    I found when pulling my SC and intake the main wiring harness had a clip hooking it to rhe back of the intake and that is why I couldn't pull it our all at once. I fought with so long and then did like you. Pulled the supercharger then the intake. That's how I found the harness was clipped to the intake. Drove me crazy! Your intercooler was super clean! My car had 75k on it and was dirty. Cleaned it all up with brake cleaner though and looked new again before installing back. Good vid!

    Yeah, I see what you mean with the tab in the back of the lower intake for the clip. This car had a ported eaton done not too long ago, so that’s why it’s so clean.

    @@OH3REDFIRESVT I did the EGR delete on my bullitt. There really isn't much of a benefit to it. The real advantage is not having to wrestle it back on. I decided to keep it for now even though I have a block off plate because I want the car to pass emissions if my town gets more adamant about cracking down on it.

And did you do the dyno already or you guys are planning to see how much horsepower the vmp will add to the car since is pretty stock like mine. You guys got me the urge to do the same on my 03 cobra. Thank you and stay safe!

    Danny 2 more questions for ya on this: the wiring on my car (specifically the big harness against the firewall is going to make it a major pain in the butt to put the manifold back in with the blower on it. Any reason I couldn’t put it back together the same way it was taken apart in this video? Manifold first, re attach blower, re attach IC coolant thingy????? 2nd - did you just fill up the intercooler system with coolant through the same hoses it was sucked out of till full? Or is there a better way?

  • @dannyjohnsonsgarage

    @dannyjohnsonsgarage

    3 жыл бұрын

    Yes, you can drop just the blower on but you’ll just need to remove the baby pulley bridge (you’ll see it on my water pump install video I will link below). Just full the intercooler slowly into the lines and into the expansion tank. Run the pump as you do it. Most of the time it burps itself easily since it’s not a pressurized system

    I’m gonna add a correction to this video that almost got me in trouble. Vmp recommends 15-18ftlbs for the supercharger to intake bolts. That extra 90 degrees broke the Allen bit and luckily not the bolts or stripped from the intake. 18ftlbs is more then plenty to secure supercharger to intake.

    I've just ran into this same issue when installing my Whipple. I wasn't so lucky however and I stripped threads out of my lower intake manifold. Called Whipple and the said to only torque those bolts to 170 inch pounds, that's about 14-15 foot pounds. I even read online that the torque specs for those bolts was 18ftlbs plus 90° but that's way too tight. The threads can't even handle it.

    Dumb question but why does the intake manifold need to come off too? Why not just leave it there and swap the blower?

  • @dannyjohnsonsgarage

    @dannyjohnsonsgarage

    3 жыл бұрын

    You can do either way depending on what you prefer. If you lift only the blower you’ll need to take off the inner pulley bridge to access the coolant lines that go into the front of the intercooler (which you’ll also want to be sure to vacuum out like we did so you don’t end up with a puddle in the intake manifold). My brother wanted to bolt the blower to the intake manifold outside the car so we did it his way.
