I made a similar target, just twice as thick as this based on another KZread video. Works great. The thing that you cannot stress enough is how easy it is to pull arrows out of this type of target. It is by far the easiest arrow removal of any target I have used.

Add a piece of carpet or thicc cloth on the backside. Only fasten it at the top so it can swing/move on impact. Then your target has the backstop it needs and is perfect. Jelly that you can get all those materials for free in US :D

Used these seed bags for years and they are pretty tough and resilient. I fold the edges for double thickness before stapling for strength for packing the stuffing tight. Mine are 3’x3’x16” thick. I found clothing stuffing at a local secondhand place that throws out tons of old clothing . Require cutting of buttons, zippers etc- anything hard to ruin an arrow point. Like you guys I used junk lumber and wood from pallets. I’m lazy so I mounted mine on two wheels at one end and a handle to lift and pull on the other end. This lets me easily move it around for different yardages. Cloth is used in nearly every bag target. 👍👍👍👍

I'm into traditional so a bit less power in the arrows so I do exactly the same but use cardboard boxes (TV, furniture, fridge - anything big and thick) as the outer layer. When the cardboard is done for I just pack the old target into a new box ;). It works wonders! Still using the same plastic insides for like 8+ years. Needed to add about 30% more though. It is free as opposed to many expensive targets we also use in our club and on the range.

In my home made targets I use old clothing, blankets and towels. Though I don’t use a compound bow I use recurve bow with 38lb limbs. Also my container is the builders buckets that have 17”diameter rim and I cut them builders bags to make the front of the target.

Creative and frugal and effective! Outstanding work, Gents. Here in Midwest America I have a personal issue with people who constantly toss their empty water bottles into the street (and my yard). I'm going to try your idea but will add the heavier duty plastic of water bottles to your excellent idea of plastic. AND you're recycling ;-) Great job, guys!

9:24 That is an accurate shot no question. You would never starve with someone who can shoot that good.

I just made a 4'x4' target. It wasn't free but well under 200 and will last. 4 packs of rubber mats (9.99) tractor supply, 1 pink insulation board(40ish) 4 white insulation boards(14.99) duct tape, landscape fabric and foam board glue. Cut in half and layer with the pink board and mats on the outside. Wrap in fabric and tape the edges. Stops 4mm arrows with g5 broadheads out of an 80 lb bow. Arrows pull easy and clean. Its lightweight enough to move easily but heavy enough the wind doesn’t tip it over. Roughly 2 ft thick.

Are those Pod Mahogany trees in the background. They are native to East Africa. The Brit colonials really spread the flora of different countries around the world. I live in South Africa and spent some time in Lae P.N.G. if you're ever there a visit to the botanical gardens is worthwhile. The war grave cemetery is right next door. I roughly calculated the average age of the dead was 24. Imagine?? I'll be making your target. Thank you.

Bulker bag? I've worked construction for 10 years and never heard of these. We may not have them in the USA.
