Restaurant owners are legally required to pay their employees at least minimum wage, and make up for the difference if tips aren't enough. Your comment is funny but growing up you were still taught wrong. Your parents should have said the truth "you don't need to fuckin tip at all, but if you want to - go ahead"

ok shane told his crazy roach story so i feel compelled to share one of mine: i was at a drive thru in austin waiting on my food, and my window was slightly cracked. out of nowhere a roach DROPPED INTO MY CAR THROUGH THE WINDOW CRACK and started crawling down the window headed INTO MY CAR!!! i panicked shouting OH SHIT OH SHIT OH SHIT as i cringed back trying to figure out what to do. then at the last possible second i realized if i open my door it will drop right down onto the ground outside, so i yanked my door open and just as the roach reached my door frame, it fell onto the ground outside and i slammed my door shut. i was literally on the verge of tears and when i looked up, i saw all of the drive thru workers standing at the window staring at me like i was insane adlkfjalskdjf. and that's why i never leave my window cracked at drive thrus anymore

Re: tattoos: I live in Portland, OR so I've become completely desensitized to any association between tattoos and personality. Everyone has them here; it doesn't say anything particular about a person. There are certain types of tattoos that would make me intimidated by somebody or wary of them, but most people just like art.

Used to line my bedroom floors with plastic shopping bags. We had such big roaches nightly, that I could hear them. The bags helped. This way they wouldn’t crawl on me in my sleep. The roaches got so bad, that I stopped killing all the rats because I realized they were eating the roaches. This led to a massive rat issue. They weren’t even scared of coming out in the day cause they knew… they knew we had formed an alliance.. Until they started jumping up in my kids high chair to eat spilled food right in front of me. The decision to break the alliance was so difficult for me. To hear this roach story that consists of 2 large roaches cracks me up. I lived this every night. Our issue was that we bought a house from the 1940’s that had been renovated. We later realized there were holes from the ground straight up into the walls. We only learned this when we had an opossum in our walls and had to rip it open. Never buy an old renovated house. Ever lol. Unless you like money pits.

To be rid of the stigma: Bedbugs, like lice, didn't care if you're dirty or clean. They might be slightly more prevalent in people who don't take care of themselves, only because they may not have the ability to eradicate said bedbugs/lice, but bedbugs/lice will live in a clean home just as happily as a dirty one.

57:36 credit card tips where I work at now gives the kitchen staff an automatic percentage of our tips which i definitely think is fair. Where I work in take out we have thousand dollar orders coming through and big orders and to be honest when there’s no tip not even a five dollar one it’s a little bit exhausting because it’s not just one big order. It’s multiple big orders at the same time working with one or two other people, somebody tipped $1 on a $116 order the other day and I felt grateful for that because at least they cared enough to tip anything. I always try to remind myself maybe it’s for a funeral or four something specific where it’s not really in their budget to tip but when you drive up in a Tesla or a new Porsche it’s like.. oh yeah no problem Have a nice day. I’m still gonna treat you right, but it is a little bit hurtful in my opinion.

The theater topic is interesting because here in indiana, i’ve seen people clap during lots of movies! Obviously the main ones were spider-man no way home & endgame (which was the best experience in itself) but it’s such a fun experience to watch a movie for the first time with many other people

The roach story has full on traumatized. Roaches and bedbugs are my worst fears. We had an isolated bedbug that got transferred in a bag of clothing that was given to me. And I literally sobbed while I dismantled my bed, basket the clothes were put in, sprayed, and scrubbed everything. Luckily the clothes given to me were isolated to the basket. It was the only one, everything was promptly washed, sanitized and spent at least 60 mins in a dryer on high. We never got another one but i could dry heave thinking about it.

For me the tipping is more towards providing a consistent service or an art. So a server gets tipped because they check in and constantly are making sure youre situated and talk to you, but a fast food worker is more of a one and done. That being said there are definitely some in betweens that I get stressed on if I'm supposed to tip or not. Especially now a days theres tip things everywhere but some of them dont feel like theres any extra service being provided to give extra money towards. It can be so confusing

I work the counter and phones at a pizza place where I make a few dollars above minimum wage, plus tips. Usually just $2 or $3 on top of the order is typical, and we only really expect a 20% tip if someone orders like $100+ of pizza, but then again some people don’t tip at all. The tips also get split between me and the kitchen staff, so that’s my two cents.
