    Yes, the lower 3rds are accidentally swapped, and there are a few seconds of audio near the end where the sound echos a bit. My sincerest apologies and please don't make a big deal of it to my bosses - Matt :)

    Hi, optometrist here! - Pinhole helps make your vision clearer because it gets rid of all the excess peripheral light rays that can blur an object and only allows the central rays to enter your eyes - Hard contact lenses are healthier since it’s less likely that bacteria can grow on them and the material allows more oxygen to pass through to supply the cornea with oxygen. They usually last a year - Myopia (nearsightedness) is a more recent pandemic. There’s a correlation between increase near work and reduce outdoor time in modern times than the past that’s causing myopia to become more rampant so it wasn’t a huge problem back then - SMILE has a fast recovery and less complications with the corneal flap that can occur with LASIK. Hope this helps :)

    My favorite salad is one from a regional chain in my area - they have an asaparagus salad that has spring mix, grilled asparagus cuts and tips, shaved parmesan, chopped hazelnuts, and hard boiled egg in a lemon vinaigrette. It's amazing and the grilled asparagus is so juicy and just the right amount of crisp. Besides that, I'm a big fan of a salmon caesar. A grilled salmon caesar was actually the first salad I ever liked as a child, when I was 12 years old at a diner outside of Anchorage, AK. It was as if a switch flipped in my brain that said "oh wait, leaves are good actually" when they were drenched in sauce and fish.

    I’m here to give my water bottle preference, which is an Owala It’s definitely my favorite water bottle I’ve owned. I used to have a hydro flask (a knockoff but it kept cold just the same) with a straw mouth piece. It was nice but I lost it in a t-max. I have a Nalgene too and I do like it but it’s kinda of my extra water bottle I bring camping or on long hikes. I drink it first since it doesn’t really keep ice well but it’s big which is nice. Now the Owala is my favorite bc it has the option to be a poor spout or a straw, with the best part being the straw is covered

    As a college student majoring in music, I learned that people born with perfect pitch can have their internal pitch sharpen or flatten over time, so they may play a C and hear a C#. It makes musicians go insane lol

    I only say this because the topic of "is it a salad?" comes up frequently: a salad is numerous foods mixed together and served cold. It doesn’t have to have lettuce or be healthy. Rice and veggies can be a salad. Pasta salad, fruit salad, even that jello salad everyone makes fun of -- all accurately named.

    I love the design of owala bottles. I didn’t know that it was named after koalas because of the cap that’s kinda cute! For me the number one thing I love about it is the shape of the “sip” opening for the straw, because it’s not just a hard plastic straw like in the Stanley cups or a silicone tip like a camelbak bottle. The shape deters my need to chew on everything and destroy it. Another thing that I love is the handle becoming a locking mechanism so it won’t randomly pop open when you put in a bag for travel.

  • @FinnHarrisGuitar
    @FinnHarrisGuitar4 ай бұрын

    Hey perfect pitch is a weird thing! It relies on you understanding the correlation between scales and diatonic steps, So for example you have to learn what all of the notes are named to say “this note is a C!” or something of the like, Much to everyones dismay you cant really train perfect pitch, if you get really good at being able to tell if a note is in tune or not, that is relative pitch, but that doesnt mean you would be able to name the note. Sorry i do not mean to lecture, i was just thrilled you guys were talkin about this stuff as a music nerd. Also so cool to hear about shanes piano work. Some people dont realize they have perfect pitch for yeaaars, so maybe you guys do have perfect pitch and just dont know it, much love ‼️

  • @DecemberLove97
    @DecemberLove974 ай бұрын

    Hello! I have a music ed degree and I am here to clarify things about perfect pitch: There are three different kinds of pitch recognition. 1. Perfect pitch is when someone can innately recognize and produce specific tones without a reference point. Like someone would only need to know the letter pitch system and nothing else, and could tell you that a sound they’re hearing matches an f# or whatever. It can’t really be taught, it’s an innate ability. 2. Relative pitch is when people can recognize and produce specific tones as long as they have a reference point. This is a really important skill for trained musicians- they can learn and memorize intervals (the space between pitches) and apply them however they need to. So for example, if you played a C and asked me to sing an F, I’d be able to do it, because I know how much distance is between those two pitches. This is what allows people to tune guitars without a tuner, or improvise harmonies. 3. Pitch memorization is when people literally just memorize what a note sounds like. Like if you play a song that has been transposed into a different key, you would know it wasn’t the original because it sounds different. So basically, if you have really good pitch memory and relative pitch, you’re as well off as someone who has perfect pitch. Sometimes peoples perfect pitch isn’t actually perfect, like it can be a few cents off, so a lot of people with perfect pitch sing out of tune, or they’re so married to the idea of singing the “right note” that they have terrible relative pitch and have a hard time singing in choirs. ANYWAY good relative pitch is better than almost perfect pitch. The end, thanks for coming to my Ted talk

    Totally with Brittany. I love a water bottle! I have 4 for separate occasions. I love my hydroflask, but it is a 40oz-er, and it's too heavy to carry. Love it to leave in my car and put lots of ice, though, stays cold all day! My favorite is my Contigo, Also 40 oz, but it is lightweight plastic and has a clip, so i can clip it on my waist or purse. I carry this one everywhere. I have a really huge one with a strap that's perfect for long days at like a museum or theme park, it's Hydracy brand. Then i have a no name one from Amazon that's smaller, insulated i take when i know i won't be gone long and won't be 40oz. I take hydration seriously lol

And once put in place it was awesome but the procedure to put one in and later take it out is one of few things that made me cry😂 I settled with glasses and a look that works for me. And I agree with Shane when I was young it was considered "nerdy" to use glasses and like a moron my first year of bad vision, I sat in the back of the classroom squinting my eyes or asked my classmates what was written on the board until I gave in and picked up my first pair of glasses. And I also agree glasses today look so much better and one can easy find the right ones to fit the form of your face etc

    I can answer Steven’s frustration towards sweet greens prices, it’s so expensive bc they claim to use mostly organic produce and locally sourced ingredients. So the price for those products kinda skyrockets bc it’s more expensive for the chain to buy rather than nonorganic. But it’s what they claim idk if it’s actually organic.

    My water bottle is actually part of one of those personal blenders. I got it a year or so ago as a gift and realized I liked how easy it was to clean. It’s like 20oz and has the little notches every 5oz so that’s helpful when I’m tracking my hydration. It’s always filled with Gatorade tho bc my house has one of those water coolers that you fill with those refillable jugs and that water never quenches my thirst. So I drink Gatorade all the time and my water bottle screws on really securely so I have fun shaking up the powder stuck at the bottom😂

    The water bottle I have is a 24oz black ThermoFlask with a lid I bought separately. The lid has a braided cord handle so its super super easy to carry. I have a crap ton of stickers on it, mostly from the monthly Dutch Brothers sticker drops, and the other ones are all my trans stickers. My last water bottle was this exact same one, with stickers from all over the US and mostly stickers gifted to me. This water bottle meant a lot to me. At work, I somehow managed to put it in the cardboard compressor. To this day, I still have absolutely no idea how it got in there. I pressed the button to smush down the cardboard, there was a very loud pop, and at that moment I realized my water bottle was gone. I looked everywhere at work for this thing, retracing my steps and everything. By the time I made my way back to the compressor, I recalled the very loud pop and had a very sinking realization that my water bottle is now gone. rip water bottle.

    I had a sewing needle that poked my leg and broke off. I couldn’t tell if it was still in there or not after a few weeks when the swelling went down and I felt it I could definitely feel it still in there. I figured it was about a centimeters long but after about two years, it finally pushed its way out and when I pulled it out, the sucker was an inch and a half long.

    I'm a 5 for the apple test - but I also don't have an inner monologue - so for reflecting upon memories and when I remember dreams it's just concepts. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Works for me fine as a mathematics educator and researcher.

    The apple scale blew my mind when I first saw it; I’m somewhere in 3-5, I can barely visualize anything. And it sucks, cuz I wish I could draw, but I can’t at all - but my dad is a very gifted artist. So jealous!

    My current water bottle (and favorite so far) is a Zulu. The mouth unscrews- but so does the bottom for easier cleaning and so you can put ice in in it. The mouth has a little, removable silicone piece that feels really nice. 100% worth the $20.

    I just got an Owala and love it! It's easy to clean and easy to drink out of. I don't like metal water bottles, every time I worry that I'm going to bash my teeth in.

    Rocking a Buzio 64 oz water bottle~ I mainly use it at home only or leave in the car if I go for a hike. Need to get something a bit more light for moving around with it :)

    I don't have a blender now, but I made a blended salad all the time. Greens, cucumber, celery, just enough water to make it work. Half your veg out of the way for ya for the day.

    They used koala sounds in the original Jurassic Park movies for the T-Rex! Also Hydro GANG! I have two different sized ones and they are covered in stickers. It doubles as a nice weapon if I ever need to use it for that reason. 😂

    I can picture things in cinematic 4K HD... but only when I'm not trying to manipulate the images. It becomes very frustrating because trying to mentally "press pause" or rotate the image so I can paint it makes the image fall apart. I've gotten better at rotating simple shapes in my mind, but struggle to fabricate detailed objects/scenes on command. Whereas while daydreaming it's like watching a whole movie.

    I use a soft sponge on my water bottle. I have a clear pink one and have “waterproof” stickers of cats on it. They don’t get ruined, I’m also very selective on what I put in it. Must be 🐈 cute cat!! Meow!

    20:08 is so real I’d do the pinhole (or even some tight hand “binoculars”) and people thought I was nuts until college physics our professor talked about it. That the smaller the field of vision, the clearer the vision becomes. So this part got me hype I’m not alone with my pinhole 😭
