in >:)

Also Clint if you're ever in Indianapolis (bit of a drive from NC I know) you should check the museum of miniatures in Carmel, Indiana. Super cool. You'd love it.
That's super rad
If you had old-school Joe Eye Gee 1/6 dollies (the big antique kind) you could pose them interacting with these tiny arcade machine replicas. "Hello! I am playing Centipede in Viet Nam!" "Me play you long time!"
The algorithm has brought me here. Thank you algorithm
Ground Kontrol still has one of those change machines
Before watching the whole video, I already want a side by side comparison with the Lego IBM
So was the button on the back above the fastcharge USB port not the color change button?
Wow wish they had these in 1/12 scale.
I am actually more interested in this little USB hub than the mini arcade machines.
Back in the 80s my dad used to build and sell scale houses, they had stuff like shingles on the roof and lighting with switches in each room of the house. You need a scale arcade for it
@JeffDeWitt
4 жыл бұрын
Of course these days they have all that plus tvs that work.
Awesome... this mini collectible. Yuu have nice second channel.
Is there footage of them discussing licensing with Rowe? "You want to make...what?"
Nice folding pocket box cutter knife
I think the Alladin's Castle in the local mall had the same pattern of carpet as that little mat they sent with the machine.
Im wondering what OS those mini arcades are running on. because that charging logo is used in Android and have never seen it outside of Android. That's what my charging logo looks like when my phone is off.
