In this video Dr. Andrea Furlan explains that the autonomic nervous system is divided into two parts: the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems. The vagus nerve is the longest cranial nerve and it controls the function of almost all the organs in the chest, abdomen and pelvis.
There are ways to activate the parasympathetic nervous system. And Dr. Furlan shows some exercises that can help to achieve this.

This was really Effective I wasn't expecting much immediate effect coz they look so Simple but I just tried them n actually felt Calming sensation n then little Happy feeling too😅 Wish You could do a Longer Night time Calming n Soothing Stretching Vagus Nerve Activation Exercises routine too🙏

Thank you again for this exercise. I had forgotten where I had seen these exercises until I saw your short broadcast today. I have been told my stomach is not digesting my food. Took meds to help. They did, but it is slowing up again. On meds again, but I read in other places that vagus nerve exercises can be helpful. I shall start doing this. Thanks again.

don't eat processed stuff like flour, plant oils, anything with sugar except real fruits, and eat real food eggs, fish, meat, dairy as protein is balanced in it and rebuils body if your microbiota is destroyed then take good vitamin B50 complex for 3 months improving diet and eat some fermented food as yoghurt keep veggies for next meal or it will block absorption of nutrients from these 4 foods including milk as it may block absorption of iron in excess if you stressed change coffee for yerba mate or green tea but don't drink too much daily it fills and causes being alert it's ok when doing focused work but not before sleep in evenings walking with medium intensity is the best exercise

wypełniać cały dół brzucha i oddychać równo w i z powoli coraz wolniej i dojść do relaksu ciała leżąc jakby oddając ciału kontrolę w końcu tylko dół brzucha będzie się poruszać swoim własnym rytmem nie myśleć przy tym 😂 pozdrawiam powodzenia myślenie o spadaniu i twardości pod ciałem pomaga

Dr Furlan I have always been on high alert. A year ago I was diagnosed w/spondylolisthesis so most of your suggestions I cannot do safely. When I had to adjust my workouts or was unable to workout I was so much worse and went into high anxiety. Please suggest more vagus exercises for people with back issues…thanks very much, Nancy

Wounderful demo on vagus nerve activation exs which is new to myself i learned by your video how to activate parasymthetic nervous system.. good one as you told the physiological effects of this exercises. I think its a stress bustor along with dieting exs & meditation. Any specific indication would you reccommend in your clinical practice dr.andrea ? Shall we prescribe for asymptomatic sinus bradycardia ( athelectic heart) 55-60 beats / min ? Shall we indulge in our regular morning exs routine or its only for those who indicated ?

Hi Vignesh. Those are good questions. I recommend people doing relaxation exercises when their pain is caused by muscle tension, emotional stress and anxiety.

Dear Dr.Furlan, these are one of few Vagus nerve exercises I've found (beside ear technique, belly technique and breathing/mumming sound while exhaling) Which one is most effective and safe? Or can we do them all, as long and as many times a day we want? Thank you.

humming will oxygenate your blood and cells but breathing mainly with full diafragm and slow breathing will help most often it takes time to make own way to relaxed state I lay down feel ground on back and feel as falling down as weightless I take my time and then it comes fast otherwise it blocks lol good luck
