    I watched the original like two or three years ago I think, still daydreaming of doing a built like this. Money time, skills etc

    Wow, this project turned out really clean! Awesome work!!! I'm surprised that the performance of the model 3 motor is similar to the model S performance!

    Seat of my pants dyno. AEM-EV wants to actually DYNO it next month. It's probably not as quick but I sure have the feeling it's close.

    Great job! Cool to see someone using the AEM stuff. Buddy and I are doing ls4 fwd grand prix with a sport unit in the back. Just waiting for AEM to release sport motor support which should be pretty soon they say

    W body platform is pretty interesting make sure your 4t65hd is equipped with strong internals before you put power on an LS4 tho.

    I didn't see any battery cooling plates, but I suppose they could be on the unseen side of the modules - is there any active battery cooling?

    Congrats on another great built. It would be nice to see your list of components. How's the AEM BMS works compared to your first Mustang's?

    Wow! Great job! I viewed all your previous videos of the first project. This is something I would really like to do. I know it will take time to learn all aspects involved and also money. But hopefully i will one day. What is the rough estimate of the cost to do your projects?

    I would put aside about $30,000 as $15,000 will be in batteries if you want some range and power.

    @@Roadstercycle Thanks. My thinking was the major expense would be motor and batteries.

    How do you get the Mustang 2012 electric power steering rack to function? Does it need its own controller to run the electric motor, or is it merely just a plug and play?

    You have to send it Canbus signals. I used an Arduino and a Canbus transmitter. You can buy an off the shelf unit for $300. Google Canbus epas controller for S197 Mustang.

    Did AEM-EV ever dyno it?

  • @Roadstercycle

    @Roadstercycle

    Yes they did. With a base motor in it it pulled better than an P85 on the dyno. Check out the AEM page on KZread and find the video. It's all there.

    You mentioned 16 modules, but didn't say how many kwhs that is or an estimated range? Project looks killer, thank you for sharing such a cool project with us. 👍🏻😎

    @@4literv6 I have not weighed it yet but the last Mustang was 200 lbs lighter than stock with 32 Kwh of batteries. Maybe I'll weigh it today as I'm curious too.

    It appears to have 16 modules, each "type #4" in the list in the Electric GT OX Drive battery brochure. They're 12-cell modules, configured as 6S2P each, and all modules connected in series. This combination is shown in about the middle of the table of examples in the brochure (although they say it's 96S1P of 120 Ah cells instead of 96S2P of 60 Ah cells); the weight is given as 528 pounds or 240 kg for 42.6 kWh.
