Sorry Frank but I had to chuckle about the nib mix up. Could happen to anyone. If you haven't deleted your Benu video maybe you could just record and insert a "future Frank" comment that it is a broad nib? I've been writing with a medium on both my Benus and am going to get a Fine because the M feels a little thick for me even though I like to write with mediums. Happy Canada Day to you!
Cool that you were able to hook up with a stationery/FP group. I don't think there are any in my area so I may need to start one if I can get motivated. The closest TC caravans that have come through in my state were two hours away in the biggest city in NC-Charlotte. I'm a wimp about five lane highway city driving!
Oh dear, is it wrong that I got a bit of a chuckle out of that? I arranged with a pen friend to try his Benu Euphoria with a M nib so I didn’t accidentally get a pen with too Broad a nib, but his pen is now damaged. Glad I don’t have to worry quite as much now!
Try this: if you get inky fingers use a moisturiser on your hands. Moisturiser is an emollient & helps in removing ink from fingers. My Mother used that to remove makeup from her face. Hope this is helpful.
🤣We all make mistakes, glad you got the right nib in the end. I’ve got same pen with M nib and while I like it, F is definitely my preference for Benu.
Nice video, especially the scenery, what music is that when you were sample writing the BENU please? I just read the reviews on that book, sounds like worth a read.
Writer's Blood is a really wet ink, it a Benu broad it would be really really really wet.

That is a really nice setup, Frank! I love the combo with the orange ribbon band. I have the olive one, too, and use it as a mental health journal. 🖋️ However, I don't like the fact so much that the regular TN is quite narrow. Since I write quite large, I have to jump quickly to the next line, which hinders the flow of writing somewhat. That’s why I prefer to write in my Hobonichis. The length-to-width ratio actually works better for me in the TN Passport size, which I use as a travel journal. But that's just a matter of taste and I still like using both of them.😊 By the way, I love the idea of the patches! I hope I can find some nice ones here. Could I ask you what glue you used to attach them? I would also be very interested to know where you got your pen holder for your TN? I find most of them too narrow for my pens and am therefore very interested in them. Thanks for your videos - I always look forward to watching a new one.😍

I have a Faber Castell Ambition OpArt Flamingo F and couldn't agree more: the nib is drier than a mummy spit. Plus, the section is awfull. It slices your finger tips. It's a beautiful pen, but unusable. I hate it. The cap is sealed, though. On the other hand, I regret so much haven't bought the blue Opus 88 Fantasia... it still haunts me because I really loved it.
I got mine fixed! It turned out there was an issue with the nib feed. I had my stationery shop send it to Faber who replaced the nib unit and now it works like a charm. I too have regrets about the blue Fantasia. It's a gorgeous looking pen. Thanks for stopping by and have a lovely day!

@@StationeryAt4 Hello! There are converters to supply directly from the inkwell, but there are two drawbacks, the supply is heavier and the amount of ink is smaller than in a cartridge. I have my ink from Faber and it is more economical that way, because here in Romania it is quite difficult to find cartridges with quality ink. All the best!

Hi There, I do it in my Hobonichi A6 Techo on a Sunday. As I mentioned in this video, while I like the A6, I'm thinking of coming back to the TN weekly format.
Have you considered using the Sterling Ink Common planner in the N1 size? It fits the traveler's notebook cover and comes with either a vertical or horizontal weekly spread. Great video, thanks for sharing!
I've looked at it. It's a bit expensive in the conversion from USD to CAD for me but I'm very much considering it for 2025.

The orange elastic looks so nice with the Superior Labor pen clip! Dot Grid are my favourite inserts for journalling and I like the lightweight paper too for commonplacing/notes/lists. Enjoy your Olive TN - it’s quickly become my favourite cover.

"hold my muji b5"! in all seriousness, try the muji notebook paper bro, its much much better. in the category of midori which is toothy and textured. i havent come across a paper thats more textured but also feather resistant, bleed resistant, off white. its debest.

Good collection. Just add in a cheap glass pen or dip for ink testing. It’s so hard to tell what thin vs broad and on what paper looks irl. Century 3776 to see of you like more feedback. It’s nice imo but it’s different and sailor has more feel but platinum is louder but less pencil like. I am a ef uef and po nib fan platinum and pilot nail thin lines.
That Benu medium is so wet it writes thicker than some Broad nibs! I’m considering getting a Passport sized TN for my upcoming trip to Paris for the Olympics

I am very interested in trying the Schmitt nib but after seeing your writing samples, I may eventually get a Fine. I am quite attracted to the Olive though my brain wants to get neutral to be safe. I’ll probably go for the Olive. My nephew just qualified two weeks ago to represent Hong Kong in triathlon so we are going over to cheer him on

It's the Hobonichi techo English version. I got mine from Blesket back in February. Hope that helps!
Blue with red sheen is easy to find. And yet I always want to buy any new one that comes out. I bought Mermaid as well. I am so glad you love the Platinum Carbon Black. And I love that you have penabled your coworkers! Shadow is gorgeous. My cats have never sprawled like that.
