Great FSD videos. THANK YOU. I’ve been a little nervous starting out mine - downloaded this week. Your vids are bolstering my confidence. Do you recommend starting out with FSD in Chill, Average or Assertive?

15:45 - I think this is a subject Tesla will eventually approach, and solve. Vision in the car works basically the same as human vision. The potholes can be seen by the car now, it just hasn't been learned yet that it could/should avoid them. There are future scenarios where it is reasonable to think that all Tesla vehicles that encounter road imperfections can and will avoid them.
@billy-kyle

I’d hope it wouldn’t jerk the car around to avoid them

Don't know if you can answer this yet or not with FSD, but how well does the FSD system handle Railroad Crossings and if there is a train coming???? Also did you buy FSD for the Tesla at 15,000 dollars, or did you subscribe to using FSD with the 199.00 dollar per month Subscription?? Just curious. I don't have a Tesla vehicle yet, but learning from all the videos on You Tube. Thanks for the video and take care.

What I don't understand, looking at the car's screen while your driving, you have passed the car or object but it's still on the screen. It's like if the Tesla system is not looking far ahead forwards and to the sides enough in advance (like we do as humans to anticipate what may/will happen). For the amount of times I have had a car turn left in front of me at the last minute, and having to brake to avoid hitting them, I don't know how the automation would handle this.

Not sure I know exactly what you mean
I don’t think you have the right of way at that circle, wouldn’t someone, already in the circle already have right of way?
great video, to tesla's defense on the car stopping everywhere and then going, it was legally mandated since it was technically blowing out stop signs and rightaways going 1-2 mph through them

It seems the common issue I keep seeing is that it’s overly cautious at turns/intersections/roundabouts, slowing down/stopping when it could have driven. But maybe that’s a good thing, it needs to check there’s nothing coming…

They have to do something to avoid the jerkiness or hesitation. Just go superslow and keep the wheel steady and smooth. this will ease people's mind, especially passengers.

Why are you constantly putting your hand on the wheel?
@billy-kyle

Because the wheel needs to feel resistance to prove you are still attentive. If you don’t touch the wheel, it will kick you out of FSD for the rest of the drive.
Still no way around touching the wheel every 30 seconds?

20:40 "The car came to a stop in the middle of the intersection" No it actually did not, your camera showed it stopping before it was in the other cars path because it was unsure if the other car was going to stop. it was likely already moving forward again when you hit the accelerator. Its interesting because i think everyone that makes these kinds of videos makes these same mistakes. but the only solution would be to record the video without talking and then watch the video and add the talking after, but that would take a lot more time and be fairly annoying, which explains why nobody really does that. ive seen a few people comment "im not sure, but i think the car did blank and if it did then blank". but its kind of sad, its like blaming the car for doing something wrong when it did it vary right. Also, the car judges how fast the car is slowing down or if its slowing down. if the car thinks its not going to stop then it will slow down to get more time to judge it. That car looked like it slowed down vary late, which explains why the tesla waited. 22:40 i wouldnt really call it a learning experience, it judges the leaves as the side of the road and the car as something it cant hit, and thought it didnt have enough room. Whats interesting is that with the occupancy network the car seems to think it has less room then it does, but those blocks the network uses to map out the world arnt that small. so while you physically had enough room, those imaginary blocks likely extended beyond the leaves and beyond that car by a few inches resulting in there not being enough room. I believe tesla said they working on shrinking those down further so this will be less of an issue in the next few updates hopefully, depending on when that update actually happens.
Can't wait until you won't even need a driver license.

A significant minority of “licensed” drivers do not know how to safely operate a motor vehicle. I look forward to traffic court judges sentencing these people to operating a self-driving vehicle only. Fleets of vehicles, with conspicuous graphics, would be available for the guilty to rent during the term of their sentence.
