When I first starting learning about the .327 mag, I read that the semi-rimmed .32ACP cartridges would work in it. I just thought “that’s an awful lot of freebore before hitting rifling.” It’s nice to hear that someone with more experience than I feels the same. Recently got an SP101 in .327 for my daughter (mostly😉) and I’m loving its versatility.

Sorry the ballistic test I have seen with the 25 hardball. On hard barriers the 25 penetrated better than the 22 long rifle. OUT OF A SHORT POCKET PISTOL BARREL.. perhaps elephritz .. use data from 22 pistols with a longer barrel which would give them more velocity and energy.. when you compare the 22 pocket pistol like the bobcat to a 25 pocket pistol bobcat.. on hard barriers the 25 with its full metal jacket penetrates much better hard barriers.. I would say the 22 out of a small pocket pistol in the 25 are about equal stopping power wise which is not great but better than nothing..

I was talking to a lady who just got her pistol permit and found that she is recoil sensitive. And she has a hard time racking the slide.. I suggested to her the Smith & Wesson easy 380... She was saying she wanted something even smaller and lighter to carry but I explained to her this micro 380 like my Taurus TCP which is fantastic and accurate and reliable has extremely snappy recoil I found that out the first time I shot it.. so I suggested to her even though they are no longer manufactured pick up a used Beretta bobcat not the jet fire in 25.. yes 25 because she can handle the recoil she can use the pop-up barrel to load it and it's double action/ single action and it has a larger grip than the jet fire of course the sights are not that great but for up close and personal it's something to keep her from being unarmed if a small tiny pistol is the only thing she will carry.. another option would be a lightweight snub in 32 Magnum which recoil is a lot less and no slide to rack

Pro tip: Most ranges require eye protection. Simply put a layer of "frosted" tape inside your weak-side lens. Your dominant eye's image will be clearer and override what the weak-side eye is seeing, without completely blocking it. Of course, this doesn't work if the course has any weak-side shooting.

For a civilian that is in an area without solid stand your ground laws any use of deadly force from 50 feet or farther is most likely going to lead to a criminal complaint. From my experience in law enforcement, aside from ambushes, most gunfights occur at an extremely close range and usually involve a fatal funnel such as approaching a vehicle, approaching or standing at the door of a structure, or going up or down a flight of stairs. Career criminals are most likely going to wait or even draw a police officer in close before engaging them.

9:20 - re holstering striker-fired pistols: The reason I went to the XD45 instead of a Glock is the Springfield's grip safety. If you put your thumb on the back of the slide, the web of your hand has less chance of depressing the grip safety while holstering. SIG teaches putting the thumb alongside the hammer in their SA/DA school, and it's easy to learn with the XDs as well.

I saved (and saved!) and bought an M625-8JM. The plating is flaking off the MIM trigger and hammer, luckily in non-friction spots. One day while I was breaking it in, the "can't engage itself" Hillary lock...engaged itself. Since I had no damned intention of ever using the stinking thing, I had left the key to it in the "blue box" in my storage building. I put it away and continued shooting with some other guns. When I got the key, I disassembled the gun, took the tumbler and ground off its wing. The same day I ordered a new one from Numrich; it's in its envelope in the blue box with a memo to whichever son inherits the gun. I never felt so smug about "disabling a 'safety device' " til then. I still enjoy shooting it with ACP and AutoRim handloads, but I will never carry it as a defensive piece again, the MIM parts are just too much of a worry. Another time I had a new-ish M625-6 Mountain Gun lock up for no discernable reason. I had to beat it apart, dis/reassemble it and eyeball all the parts. I never found exactly what, but something was out of tolerance. I swapped it (the only Smith I ever got rid of!) for an AR9 for my wife. On the other hand, I have an M29-2 and an M66-2 that I've had since the seventies; both have been in the shop for "yard periods" and both have never stopped perking. Now I'm looking for an older M25-5 to replace the 625-5, and no, I'm not ordering one of the new "classic" ones - they only make 'em in 6" and I only carry 4" DAs like God intended. PS I bought a 4" 624 and so far, it's functioned OK, but it's full of MIM and I will not carry it seriously. I'll carry a 40-yr-old Bulldog instead.

6:50 - There are actually neurological reasons (beyond limiting how much of your punkin haid you're exposing) for using the same-side eye - right eye/right hand, left eye/left hand. It has to do with compatibility of neural pathways.

I have a wife and 3 kids under 18. They don't shoot much. They can barely remember where the mag release is, to rack the slide, the safety, etc. When they pick up an auto loader for home defense there is a high chance they will simply forget to take the safety off or put one in the chamber, especially in panic mode. This is why I INSIST on revolvers in the home defense, loaded and ready to go. Just point and shoot.

Folks, this is perhaps the BEST "how to" video on the internet! Extremely presentable expert with excellent camera angles. I like how he took his time to explain different scenarios as well as offering outstanding techniques and practices. I came here because it has been a while since I used my AR at the range and this is my GO TO video as a refresher. Please pass this along to your friends who either own or are thinking about owning an AR! Well done Lucky Gunner Ammo!

I would love to be able to get a ruger 10/22 with a modifier. Unfortunately I live in a state where I can’t buy silencers. So I’ve started looking toward air rifles. The technology in just the past few years has exploded. The higher end brands are ridiculously expensive, but you can get a decent rifle for backyard pesting for a decent price, and I can use a modifier without permission from the powers that be. Easy as making an Amazon order.

My grand kids pestered me over carrying 1911s. The claimed I was a Fudd, for using an out dated platform. All my 1911s became trailer queens. I pull one out a couple weeks ago. Didn't realize how much I missed them. I'm going back to good triggers, and fat bullets.

Have you guys tested this in Knox gel blocks? I think that's what the FBI uses for penetration testing because it most represents the density of the human body - because - let's face it, this is what we're talking about. When I hear about penetration going over 12" I shudder. I don't know anyone who is much thicker than that. Yes, I know they exist, but they will still be seriously hurt and bleed out from these things. For home-based public relations, I want good grouping and 8"-10" of penetration within 15 yards (whose rooms are 45 feet across? I guess 45 feet for hallways) so all those little pellets are rolling around in there causing more damage - and I don't have to worry about accidently shooting my dog or spouse who might be behind the intruder. Regardless, i hope to never be in the situation to need it.

I had a German built model a few decades ago and it had so many problems. It never worked well. FTF and FTE . . .could not find a load it liked. Finally traded it - god what a POS. I'd take a Glock obver this and i HATE glocks!!! My Colt 1911 . . .Been shooting it 50+ years with countless factory and reload rounds. Changed the barrel 3-4 times and of course the springs . . .

4" barrel, 8 shots. CCI Mini Mag 40gr. I practice at 12 1/2 yards and at 25 yards. Cost, 100 rds less that $10. An afternoon, couple of hours, at the range, Relaxing.
