Have you checked out the runout of the spindle? How are you mounting the grinding wheel? Is it on a balancing arbour?

I tried you view on an i686 Pentium 4 with Windows XP it shows up fine except the background is all back, cant see any characters otherwise. Maybe I need to change the default color when it runs Mach3

I really like the screen! I've created several wizard screens an none of mine are anywhere close to the quality of yours. I have one issue, on my particular hardware, i have to move the spindle (Y axis) before i can reference x. With the normal mach screens, i can edit the button script for ref all. I don't know how to do that with your screen however. If you can point me in the right direction, I would much appreciate it!

So I followed your example and started at bottom left, clicked on the corner and the machine moved to the left a little then stopped and a message says: Manually return to starting position and repeat the search. It just keeps doing this. It doesn't travel down then move right to find the part. What am I doing wrong?

I decided to check and after pressing the go tu zero button, the milling cutter went to 0 machine coordinates ((( and zero was at -157 mm at the bottom (what did I do wrong? Sincerely, Igor

Very Nice looking screen set but when I try to load it I'm missing the Reset/stop button, its off screen at the bottom(no scroll) and it does not matter how I try to change size or move it I cannot get it to apear full screen with everything in sight. I'm using 1920x1080 full HD, using a non touch screen. any ideas?

Thank you for the video, you have designed a great screen set. I will be using this with a CNC router. I might change the coolant button to Vacuum. Can I use the editor that I use to change the Mach 3 screen set? Is the link the screen set the most current screenset?

Mach 4 is worse than worthless!!! I watched this video months ago while spec'ing out an Avid CNC machine and thought "no way, it can't be THAT bad if Avid sells it as their default controller" ... but alas, the primary goal of Mach 4 seems to be to destroy your expensive CNC machine, or at least destroy all the parts you're trying to make. Having now been using it for a few months I have indeed seen it over and over again freeze in the middle of programs, completely loose its coordinates, drop tool changes, and otherwise find every opportunity to go haywire. On the very best days it will cut your parts ok and is only as bad as how clunky the UI is. Don't spend a penny on this steaming garbage pile of a program. Now trying to save up for Masso controller to get out of this mess.

I use 46 grit and have a mirror finish on parts. The reasons that I can see are 1) balance and vibration (I minimised these with an O-ring belt drive, balancing the wheel and getting rid of the V-belt discontinuity with the smooth 10mm O-Ring drive while using minimum belt tension). 2) Stiffness of the system overall - new bearings and solid material in the machine itself. 3) Wheel dress. I spent a lot of time working out how to dress the wheel so that it was smooth on the face and exit (where the final finish comes from) and nicely parallel to the ways. The edge of the wheel does the cutting. The rest of the wheel does the smoothing (pretty much regardless of the grit), thus enabled by the diamond dresser cutting off the sharp edges on the grit granules - if you're careful. Also, I used small increments (about 1mm per increment step) in ONE DIRECTION for each pass over the part. I never went back and forth in the passes - only cut one way. This was very satisfactory to observe as the zigzag pattern disappeared and the 'record grooves' pattern also became flat with no perceptible roughness - even with 46 grit J hardness wheels!!

Looks good man. The only things that makes my OCD freak is that you call it "single line".. in gcode each line is called a block therefor it's called "single block" also I would highly recommend adding "optional stop" and "block skip"
