Carmen Standiego, making self isolation a little easier one home at a time. I think you’re on to something!

When we were kids, my sister won a cardboard cut-out of the yellow Power Ranger. We would occasionally set it up in one of our rooms when we got dropped off for school. We knew at some point during the day mom would go into the room for something, and Trini would scare the crap out of her.

My roommate in college had a Captain Kirk stand up and we used to freak each other out by moving him around behind each other's backs. It's unnerving to look down the hall or in your closet and see an unexpected figure standing there. We also left him in front of the window at night so that a the neighbors would see a silhouette standing motionlessly looking out the blinds.

Normally I would say, "Dude, you need to get out more," but right now I have to say, "Where can I get my own cardboard person to hang out with?"

This takes me back to when i worked in retail. I put up so many of those kind of standees that I was permitted to take a few home and they are still stashed away safely...for the most part. That is a great standee to have. You can now recreate part of Home Alone. lol.

Two things I thought I would never seen in a LGR video. Cardboard Carmen and a quentin tarantino foot joke. What a time to be alive.

I did expo booth duty for ATI one year, and we had those life-size standees of the Ruby character. Someone asked for one, so I gave them an unopened one, said "here's your new girlfriend". That was fun. Didn't take one for myself. I got an action figure though.

At some point if you have this in the background of a shot you need to make it subtly wink or something just to see if anyone catches it.

Oh that bring back SO many memories. I uses to manage a small computer store in Montreal Canada. We used to receive so many of those setups and I was my self appointed task to build them. Very therapeutic. They'll last for a few weeks and get thrown to make place for a new ones. Besides, they built those things very cheaply and wouldn’t last long before being bent out of shape or damaged by customers.

I guess Clint has been feeling lonely so he needed to build a new friend.

In the short time I worked in a game shop, I had the pleasure of assembling a Wolfenstein (2009) standee

Every once in a while a standee will pop up at work. We've got a giant open plan office (>3700/40000 m²/ft²), and I'll be walking to the kitchen when nobody else is around, but there's this dude just standing there. It's super creepy.

I remember playing the Carmen Sandiego games on a Mac in junior high school. My PE teacher who also taught social studies had a bunch of Macs in his classroom and on rainy days we would play on his Macs from Carmen Sandiego to even Falcon a flight simulator didn't remember what version it was at the time. Anyhow seeing that cardboard standout brings me back to my junior high days.

I remember some pretty epic in-store displays. In the late 90's there was a 6 foot long plastic Millennium Falcon hanging from the ceiling in the local Toys R Us. Because of this video I went looking for any info on it. Apparently, it was made by Hasbro and only 700 were produced. Each one with an individually numbered brass plaque on it. 500 of those it seems were given away in a charity raffle. It's worth a pretty penny nowadays. I wonder where the one in my store ended up.
