A serious PSA: In California, most rear-end collisions is always the other party's fault, isn't something to tempt fate with, as insurance claims is a headache already. No matter what car one drives, driving overly defensively or overly aggressively is not a good thing and one should drive to match the flow of traffic and no less than that. I do body work as a side hustle. I was assessing someone's 2023 Model 3 RWD in a similar way that got rear-ended by someone going at 45mph but couldn't react fast enough. The dashcam footage showed the Model 3 slammed hard on their brakes due to bumper-to-bumper traffic and trying to avoid hitting the person in front. The repair estimate came out to $10,000: That's not too shabby and luckily after back and forth, the shop was able to save his car from a total loss. The M3 driver (regrettably) was acting smug in how he wouldn't have to pay anything, and it's all handled. What he never knew that WE know is that it doesn't' take much for a Tesla to be declared a total loss, and branded. Perfectly usable Teslas with <30k miles get salvaged'. And with that salvage, the next driver loses that battery warranty no matter what which just contributes additional scrap to the world.

I'm pretty sure Teslas don't read signs yet. Right turn on red is likely to still be map data. If it doesn't turn right and you know it is legal, you can press the go pedal briefly if it is safe and it will proceed. You are driving a "Supervised" version and as the supervisor you should not hesitate to use the go pedal as needed to keep it. Going too slow? Go pedal press. Awkwardly jittering and slow while turning in an intersection? Go pedal time. Shaky lane change? Go pedal. Always be sure it is safe before tapping the pedal, you are responsible. But tap will generally tell the car "Human says it's safe", so I will ignore the present distraction and go.
