Personally srpe99 and a cocktail time probably the brown dial silver case one
I was worried Teddy was departing from his "affordable" watch video roots so this is a welcome return to form!
Hamilton khaki, seiko presage on bracelet, and a gshock is probably ideal imo
Tissot Gentleman and Orient Kamasu. Done.

def the gentleman or the seastar.
That 556i is perfect. What a watch.
Gotta LOVE that Presage series 😍 I’m not a Seiko “fan boy” but your two picks are spot on!! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for this! Having been into watches for several years, my collection was once worth $10,000 and now it’s worth under $1,000. You really don’t need to spend a lot for a great watch.

@James Ray can I ask, any favorites of yours that you recommend?
Thanks Teddy, definitely going for the Seiko route.
Suggestion for video: best made in USA watches or best non-swiss European watches ie UK/Germany
I went with the Hamilton Khaki field as a daily driver now, absolutely spot on. Looking forward to shopping for my next dress watch.
Love your content. Thanks teddy!
You have some great videos I’ve been watching for a couple years now. Please don’t assume because someone only wants to spend $1000 one is only getting into watches though…I’ve been fascinated with watches since I was a kid in the 70s, and while I don’t have the budget of Mr Wonderful, I enjoy a great value…your videos actually prompted me to purchase my first (non-smart) watch in over 10 years, and a brand I paid no attention to, the Citizen Fugu with green dial. I’ve been wearing it for the past month, and am extremely happy with this under $500US watch. Most of my other watches are Tissot (which, I also think can’t be beat for bang for the buck), and I think this Citizen might even be a better deal. Thanks for all your videos, I’ve definitely learned a lot watching them!!
Love these more budget lists!
sometimes when i think about my watches im like man i love watches!
Just ordered my prx from you I’m super excited 🎉
Thank you for these affordable collection videos, Teddy! And yes, Seiko is the best watch brand! :D
All great options. I would totally want any of these in my collection. Would love to also, see the Hamilton Murph or even the Alpinist/baby Alpinist
A lot of nice looking watches . Week after week i become a HAMILTON fan and my second choice will be a SEIKO . After dreaming about watches from 5 k$ to 50 k$, it is difficult to come back to reality . Down to earth . Thank you so much to share your passion.
Outstanding information
Tough call for just two watches. I’d probably go Hamilton Khaki field automatic and a Seiko diver.
Great video!
The Mido looks stunning!
Good to see the Seiko love, and a little Citizen love, too. I ❤ my Citizen Orca. Great for fans of G-Shocks, and a good retort to those who think Citizen watches are boring.
The last set was fire
Casio F-91W for everyday beater and Casio MQ-24-7E for dress and casual

Same. I bought a quartz PRX that was barely worn for 250 usd, best choice of my life.
Seiko love 🧡
Hey Teddy nice video! I'd like to see your take on Seiko Prospex Night Vision Collection :)
I'd go for the Hamilton Khaki and Tissot PRX. Nice!
That Mido Multifort… gorgeous
Big fan of Sternglas - such a great brand I've never heard of!
This Mido Multifort Patrimony is beautiful.
This is my mood today. Seiko "tank" (dress), tissot gentleman (every day), dw5600 gshock (or maybe a casioak)(beater).
Honestly, these videos showcase a pretty good mentality for a beginner to think about watches: Know your budget, and then think about what purpose each piece in your collection serves. As someone who works in an office, I'd follow the "Maximizer" route: A beater like the Duro or a G-Shock, then go for something nice with the remainder of the budget.
Seiko 5 Srpe series and a King Samurai. I'm gonna go now.
Great watches mentioned. And keep up the amazing content. Always waiting for more such affordable watches video I would love to have a studio underdog watch plus a prx (maybe quartz) to fit the budget
I would go for a quartz Tissot PRX as a casual watch and a Seiko Presage Cocktail Time with a leather strap for more formal occasions.

Mr wonderful's first watch and Teddy's first watch were Tissot's and it was the brand I had on the top of my list . Bets bang for buck brand for decades.
For the perfect Seiko pair, I'd have gone one of the GMTs too, but paired it with the SSC813P1. It probably takes it a touch over the $1k
Teddy mine is the SSk05 boy seiko orange GMT and then the bulova surveyor blue. I call the combo the affordable contrast!!! Hehe hope you like my combo!
Just got my Glycine combat sub and it’s beautiful. Bronze /blue. Also have a Torgoen Small steps o😂
My personal 2 watch collection: DW5600BB & blue Tissot PRX Powermatic 80!
I didn’t hear much of the video, that Sinn 556 on your wrist was screaming “buy me” the entire time. All kidding aside great video!
The Mido Multifort Patrimony similar in looks and dimensions to VC FiftySix.
I already have a Seiko 5 sports so for me, I will choose brew matic and prx
"seiko fanboy". Lol thanks for the laugh Teddy. Lot of nice picks. I particuarly liked the Mido, and agree the Presage dials are very appealing. For me the cocktail dial might look better on a black leather strap. Agree it's sad that Seiko can't put sapphire in for that price. Their latest GMT diver series is tough to beat.
A maximizer/sci fi movie nerd duo: A Hamilton Khaki Murph + a Casio CA53w calculator watch. You get a nice dressy GADA watch with the Murph, and a quirky casual beater with the calculator watch, and they're both tied to sci fi movies.
I'd have to go micro brand I think. Lorier Falcon 3 and the Nodus sector pilot - phantom. And I believe I still have enough left over for a f91-w 🤔
Hi Teddy! Do you have the website or the pdf for the swiss watches market update by morgan stanley please? I was not able to find the 38 pages document on any website. I would really appreciate if you could share it. Thank you very much!
Imagine the adventure of being a Seiko watch designer!
Hi Teddy, how come you almost never feature the Marathon GP/officer mechanical in these lists. I ordered one from you about two years ago (it just needed strap swap out e.g. neo-vintage Haveston Canvas Series M-1944C Watch Strap and its a knock out). In Feb I walked 5th Ave and stopping in the Grand Seiko store, even the clerk there admired it saying it was neatest pieces he'd ever seen.
Would love to see a shoot out between the Tissot Powermatic 80 and the new Nivada Grenchen F77. Great video as usual Teddy.

I think a better fight is the f77 vs the CW 12. Integrated stainless steel, very similar design, almost same movements and prices. I think CW may have relegated the f77 to only the buyers looking for historical brands.
@alecjarnagin9041

@@KC-bv9kf Just became aware of the CW 12 today while listening to the latest "The Grey NATO" Podcast. Would be good to see that comparison as well. As for "I think CW may have relegated the f77 to only the buyers looking for historical brands" I guess I'd be in that category. Don't own any CW and while they look nice, I have a watch problem already. Would rather expand to another Nivada Grenchen as they have history and I just love them, but that's me.
If I went microbrand only, then I would go with the Brew Metric and the Astor & banks Fortitude with the blue dial. My personal choice would be the Astor & Banks coupled with the Seiko PRX.
mido one is fire
I guess I'm that Seiko nut. 5 of my 10 watches are Seiko. My SSK005, and SPRE43 are a pretty great "under 1000 dollar" Collection on their own. Altho If i didn't already have a black dial driver, I would have gotten the back GMT. I paid about 700 for them together, that leaves 300 for my Wired (a Seiko JDM brand) Solidity AGAM701. Any I'd says you'd have a really well rounded collection. ANd you've still got 100 bucks for some spare straps, which will fit all 3 of them!
How about a video on budgetwise picks of dial designs. small seconds dial, compass, roman numerals, arabic, power reserve, skeleton dial, no bezel, duel crown, etc
Orient Kamasu on a strapcode bracelet and that SRPF53 I suppose. $1000 is a bit short for me for a two watch collection though, I really like lots of options in the $750-1000 range.
Link to purchase the seagull?
P.s. Ho comprato anche un Seiko 5 sports GMT SSK003.
I teamed up a seiko black gmt (daily wear) with a orient sun and moon (uber formal, dressy occasions). And i think im done for now. What d'yall think?

Class 100%
Tissot power attic 80 and an Orient Bambino version 7
Citizen Promaster Diver Orca! Underrated watch, so glad to see it! 200M WR, rotating bezel, eco drive, screw down crown, cool dial design, AND stunning lume on it as well. The orca’s spots (indices) and both the hour and min hands all illuminate. Only miss is it’s a mineral crystal and not sapphire, but all in all it’s a stellar watch, and I’m happy it’s my go to beater.
If I had to start over again with 1000$, my first pick would be a Glycine Airman GMT: brilliant movement, etched in watch history and looking gorgeous along with a casual or dressed up outfit. Wait for a good promo and grab one, then spend the rest on a Citizen Promaster automatic diver's 200 titanium. Bought that one to be my beater watch but love it so much I wear it almost daily. Light, tough, beautiful... titanium for 300$. Regulated it, now runs at +-2sec/day. Same for the Glycine. For
I would build a two watch collection with $500 by getting Orient Bambino and Seagull
Hadn’t heard of Sternglas. Looks great! 40mm with thin bezel and white dial will wear big for a dress watch, however. Unless you’ve larger wrist >7” They’ve similar models in 38-39mm
I have two Seiko Turtles, and a 6 1/4" wrist. They doo look big on me (especially in photos), but not at all ridiculous.
I would get timex marlin and certina 38 blue diver
Seiko king turtle and g shock 5600. I know it’s not 1000 but that’s my dream
By carefully eyeing sales and offers I have a fantastic collection for €1000. G shock 2100 Quartz PRX Seiko 5 Sports Orient bambino. Well aware that these are quite popular picks but it covers sports, dress, dive and utility and every scenario I could find myself in.
PRX 💙
Man that Casio Duro! We live in awesome times, such a sharp looking watch for that price! Amazing. Was surprised of that. Maybe because I don't liek to look at Quartz generally, but it's so cool to have that option.

@@TeddyBaldassarre Thanks for confirming. Whished it was a sapphire crystal though as I really like the design of the watch!
Whats funny is that I just started my watch collecting journey and I have a Sugess(seagull Movement) and an Ice Blue PRX.
The Mido is a beautiful looking watch but it would look even better without the date function, the date window breaks up a lovely clean dial.
I'm wearing the Sternglas at the moment. Understated and elegant, just love it.
What's the advantage of a micro-rotor movement?
I would do a Hamilton khaki field mechanical bronze for having a classic option with some intrigue and then a Seiko 5 gmt for a diverse sports option. I see them as complimentary opposites that would both be quite appropriate in most situations!
Studio Underd0g reverse panda and a Unimatic U-1
I’m looking up the seagull watch and I’m seeing it online for anywhere from 199-280 online. Did the price decrease?

There are many different "versions" out there, some made by Sea-Gull, others have different branding. They all have the Sea-Gull movements and the cases appear to be made in the same factory. Some have sapphire crystals, others plexiglas or mineral. Some have swan-neck regulators on the movement. All these differences affect the price. Actual Sea-Gulls are the most expensive. I have one with different branding and it's been fine.

You never talk about single-hand watches such as Meistersinger. What are your thoughts on those?
Great video. Do this for $2,000 or $3,000 as well
$1000 in the UK would get you a Smiths Everest PRS-25, Seiko 5 GMT and a G Shock
I would go with Hamilton kakhi king day/date and a dressy seiko presage-one of cocktail times? Great video,as usual
Pronouncing it as Seiko pro-specs makes a lot more sense

Add 50 to 100 to the budget and add a basic Gshock to any of these picks and you'll have the perfect 3 piece 1000 collection.

Where is the citizen silver leaf!!!! That smashes seikos presage collection!
Wat the best in range 3k?
13:40 Premium sandpaper dial
I hate how much I like the way the movement on the Seagull looks. I refuse to buy it, but there really is a lot to like.
Well, citizen orca, and not Kamasu? Orient is not worth for the money?
Ironically the Bulova FLR watch suffers from the FLR logo which is very out of place there. Probably the red with the otherwise gray scale style that doesn’t sit well in my eyes. Too bad since it look quite cool otherwise n
Laco b dial?
Let’s narrow it down further, Teddy; how about doing a one watch collection video with a limit of $500 where the watch selected is a do-it-all? Thank you!
