To me it seems that American companies don't save a dime when things are good, so when bad times come they go out of business. I guess those bonuses that CEO's get paid are the problem. And now bad time has come again, hopefully Harley will finally go under. Yes I hate Harley.

Yep sounds about right with Harley. Build anything but that D V twin and the old fart have a cow. And this is the reason I'll buy Triumph and not HD.

The weird geometry of the tank, and the potential of having a non-flat seat with some character in it is half of why I really like the K series cafe racers. The other half is the brick engine, there's just nothing else like it, and it's an interesting solid shape as opposed to all the weird variations of twin engines that almost exclusively leave that weird gap under the back end of the fuel tank where the air pods are usually mounted. So in a way, it's kind of a backwards aesthetic; the engine has really good lines and fills the right amount of space, and the tank and seat are the awkward shapes.

Engine temperature in bars is because many bikes run so hot that people panic when it would read over 100degrees celsius in traffic. Just giving bars is better for most people.

Yeah I replaced the exhaust when I had an 08. Headers to mufflers. It was kind of annoying to do. So I appreciate this video and your patience. Now I am back in the fold with an '16 R. Feels good. I am sure Triumph has made this process even more annoying.😂

Erik Buell speaking about the ending of Buell is one of the saddest things I've ever seen in my life. Erik Buell is the kind of guy I'd love to have worked for as an engineer. Too bad I was building data networks at the time and getting paid mad dough for it, I just never had any time to spend any of it.

I'm surprised because I've dismissed Buell as a Harley castoff in the past. Then, I bought a Honda Shadow Aero about 15 years ago cuz I needed transportation and my wife wanted to ride on the back of a cruiser. Now, I've had to close my security consulting firm due to disability from my military service. So, I am able to ride some times and I want a naked sport bike. Re-enter Buell! We'll see, my 2 favorite words, ok, one's a contraction! Because, I'm leaning toward the Honda CB1000R, since I've been a Honda guy since the 70s and I TRUST HONDA. We'll see. Told you I liked those 2 words! Great video series.

This era speed is notorious for starting issues due to the battery not having enough CCA and are known to damage the sprag, lithium batteries are a recommended swap from many forums. The other issue is batteries get swapped out for lead acid and others, but aren't designed to be laid flat which the speed triple install is.
@JamesParus10 күн бұрын
If you live in cold climate like finland and bike stays outside in like 5degrees night lithium will not work well. It's too cold to crank it. Motobatt regular battery works well. One issue is stock regulator has low charging level so agm battery will never charge to full. Changing to mosfet regulator makes voltage higher and makes it possible to use agm battery

I just cant deal with the idea of $2200 a pop service and that is only if everything is still A okay who knows how much some are paying if they have to tear off the tops of the motor....or worse. I have heard riders mentioning thier ducati buddy's bike "sucked a valve" but the actual rider themselves when you finally see em many weeks later? They dont seem interested in discussing. I think I'll just keep the Ducs out of my own life thank you....and Ferrari and Mazaratti too!

Was left on a property for years, abandoned in a shed. Was given to me by the property owner. It seems to be in really good shape. Maybe somehow we can link up and go over this bike. I'd happily pay you for your time. I have a truck and could bring the bike to you. Or you could take a nice ride up here. Anyhow, I'd love to meet you and learn some cool shit about this bike.

Njoy the Bike, I also have an 07 Triple it’s the best looking bike for me too! I changed the shiftpedal for a Yamaha YZ 80 pedal. I changed my stator and regulator and removed the connectors. How "necessary" were they really back in the day, if only 2 Merc race cars ran them? I hear the metallurgy argument but really.. 2 race cars... that's it. I love the system, it has an Industrial Revolution clickity-clack contraption appeal to it, but $3000 in valve servicing after 13,000 miles? The system needs to address the harshness of how it works. One could say the problem is METALLURGY.
