I really love how much Ryan supports other people's passions. Especially in his friendship with Shane - as much as their on-screen banter is based on good-natured digs at each other's idiosyncrasies, Ryan is so supportive of Shane's hobbies and interests. Love that he was the one telling Shane to go get his pens so he could talk about them. Also, I'm 1000% down for the return of malls. I miss wandering aimlessly through the mall, grabbing a bite to eat, chatting with friends, running my errands. You can be as visible or invisible as you want in a mall; it's either a place to be social or to blend into the crowd and just enjoy the ambience. And nothing beats holiday shopping at the mall, if you're into that kind of thing. Getting all your gifts in one day-long trip, holiday music and decorations everywhere, everyone dressed up in their holiday colors and big winter coats, ice skating rinks open for business (if you've got one, as many malls do). Love a good mall.

i love small shops, supporting local businesses especially while on vaca, like it's not local to me but still local to where i am atm, but yea it's a shame malls are dying as people still need to grab a bite, socialize, enjoy the holiday decor etc

@@oooh19 Oh, for sure, absolutely would not recommend malls to the detriment of supporting small businesses. To be honest I think it should be easier for small businesses to set up shop IN malls. Malls could absolutely be great if they prioritized local over big box. The big box stores would certainly still be part of it, but would be cool to see mom-and-pop shops also.

This was somehow the most chaotically wholesome episode yet. They should really rename these "Hyperfixation Watcher," though. It's a good thing I also like listening to people talk about things they're passionate about. Also, I think the book Ryan is referring to is The 7 Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid.

@@Kristenhas3cats Wow, that's nuts. I grew up with Bloody Mary and was terrified of her. Always thought I heard her coming up the stairs to get me. Never saw her in the mirror though. Ever since i discovered the Frixion Erasable fine tip pens. I haven't gone back to pencils. Love how there's no mess of an eraser, erasing is very good with there being no marks left behind, and they write really well. Downside (which i learned the hard way) is don't expose the paper with writing on it from the pen to over 120 degrees of heat. Since the friction from eraser causes it to be hot enough to erase i didn't think about the heat in general one day when getting signatures at work and went to pass the paper under a heat lamp area in the kitchen so the employees could sign and all of the signatures just vanished and i had a wtf meltdown mostly of the fact i had just gotten twenty signatures already and had to do it over again. 😂

Shane, good choice on East of Eden! I've read almost all of Steinbeck, and I think it's his best. That and Pastures of Heaven.

Oh, I absolutely love that we got to hear more about what Steven plays and of course, more about Shane liking Fortnite! I’ve never played Valorant, but if Steven Lim plays it, I’m sure it’s good! Didn’t expect to hear that Andrew plays Apex, but it’s a pleasant surprise. I would adore an episode of Survival Mode with Ryan and Shane playing Fortnite! And Shane’s Victory Royale was just as stunning as he said, I also recently got one where I felt the same. I really just love hearing how much he loves the game (like I do), so much so that it sneaks its way into almost every episode of this podcast. I’ll always look forward to hearing him talk about it (and the podcast as a whole)! Loved this episode, guys, can’t wait for the next one!!

I thoroughly enjoyed the pencil talk. Palomino Blackwing pencils are my favourite. The Pearl is probably close to a B/2B. And you can replace the erasers!

Rope had me thinking about that plastic version of braided rope that we had in elementary school gym. It's like pointy from years of use and I want to slurp it up.
