Thank you so much much to say that’s so kind! Most the time we have no idea what we are doing but it’s fun ☺️

If you want to use the roof for rainwater collection I would go with the tin. It’s less likely to grow mould or moss which is important when collecting water. The tiles are also more likely to crack if any of the surrounding trees drop a branch. With the lower pitch make sure that it’s not too low or you’ll have leaves etc collecting on the solar panels which will limit their productivity.

@@THESCOTTERS We sure are … we traveled in an old vehicle with our youngest sons 3 & 6 24 years ago overland to India via turkey Iran Pakistan .. we renovated a house in India & the boys schooled too .. we stayed in India 4 years. We now have older boys & they all enjoy traveling. Really cool the way your bringing up the kids .. luv it & also allowing them to school 👍 So important 😁. We’re parked up in central Portugal in the van touring , wet day so catching up on a few vids .. teepee ⛺️ time 👍. Take Care

Kayla concrete is hard work, so you’re a legend!! 🙌🏻✨❤️😂 I’d say pitched roof as well, and I’d use tin if you’re going to use the roof for rain collection. The poly tunnel garden is coming along nicely! 🥰💚💚💚

Seeing as you don’t have a granite barn you can always go with a lookalike tiled roof the same as Andy and his brother used on the townhouse , you then have the best of both worlds it looks authentic and it’s light as well and if you know you are going to have solar panels you can beef up the trusses where they are but badger will have thought about that already ,,,, cheers 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧john

Love your channel and your happy people energy!!! The olive trees at the border of a slope makes harvesting olives more difficult. Usually you put big fine nets on the ground and shake and rake the olives of the branches. A flat ground helps to make the labor intensive harvest easier. Looking forward to all the progress you are making and all the joy that brings your family!

I believe the water crest is also a good filtering plant for water, it’s lovely ❤and your strawberries are getting along too. Are y’all aware of how huge olive trees get, that could be a big problem driving down that lane, if y’all don’t keep them pruned yearly! Oh well have fun family ❤. Hallo scotters, I love your site. I think you made a mistake with the olive trees. On the edge of such a steep slope it will be very difficult to prune and a nightmare to harvest the olives on the side of the slope. I think you better plant them on a flat terrain. Many greetings from Thailand.

As crianças irradiam felicidade. Que bela ideia a de semear flores para as abelhas, também vai ser lindo de ver. No sítio o de plantou agriões, também poderia plantar poejos que se dão optimamente nesse local. Quando lhes deram a indicação de fazer um círculo de terra quando plantar uma árvore, é para que retenha a água. Quando mostra o plantio da oliveira, fez um círculo incompleto e como está num declive, se chover bastante vai levar toda a terra para baixo. Terá de fazer todo o círculo e reforçar a parte do declive com algumas pedras. A vossa quinta é maravilhosa.

Tin for the roof if you are doing rainwater collection, will be more efficient and hygienic than the tiles. I love the energy you guys bring to each video. So jealous and I 100% share your vision and ethics! I just wish my partner did as well so I could bring my family out to live the dream as well!

Hello, we enjoy your vlog. One thing is concerning us it is the planting of the olive tree right next to the road. The tree will get big and you usually don't trim the tree from the side but from the height, usually look like a donut, we thinking it may damage your road, the roots, and limit the kind of transport you can get as the road will be narrow, and what about the time you harvest the olive one side of the tree will be very high to the ground and the other side on the road, good luck to you all, only our 2 cents.

Lovely idea with the watercress. Wonder if it is worth adding gravel to keep the water clear. When you see the watercress farms in Hampshire they use concrete channels.

It's good to see your enthusiasm and it's nice to have an ""olive entrance"; but, did you think about the time to pick the olives (and afterwards, to prune the olive trees)? It is not a matter of "fancy" that olive trees are preferably planted on land that is as flat as possible...

Happy birthday. What about that moulded recycled plastic tile - comes in sheets, so easy. My only concerns with that is will it go brittle in the sun and you would have to fix it really well as in a wind it would act as a sail. Worth looking into - just Google recycled plastic roof and it will come up. The ones that came up for me were orange coloured and look like portugese tiles from a distance. Oh bless her about splinters into trees
