    This isn't a deep clean. A deep clean would be taking out the liner and cleaning under it.. no one does it and mine smells

  • @Catevolution1
    @Catevolution18 күн бұрын

    Quite an old video but whisker does not show deep cleaning as globe liner removal required. If your liner is smelly, removal of the black bolt underside of entry lip allows access to underside of the liner if needed. Use Whisker spray cleaner with enzymes to spritz the liner after wash and dry. Light spray, leave on to dry. The enzymes chase down lingering odours. The fence accessory also keeps the entry lip in place to stop soiled material getting under the liner too.😻

    First, the instructions on any video related to this are off because the wires and even the plastics pieces shown are not what’s in the newer versions of the LR3. So that took time figuring out. They need to update the videos. Second, I went through all of this to have the same issue; nothing has changed. At this point, I am highly dissatisfied with this product I’ve had less than 8 months.

    Thank you for your feedback. I suggest you contact where you purchased the Litter-Robot as this video was created in Australia in 2021, with the process for the DFI version 1 similar but not the same for the revised (new version ) of DFI v2. Whisker.com is the manufacturer and can assist you further if you are not able to contact the company you purchased from (it appears you are USA based). If nothing has changed following installing the new DFI successfully, and you still have a flashing blue light, check you installed the DFI mainboard plug the correct way up. There is channel and groove to assist that need to be checked when installing. WE trust this assists.

If you have unscrewed the globe, you may have lost the globe magnets. If you are not using the original power supply, you may not have enough power (15volt). Feel free to provide more information as there is not enough on the initial comment.

    Yesterday I changed my router setup, and had a difficult time reconnecting the whisker app, but I did get it to work. Here's the details: - went in the app and deleted the device (somewhat desperate after failing to update the wifi in the app) - made sure wifi was 2.4GHz (turned off dual 2.4/5G wifi for the duration of this procedure) - my wifi SSID & password don't have exotic characters - TURNED OFF CELL DATA ON MY PHONE (the wifi connection got past the place it previously froze) - Followed the procedure above, press 2-buttons to get blue light, add litter robot 3, scan the QR code, bluetooth almost immediately errored, choose wifi pairing, connected to the litter robot wifi with password 'neverscoop' - back to the app, hit next, got the prompt to choose my wifi network and password in seconds (this step hung for >15 minutes several times before I tried turning off cell data) - selected my 2.4GHz SSID & entered the password - hit next - TOGGLED ON CELL DATA - brought the app back up, within 1 minute it was successfully added (it had hung up here for >5 minutes before trying to turn on cell data) Maybe some of this is was luck and small sample size. I also tried various steps that seemed to have no effect, including app re-install, switching devices (Apple & Android), power cycling the device (when the procedure above worked, it had been 10+ hours since I pulled the cord, waited 15 seconds - or some other random/long time, plugged back in, etc.). I really think the cell data toggling was part of the magic for me, but here are some things I tried near the time it finally worked: Waited overnight (perhaps notable since the device was deleted from the account and then re-added), reset the router (my router setup is a bit DIY, and the wifi access point is separate, it doesn't get happier with reboots like consumer units I've had in the past). It's not very scientific, but I was still hung up at certain points in the app connection routine until the cell service off / on toggling at specific points.

    Likely you need to clean the DFI specifically, or possibly replace if damaged. See if this helps For the left DFI, the silver chip pins located left side of the midboard black square (chip) may have damage, likely from litter dust or drop. Try cleaning these, stroking along the pins outwards from the black square, with an earbud or qtip lightly damp or if you have contact cleaner, using that. Make sure you are unplugged completely by removing the power supply from the back of the base first. Essentially, you are working to separate the pins by removing all debris from between, and on them. As its litter related, moisture to soften first is needed. You can also use a wood toothpick or similar to help clean between the pins if needed. When done, ideally returning the pins to silver like the right side set, wipe over again with the dry end to ensure you have removed all debris. The pinch detectors may have dirt/debris where they touch together. Push on the cover (DO NOT PULL) to open a small gap and wipe the touch point area with a qtip or earbud. Its tight but thats good as you need a clean surface for good power flow. Please take another set of pictures of these 2 parts, and send, and update with outcome of test after cleaning. Note that sign of a good litter is solid clumping, low dust, and you can review this in both globe (not sticking) and waste drawer (solid clumps). Litters seem to have changed formula a little this year, likely from Covid supply issues, and you are best to review and if needed, change litter, to keep your appliance in good order. It also helps reduce odour by locking up the uric acid or cat pee smells.

    Thank you for this video! Helped A lot! My liner came with a new screw and nut installed in the liner to use... I didn't realize that until after I had it all together 😂 Had to take the liner off the front to remove it to use it 😅 The liner seemed to be too big when I was installing in along the rim. I found it helpful to have the front all installed, then kept essentially massaging the liner front to back along both sides until it all finally appeared to be well into the groove without bunching. I also found it helpful to start with screwing it back together starting from the very back and working forward. Initially I started up front... but the back end wound up popped out a bit... much easier to pop the front into place with the back held in properly than the back when when the front is held in place.

    The globe liner usually has waves or folds in it. When fitting, start at the rear middle and work forward, not stretching anything. When you have about half done, move to the front left and right and fit the pockets over the shell casing, so that you know you have it pretty much lined up. The folds are in the bottom 2/3 not in the actual fitting at the top in the channel.

    I just want to encourage anyone, I have a litter 3 and it had flashing blue and then flashing yellow if I pressed reset. I took off the bonnet, the ball, the litter drawer, removed the screws from bottom, slip apart bottom to access the drawer sensors and pinch sensor. Removed the right and left drawer sensor boards, cleaned clear lenses, green board, and pinch metal contact with alcohol very well, replaced clear lenses in reverse, reassembled and the issue is fixed!

  • @Catevolution1
    @Catevolution111 ай бұрын

    Awesome to hear Kody, and yes, cleaning can be really restorative, particularly if there is material on the silver rows of chip pins next to the black square on the left side green board. Ensuring debris is removed from on and between the pins can get the issue resolved. You can also swap over position of the pinch detectors for a new head and tip contact to help with extending use.

    Is it possible that the sensors themselves, not the plastic covering, is the issue? If so, is there a reliable way to clean them? I cleaned the covering for the sensors and even removed the liner from the drawer, but I am still getting the dreaded blinking blue light

  • @Catevolution1
    @Catevolution111 ай бұрын

    Yes. The green boards have a thin resin coating. The area to check is the silver chip pins or rows of small bars located on the left side board (not the control panel side). Review for any discolouration, dust or deposit on the pins. Clean by softening up with a damp qtip, and stroking along to remove debris front on the pins, and between them, so they are separated. A toothpick can also help.

You can also test if you open the motorwell, if you add the bonnet to complete the circuit. It can be helpful to unplug each plug to see if you can isolate the sensor that maybe the issue. Also check your power supply is correct. If needed you can send photos to [email protected] and I can take a look. DFI, pinch, motorwell, underside are all good photos for review if needed.
