Greedfall 2 - they're supposed to go into early access soon so some more marketing would not be crazy.
In a way, the main problem with these games is the same : the brand name is there, but does the talent that were behind the last entries still here ? In Bioware's case, I'm pretty sure that's not the case, but ultimately, once the games are released, if they're good, the rest doesn't matter.
One of the ones I'm really hoping to hear something more concrete about is "Crimson Desert." Started as an MMO, but they shifted it to a single player RPG. It looks kind of ambitious, but a lot of the stuff that was in the trailer is stuff that's existed for years in Pearl Abyss's "Black Desert Online" MMORPG, so it's actually got me pretty excited. I have a bit of a love/hate and on/off relationship with BDO, but what it does well it does really well. The action style combat is still the best of any MMO, if you ask me, and very good generally speaking. I'd love for Dreadwolf to be good, but my expectations are very low. As I'm sure I've said before under one of your videos, the Bioware that gave us the classics from the 2000s is long gone. I'm more than happy for new Bioware to prove me wrong, mind you. Avowed...well, I hate first person melee, so that's probably me out, lol.
...I'm not 'excited' for the Witcher 4. I loved the Characters, that's what I loved about the Witcher, characters and story. Geralt, Yenn, Triss, Ciri... they won't be in the game. And the people that wrote those characters aren't writing the new characters.
The twitter accounts of the writers for DA:Dreadwolf have made my expections so low that I don't even care when it releases. Then game will be about modern social politics. I have some hope for Avowed to be decent, but I rhink it is unlikely.
I'm not holding my breath on Bioware redeeming themselves.
i am not buy anything from EA i am skipping it
I'm not the least bit interested. Bioware was belly up before the pandemic. Post pandemic, everything is about DEI. This wasn't worked for the companies. It never will work. Yet the keep clinging to it.
I have such low expectations from any of these studios that I'm sure I don't care how any of them turn out. It would be nice to be surprised but, expectations ...
same
Dreadwolf most likely won’t hit til 2025
My expectations for Bioware are very low, but one can always hope (I would expect something as safe, if not safer, than Inquisition). CDPR seems to be taking overall path Bioware did a decade ago, but how they approach the W1 remake and W4 will indicate just how far down that path they've gone.
Only really looking forward to Shadows of the Erdtree and Exodus for this year.
My only hope for Dreadwolf is that it doesn't fail so hard it kills Mass Effect 4
What module was he *not* apart of?
I have zero hopes for biowere. But I do love your videos ❤
Thanks!
@@spellandshield same i have no hope for bioware games EA
I'm definitely looking forward to Dread Wolf, Avowed. and the new Witcher. RPGs are great! I don't mind if they look a little 'cartoony', not everything needs to be hyper realistic. 🤷
please god no dont buy dread wolf
@@IDontKnowYouWhoAreYou I'm absolutely buying Dread Wolf, but I'm doing it in the same way I bought Inquisition. On sale with all DLCs bundled. I want to see how the game plays out both with and without my Inquisitor. That will likely put it 2 or 3 years out after release. Perfectly reasonable time to buy.
They better come through with Dreadwolf. It is literally a matter of life and death.
I'm eager to see what Bioware gives us. I've moved from extremely skeptical to guarded optimistic. I really want DAD to be good. I enjoy that world and its lore, and I want it to continue.
Game you didn’t call out, and one I expect to delivery better than almost all the ones you listed. Kingdom come deliverance 2, I really enjoyed the first one it was flawed but was different and very enjoyable. I don’t expect much from the former great RPG companies that the talent ether left or were downsized out. At this point, I expect more from the JRPGs as for as reliable games. And will presently surprised if these “big” companies can delivery games that are both fun and not broken messes.
Is it being shown in June?
@@KratosisGod yes, want to say it was confirmed for gamefest. They already dropped a trailer giving the release window.
@@Trace153 Thanks for the info
Dreadwolf is basically the only thing I want to see during the show. However, I feel naught of hype for it. As for Avoved... I keep forgetting about this game only to get reminded of it from time to time.. and then forget again - product advertisement issues still hold Obsidian back a lot; I'm glad there are people like you helping them out. I hope that Obsidian learns from the mistakes (or rather shortcomings) of Outer Worlds - the game could have been great, but it turned out to be painfully mediocre and unsatisfying. CDPR is dead, there's no reason to get excited about anything they do, honestly.
The smart thing is to not get swept away by hype and not pre ordering unless a game gets good word of mouth.
@@KratosisGod Hear hear
Do you have opinion on the wayward realms boss cuz icl for me thats my most anticipated game so far just in front of dreadwolf
I plan on covering it soon, just been ill and very busy but don't worry will be talking about it.
@@spellandshield calm boss get well soon 🙏
@@spellandshield Hope you get well soon, since their do-or-die Kickstarter is now on! _Really_ hope Avowed surprises us all in a positive way.
I loved Orgins but bounced off of 2 and even though I bought Orgins with 3 I never actually played it due to overall bad opinion of the game, I hope dreadwolf will stick for what worked best, gritty world with great story, and choices that influance your companions, I really liked the combat in orgins too which is also why I was suprised that it was forsaken in 2 and oversimplified in 3.
I hope bioware drops the whole pseudo mmo thing they had going on with inquisition, just make it either real time with pause combat or something similar to the arpg style combat that DA2 had.
@@KratosisGod Yeah, I could be fine with combat from 2 but like you said it does need a polish!
@@Tyanus2 Based on the gameplay leaks it looked like they're going more in the DA2 direction still that leak was years ago and we have no idea what the game is like in its current state.
@@KratosisGod Oh thanks for sharing!
Dreadwolf, do or die. I am leaning more towards die. I am more willing to be lenient towards Avowed. Let's see.
Couldn't agree more
I would be happy to be surprised by Dreadwolf but I have no expectations from it.
I have no confidence in Bioware whatsoever. Mass Effect Andromeda was a train wreck, and so was Anthem. The Avowed gameplay looks so bland it's a joke, Obsidian is a great studio, but games are more for the "modern audience" these days.
The mythical modern audiences that are nowhere to be seen outside of twitterx echo chambers - and who never buy the products made for them, for some reason.
Agree, though I think Andromeda was passable (mostly for just the combat) it was a soulless “spin-off” game from a great series. And avowed, well let’s say the reveal would been better to not have revealed. Killed any hype I had for the game and expect it to be a DEI checklist game. Which sucks as pillar deserved better than that, I am expecting a F3 = F4 kinda lack of rpg transition.
Thing is with deserts is theres no suprises. You can see everything in the distance, nothing to hide behind except rocks, and hard to drive a narrative of a highly active desert population.
I'm at the point in PoE 1 where I need to pray to one of the gods for assistance... this video really helped me do some research without returning to my library at caed nua! My character is an orlan druid philosopher, wael is who he's drawn to, if he even believes in gods at all, but I may be out of favor with wael considering I DID return the book to the priestess of wael! Liked and subscribed, thank you!
Glad it helped.
Can a new studio re-use the game engine ? If so that would be a good start .
He just doesn't like class systems and prefers classless, pillars games are still great😊
And then you give halflings the lucky feat 💥💥💥
im sure its going to be about Vampires-type Dark you know, maybe you think its stupid But first time i heard they making a game Even before naming it i had a kind of feeling(the kind of feeling you know ot will happen but you can't explain)that this game is going to be about Vampires or something like that, and when they announced it, I was like yeah it's 50% on. now i was searching about Cyric that bring me to your channel and i don't know why again i was thinking about Dawnwalker and boom It WAS in your channel..there aren't many channels with Dawnwalker content bro.. anyway Rebel Wolves are the REAL CDPR by the way Witcher 3 quest writer and designer joined them even some of Witcher 3 contracts are better than some decent games main quests lol.
Here, take my money
It’s a real shame that anything other than medieval fantasy seems to be for enthusiasts only… as well as any RPG without full VA. Enemy variety issues aside, I really liked Tyranny.
once Corellon was a shapeshifter par non, and so were the elves. But Araushnee tricked the elves in giving up that power, and because Corellon is the quintessential elf he lost that power too, foreever locking him in one form. Corellon blamed this "imprissonment" into one form on the elves and banished them from Arvandor.
You're my favorite channel for my favorite game genre.
I can see within Starfield something great, I think the game had potential but they fumbled it like the idiots they are.
Vote with your wallet and playtime you have all the power. Don't support Woke DEI ESG BRIDGE indoctrination.
I finished this game as a sneaky unarmed guy who would open fights with an explosive sneak attack, then run back to my allies and contribute minimal damage for the rest of the fight. Boss fights were hard for me since I couldn't open with my tactic. Still, I love this game to death.
the first good news is not a good news with such a bad news, who the fuck wants a sequel, that is NOT developed by Larian, i don't trust anybody with the ip
My favorite game from Obsidian❤
Loved the game, loved the story, hated the real time combat. Same with the first Pillars. Deadfire really saved itself with turn based and was an absolute banger. Also Tyranny is just way too short, feels like half if not even just a third of a game.
thx
Ah one of my pile of shame games. I definitely have to finally play all the way through it.
Far as I know it, it was a deal by Paradox to publish PoE 1. They wanted an IP of their own and thats about it.
I only learned of the game's existence some two weeks before it was released, and I am square in the middle of the target audience. Paradox did indeed do an extremely poor job advertising it. It was a great experience and it really sucks we've yet to see more from it. It had a lot of promise.
I can't stomach Tyranny past chapter 1. The writing is excruciatingly cringe, written by people who don't have enough life experience to know what they are talking about. The magic system, while ...unusual, was thoroughly unbalanced and best practice was putting healing spells on everyone. Cooldown-based abilities in a cRPG with a party is a no-no. 3-4 enemy types in the whole game. Wonky difficulty curve where chapter 1 was brutal in a very good way, but the tension deflated immediately after that, etc. It's definitely not a hidden gem or misunderstood masterpiece, let me tell you.
'Promosm' 🙋
Sad to see wasted potential.
The world needs more of the large-indie studios who are self-owned and can decide their own fates. This need for every game to make a billion dollars in order for a studio to not be disbanded SUUUCKS.
I've played a Ton of crpgs, and Tyranny is my favorite of the last ten years. Bronze age atmosphere and aesthetic, music, spell and artifact crafting, very interesting lore, reputation system, combo abilities, New game +.. it does plenty of things to set it apart from classic fantasy adventures. Only some of the writing wasn't good enough as old classics ( kind of wish Avellone was working on it). I think the villain was setting MC to be the next overlord, or as unifying threat ( since the world conquest was over), sequel was really needed to tell a full story.
