WOW! Thank you!!!! VERY FIRST RESELLERS I have ever heard discuss COB & NET profit. I thought I have been INSANE bc even the most popular resellers (even ppl you both know & are friends with) = Constantly refer to their Gross Profit as their Net Profit. Makes my head 😮🤯🤯😱😱 THIS is what I have been chasing.... Thank you for FINALLY saying the TRUTH about the #1 core issue of business. I wish this topic was discussed MORE.... I have looked everywhere to hear insights on common resellers NET pricing formulas, etc. (I hope hope hope you deep dive into Net Profit in Resellers Edge: I just joined.) I know this from my previous industry & I have been chasing solutions for helpful tips & formulas (even knowing Common Issue #2: we arent the same) = But I hope you can dig into this unspoken topic in Resellers Academy... ❤❤❤ WOOHOO!! Thank youuuuu!!! allll about these tips! SPOT ON! truth & reality! preach & help! 😊😊😊😊
Hi Janice! Thanks so much for all the kind words and we’re so so excited to have you in the group and to meet you on a call 🎉🎉
What is your store name on eBay?
Hi! We used to be high volume sellers on platforms like eBay/posh/depop/mercari, etc. we mostly wholesale to other resellers that sell on those platforms and stores and sell on whatnot now :)
Another great video. I’m going to use grandpa core this winter on my oversized men’s sweater.
I love it!! Thanks so much for watching and commenting :)
Great series...one thing I want to mention is that not everyone there is a reseller....so....most might be looking for just their size or stuff they personally like. Their focus was narrow. Great for us because who in their right mind would pass up a St. John jacket that retails for $1200??? It happens. Not everyone is looking for the same stuff you are. I used to live in Austin. Many Latin folks were looking for light weight items to ship back to their country. They only wanted light stuff. I found tons of heavy pieces & couldn't believe they were left behind. Narrow focus = more great stuff for us
Thanks so much for watching and commenting! I totally agree that not everyone is looking for the same thing - I always say to go through every bin and throwback regardless if resellers have already been there because you never know what they will miss, let alone what they sell or want to leave behind! Great point :)
Ok... where exactly do you sell your items that makes you a six figure seller?? And what exactly you mean by "six figure"??? I'm a six figure seller myself and I can't even pay my bills anymore... revenue and profit is not the same.
We totally agree on the revenue and profit thing! Here on our channel, we actually broke down last years gross and net profit even showing our tax returns haha By six figure sellers, we mean that we gross six figures, and actually profited and earned six figures. We sell our items wholesale to other resellers and to stores in bulk and also sell on whatnot :)
@@TrashPandasThrift if you were a six figure "profit" seller, you wouldn't be bothering with making KZread videos.
You can literally watch an entire video with our tax returns to see our numbers and us clearing $100K+ in profit… but okay? We make videos to help other resellers, because we care about our community and want to see others winning too. We believe that information is power, and we enjoy sharing that and helping others. Thanks for your comment and engagement on our video though and truly wishing you the best on your reselling journey! :)

Love the video sean and bethany! Glad to see you guys doing well!
Thanks so much Andy!
I 100% agree with Sean's analysis of the expenses. I'm only at the very, very beginning, but already, the amount of stuff needed just to get going, is truly surprising. Mailing bags, inner bags for clothing, a steamer, lint rollers, bubble wrap etc I have a personal account with 100% feedback, and I'm really focused on doing the same for a business account - I want the buyer to have a nice experience of any transaction they have with me. Quick story, just today, I received an order from buying off Vinted, the seller literally used a wastebasket bin liner to send it in (a doll, as I collect). No bubble wrap, no cardboard, nothing. The flimsy bag tore in delivery exposing the doll head. Needless to say, I had to leave them less than 5 stars. I'd rather spend a little extra on secure packaging, than receive negative feedback. 😊 Thank you both for sharing your experiences!
You’re so welcome! Also, thanks for sharing the story :) it’s so true - the importance of a customer’s experience is extremely important.
As a long time reseller, I agree 100% with everything u said here! 🎉🎉🎉
Thank you for watching and commenting!!
Really wish more yt resellers would cover keywords, but maybe they really don’t use them! 😅 As an ex-marketer/advertiser/social media manager, I’m fully aware of how keywords work when advertising and I really wish more resellers realized that! So grateful for your channel. You are one in a million! Thank you for the unique info!!
Aw thank you so much! That’s super nice of you to comment and I totally agrees on how important and powerful keywords are!
I just don't have decent stuff at my goodwills..i am going to have to buy new with clothes by the box. 4.50 a piece. from jtc auctions that is the only decent way I can source as my goodwills are just too expensive and their brands ppl donate are absolute crap.
The trick about starting at 1 dollar is that once you have them invested, they keep bidding. ❤❤❤
She knows things ❤❤❤
Sold a Stio down filled jacket today within two hours of listing it. I'm finding all kinds of great jackets and coats right now! I saw a very cool heavy wool cardigan today but didn't get it because it was unbranded and I didn't know how I would sell it. Now I know about grandpa core. I didn't know that was still a thing. Thank you!
You’re so welcome - and congrats on the stio sale! Another great selling brand for sure, specially down filled :)
I don't touch every piece but now I am going to start! 😂 How many hours a day are you at the bins? Do you go every day? Also, what do you use for stain treatment?? Products you recommend for difficult spot stains? Thanks a bunch! 🙏🏼 Can't wait till your advanced video! ❤
Hi! I’m at the bins for about 4-ish hours a day now, for 3 years in Austin we used to go for about 7-8 hours a day sourcing!
@@TrashPandasThrift wow that's incredible! I've only sourced maybe 2 hours 3 days a week but I was a regular reseller but as I told you guys before I am switching to wholesale so I'm trying to see what a good average time would be to spend ☺️ also I wanted to thank you, for always answering all my comments on all your videos! You're the best ❤️
You’re so welcome! We love answering whatever questions we can :) I’d also add that it’s not ALWAYS about time in - some bins are way better than others, some have weird rotation schedules, etc. it’ll really depend on quantity and quality of pieces you’re able to source in any given amount of time.
Also also, we use S-32 spot treatment, and then will wash higher end pieces if that doesn’t work with oxy or another cleaner. :)
@@TrashPandasThrift awesome! Thank you! 🤍
Love these kinds of videos!
So much valuable information in this video for new resellers. Great job!! I'm at the 650 active listings mark and gearing up to change my inventory system. It's not working anymore. Just ordered a huge box of Ziplocks. Thanks for the inspo!!
Thank you for watching and commenting! Haha 650 is way better than where I was 😂
Always with great videos
Thank you so much!
Headed to Austin’s for a shopping trip in a few weeks. I know there are a few bins locations. Do you recommend one over the other?
Hi! We personally used to go to the south Austin bins, but people definitely found great pieces at the north location too :)
Absolutely loving your channel! Could you show examples of where and how to utilize keywords in a listing on ebay? Once you enter what an item is, size and color, within the title, there is only room for maybe 1 keyword. Where else would we put that where it would be searchable? How to actually utilize the keywords would be very helpful.
Thank you so much! Our title structure left plenty of room for keywords - we would do brand, item, gender, size, and then keyword splurge! I was always able to fit plenty of keywords into that structure - hopefully it helps!
@@TrashPandasThriftthank you! This is where I struggle, title and keywords
Another really important step especially for new resellers is to get your process of bookkeeping established early on. The earlier the better. It's very important to be on top of your bookkeeping because you don't want to get to the end of the year and you gotta catch up on allllll year long. Truss me I know lol
Absolutely! Sean does all of our bookkeeping and he’s a tedious one with that kind of stuff - numbers are EVERYTHING in business!
I started reselling in May. I noticed from Watching a lot of videos that weird items sell lol I found a Japanese brand jacket called Kapital at the goodwill bins about 3 days ago. I thought it was an old wool Army blanket at first. Still need to go over it in detail for flaws. I’ve started looking for weird items at the bins.
Haha I love it! Weird, quirky, funky, etc. items are all my fav to find and sell!
you guys speaks from the heart. I love listening to both of youu <3
Aw thank you so much! We appreciate you watching and commenting :)
Love the idea of the Grandpa sweater! Thanks
Yes!! Thanks for watching :)
❤❤❤
I was at first time watcher thought I'd give but got bored very fast tired of hearing you talk action speak louder than words sorry for the comment but That is my truthful opinion
Our actions are making $30K+ on whatnot in our first 90 days. We’d absolutely love to hear about your numbers and see what action you’ve been able to take and what you’ve achieved with those actions. Also, thank you for your comment! You’re certainly entitled to it, just like anyone else. You’re also entitled to not watching our videos - there are so many other amazing reselling KZreadrs to watch who you may enjoy more. :)
They are for real. I watched my first Trash Pandas WhatNot show and I must say … the detail they put into each item is amazing! And key words.. It was great to see key words in action. And I love the “first time buyer song 🎶 & dance 🪩” 🎉 Congrats on your success!
Haha thank you so much Dawn! Super kind of you to watch our show and comment :) we love our community on whatnot - and especially enjoy our first purchase dances a little too much haha
I’ve tried to tweak my sourcing mindset and go for style more so than brand. So I’m curious- if you pick up a strong style based piece, do you bother checking comps?
Great comment! Style based pieces don’t necessarily ignore “comps” - there are so many style based pieces that sell well and that can be seen in comps in some and in others not really. There just aren’t really specific comps for unique style based items. The best thing to comp would be how those items and styles like it sell in your store, that’s the way we’ve always looked at comps that are basically going against the market. This is a much more in depth topic but I hope this makes sense!
Yeah, that makes sense! I’m kind of on this kick where I want to pick up basic brands and see how much I can sell them for, just using souped up keywords!!
@@swifty_thriftthat’s an awesome challenge great idea!
Haha I love it! I literally use the phrase “keyword vomit” when talking about using keywords!!
Do you wash all the wool you pick up? What if it's a dry clean piece? I know sometimes you can still wash dry clean labeled wool with Woolite, I just don't know how to discern which ones would be okay to do that with.
WoolX is specifically a really cool brand because the wool is durable and shrink resistant. That is definitely NOT the case for most wool, so I definitely don’t wash and dry all wool, it’s very piece dependent.
I was wondering if you put your Poshmark handle on here? Or what it might be 😊
Hi! We used to list 55 a day and sell on platforms like eBay, posh, mercari, fb marketplace, etc. but now we sell on whatnot and wholesale to other resellers/stores across the country :)
@@TrashPandasThrift thanks for responding 😊 one way that helps me learn about styles that are in trend, brands, etc is looking at the resellers who are selling things so well closet or store and see what they are selling and or grabbing 😊 but your videos have helped a lot! I’m learning to not just look for those desirable brands but branch out to styles, make use of keywords, and look for the Materials etc. (:
That’s amazing! I also post tons of items on my instagram stories and reels and also if you ever just want to pop into a whatnot show for research purposes, ours or anyone else’s, that’s a great way too!
@@TrashPandasThrift thank you! And yes I most definitely keep and eye out for you KZread and instagram updates ahah. I watch Cayley and what she grabs because she does alot of style based pick ups but also brand based, materials too 😌 actually shes how I know about you guys haha
Found a like new Carhart black jacket at goodwill for $8 …. But it’s not vintage but still should sell closer to fall 😅I love men’s fall winter items ;) I sell mostly women’s tho
That’s so awesome and a great deal too!
Great video how many items do you all post per day?
Hi! When we were mostly on platforms, we were listing 55 a day. :) we now mostly sell on whatnot and wholesale to other resellers and stores
Thanks for the great information. I have a 100 % wool women’s jacket/blazer. It has a couple of moth holes, they are tiny. Would you try to sell it anyway? It is an Eileen Fisher. Thanks so much! Love your videos!
Thanks so much for watching and commenting! I wouldn’t pick that item up per se if I noticed that, but if I you can repair it for a small fee that would be great and if not or you don’t want to I’d still list it at a fraction of the price to at least make the sale :)
Me when I found a Geoffrey Beene sweater yesterday for the first time not knowing and left it because comps didn’t look good 😅
Haha I totally get you! I’ve left behind SO many things I didn’t know about (and still do!) it’s a great bread and butter fall/winter bolo though for sure :)
You Rock You Roll Thank you!!!!
Thank you so much! That’s super nice of you to say :)
These educational videos are so awesome. Thank you for taking the time to make them for those of us not in your private group! It’s very much appreciated!!! ❤❤

Hello, Bethany! Several days ago, I found 4 Talbot sweaters at the bins. I took them, they are all made of merino wool, but the sizes are S and S petite. Do you think Talbots in small sizes are worth buying for resale? Thank you! Nice video!
Hi! Thanks so much for watching and commenting :) It depends on what platform you’ll be selling them on for sure, and what you’re COGs are and how much you want to make. For us, selling on whatnot and wholesaling to other resellers and thrift stores, I’d likely pick them up if they were in good condition and a good style too - I’m very confident we’d be able to flip them for a profit we’d be happy with. If you’re a platform seller, my first instinct would be to go onto eBay and check comps based on the style, size, brand and materials and see what’s listed vs what’s sold, and determine if it’s worth it for you that way!
Have you all considered doing what sold videos?
Hi! We mostly sell on whatnot and wholesale now a days, but we have thought about doing haul videos with comps or even live-streaming sourcing at the bins
Love these kind of videos
Thank you so much for watching and commenting!
I have a cashmere sweater but it has sweet marks on armpits how can I get rid of the marks??
Hi! I struggle with this sometimes too so I totally get you. You can try running cold water on it and gently rubbing the stain out, some people also recommend adding shampoo (never tried) or cashmere stain remover. It’s a hard one though and sometimes it’s just a loss for us if we don’t catch those.
I love the community on Whatnot! It’s just the best.
I completely agree!
YOU 2 ARE SO INSPIRING, IT IS MY GOAL AS A 55 YEAR OLD FAIRLY NEW RESELLER, WHO BY THE WAY HAS MADE A LOT OF MISTAKES, LOL. TO DO WHAT I LOVE MAKE THIS THRIVING RESELLING BUSINESS AND, LEAVE MY JOB EVENTUALLY. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR VIDEOS AND INFORMATION. KERRY
Thank you so much! We’re definitely both cheering you on in the background :)
Do you guys use boxes or poly mailers to ship your wholesale items? If Polymailers what size do you use? I need to purchase some I just don't know which size
Hi there! We use polymailers to ship our wholesale, but do know some who use boxes. We use different sizes sometimes, and also compress the items to be as small as possible. 17x22, 19x24 & 24x24 would likely be the best options to try out and see what works for your items shipping style!
@@TrashPandasThrift thank you! You're the best 🫶🏼
65K each after taxes and expenses is amazing… probably almost equivalent to a job with a salary of 100k. Well-done!
Thank you for your comment! And for watching :)
New subscriber here. Such a refreshing video! I love your infectious enthusiasm! I’m looking forward to watching more of your content to find out about style based sourcing. There’s definitely more skill involved in what you are doing than focusing on brand and sell through. Thanks again.
Hi! You’re very welcome and thank you for the kind words :) We have a few videos here on styles trends and keywords and so much more to come!
Thank you for this video! I have a death pile I need to get rid of lol I'm just scared because I've tried Poshmark lives and didn't have a good experience. But I also wasn't consistent! Thanks for the inspiration ❤
You’re so welcome! We both think whatnot can be such a great tool in the reseller tool belt - from clearing out inventory to being a full time main platform. So happy you enjoyed this video :)
@@TrashPandasThrift yes I need to clear out a huge death pile I have and I want to transition into wholesale & live whatnot shows... I'm just scared no one will buy in my shows but I guess that's the part that takes time to build. I just get discouraged so fast 😭
I totally hear you! Sometimes we’ve seen sellers take off really quickly (ourselves included) and sometimes it takes a month or two of consistent work to start building that community and having bids go up. I really love the platform though and think it can be a great addition for so many resellers!
@@TrashPandasThrifthow do you build an audience to get people into your whatnot shows if you don’t have a big following
I'm going to the bins for the first time here in Phoenix next week. I went to the one in Denver back in 2018 but these tips help a lot. Could you do a video of brands to look for or do you have one already?
Hi! I do have a few brand videos out - I talk a ton about brands on my Instagram too @trashpandasthrift
@@TrashPandasThrift Thank you so much! I will go take a look 🙏

Whatnot has a good analytics tab that breaks down your sales - we don’t personally keep any kind of spreadsheet for individual pieces though.
Sean, love the new do!!!

I would love you to go through the different types of goth !
I have been to the bins several times over the years, but I remember my very first time going I was probably there for like 30 minutes so overwhelmed, it was hectic, and I just left with 2 items haha. I thought this won't be my place, but after learning some of these things you have mentioned I learned it's the place to source! I second on getting there earlier than open because EVERY single bin is fresh so it's an opportunity for good inventory no-one has touched yet. I find good shoes that way sometimes! 😀
My first time was also so crazy I didn’t even buy anything! I totally get you and love that you’ve been able to start seeing it as an opportunity for your business :)
