    Pan and tilt are not consistent when shooting handheld. The stebilization looks great but the camera does not lend itself to the user when panning and tilting.

    Maybe for video. Panasonic just doesn't have the market penetration and mind share to seriously compete with Sony and Canon on the photography front. Even if it is a superior camera. I'm rooting for them, but don't have high hopes.

    So many shills with the gh7 flood on KZread. Easy pass since I have the gh6 as a Filmmaker. If you desperately need autofocus then gh7 is a fine camera. Otherwise an easy pass for me. My atomos ninjav plus kicks ass in 12 bit raw

    To be honest 8K @60p today is what’s expected for flagships. Look at Nikon and in particular canon and their R5C that has been around 3 plus years and is 8K 60 P. You don’t have to shoot 8K. Shoot your preferred 6K at 30 or whatever. But if you’re doing action or a stage show. Is nice to be able to zoom in and get a closer grab or frame correction. In very low light I have shot in higher ISO setting on the highest 6K. When I downsize or down sample to 4K. It looks so much cleaner. I did that for 1080 days for customers from 4K capture.

    The camera is awesome if you like a micro 4/3 sensor… Which I don’t. The lowlight results suck and there’s lots of noise in the darks.

    At first I couldn't believe it. Then someone showed me on the internet. Panasonic believes the gh series is thier flagship cameras. That means panasonic thinks micro is better than full frame. It makes us look like amerature.

    Thanks dude... came from M43 with Olympus E-M5 in 2012 ... then camera hire then production in 2018 with GH5, A7 III and so on. M43 will never die, it's an essential tool. I've been looking recently at the Fujifilm 50R feverishly for a different look. Forgive me for my sins but I bought the X100V to understand the hype and now I get it... I think GH9 taps into it too, from my POV, it's about less post process on desktop and more about in camera or phone tweak and release. Take it easy man!

    I sold my S5II for the A7S3, The S5II has too many quirks, the a7s3 is still the cheapest only of its kind (besides the ZVE1), I do need the clean high framerates with minimal crop and it's still the only camera that offers it, however if the S1H2 does come out with similar specs but 6k! I will buy it. I love VLOG more than SLOG3, I like the IBIS more, but alas, the camera gets me paid based off the specs, and having 4k 60 crop to 1.5x and 1080 60 to get around that crop not having ANY new PDAF autofocus is just rather sad.

    Does Panasonic has a camera as good as the Venice or the Burano, or even the FX9? The answer is no! So if your goal is only small budget production, why not use a Panasonic, but otherwise, if you planned to evolve in your filmmaking career, don't waste your time and money and stay with Sony...or Red or Arri (that's the 3 best brands to invest in filmmaking gear right now). Sony has one big advantage compared to Red and Arri: their cameras line up! you can find a camera for every stage in your career. If I tell you that, it's because I made the same mistake, I switched brands so many times, and lost so many money... Right now, I own a FX3 & FX6, and do I think I have the best cameras? Absolutely no! I almost sold them last week😅, but I realized it was a big mistake for the reasons I said earlier. And one other advantage wit Sony, is working with other productions. In my country almost 90% of video production compagnies own Sony gear, so they prefer to work with people owning the same gear as them. I had a Blackmagic and Canon before and sometimes I lost projects for this exact reason.

  • @alvincamera
    @alvincamera14 күн бұрын

    then that's depend on every country production no? many production house and a serious film production in my place using panasonic for budget stuff or just rent alexa or red for highend stuff.

    People already invested a lot in Sony gear, I'm not sure it will kill anything...I'm not a Sony fanboy at all (honestly I prefer the image from Panasonic), but Sony has a better cameras line up (fx3-fx6-fx9-burano-venice 1&2) and better lenses...I love Panasonic, but as a filmmaker who wants to evolve, choosing Sony is a much better investment. And when the FX3 mk II or FX6/FX9 mk II will come out, KZreadrs will say the same as you "the new S2H killer...blablaba"

    Internal ND systems (especially full frame open gate) take up far more room in a camera body than folks tend to imagine. You must have enough vertical or horizontal space to slide the ND out of the way when not in use. But in general I think Panasonic will have its hands full developing a camera which competes well with the mirrorless competitors to come.

    On CineD interview as I remember, they said ARRI Log C will be exclusive on GH7. Internal ND's on Mirrorless body, I think that'll take time. But L Mount alliance can produce a Canon like adapter with ND with a mch feature. 'Optical Low Pass Filter' is a must on those lines.

    Left lumix recently because the image quality out of the S5 Mark 2X was garbage, the moire was bad, and the HDMI lag was unusable. Currently waiting on new cameras to release. Honestly, the S1 H and the S5 Mark one kick the shit out of the current Lumix lineup in terms of image quality

    Since there are several S1, S5 and a S9, the higher number signalize lower tier. This looks like S2H will not work and they have to use S1H-II. I expect the body will be a bit smaller, get a very fast sensor and Arri log might be possible because the S1H-II will still be the smaller addition to the real Arri. The question about dual native ISO or DR-Boost seems to be the same as the question if they get a modern Sony-sensor or build their own together with the partner that also made the 25MP MFT sensors. They have a patent for ND-Filters that rotate out of the way. This would make the body just a bit larger. Big question is also if they go up with the resolution or stay around the 24MP. May be the S1R-II get 8k30p just to have this check mark but for the real film work, fast 6k and 4k is much more important. I also think that 4k based on over-sampled 6k is better than the 4k with one by one pixel readout.

    Sony has good PDAF on FX39 en FX3. The FX3 is king of low light and dynamic range. Problem with Panasonic is their FF sensors are sourced from Sony, so both Nikon and Sony does. So, as all others manufacturer, they have a crop at 60p., but also have dual ISo functionality. The Dynamic Boost uses dual gain functionality which is different as dual native iso. De question is to whom is the S1H mark 2 is marketed and which are their competitors?

    friend, tell me, you mentioned that it’s so cool that m4|3 can shoot open gates 5.8k what’s wrong with that? Nikon Z8 can do 8K? Well, to be honest, the GH7 is a failure. G9II battery life is up to an hour longer and easier! I think Gh7 could only be carried out by nd filters, but I think this will happen in about 3 years at the earliest. They were just patented for SH2, they will first appear in them and then in 4/3
