와.. 그의 이번 발라드 1번 연주는 정말 내 취향이네. 들어본 발라드1번중에서 손에꼽을 명연주. 루빈스타인이나 짐머만에 비해 피아니시모가 일단 살아있다. 호로비츠의 포르티시모는 원래 다른 연주자들에 비해 너무 좋은 편인데, 그의 쇼팽 연주에서는 피아니시모가 너무 좋다보니 다이나믹이 비교할수 없이 좋고. 루바토를 적절하게 써서 부드러울땐 너무 부드럽고. 프레이징은 음악으로 표현되었을뿐이지 그의 연주는 거의 말하는것에 가까울정도로 한편의 소설과 같은 연주다. 호로비츠의 발라드1번에 비해 현대의 다른 거장들 연주를 들어보면 아직도 말하는거라고 생각든다기보다는 연주한다고 생각이 듭니다. 거기에 1968년 연주라 옛날느낌이 확 나서 영상을 보지않고 눈감고 음악만 들어보면 이건 뭐 쇼팽 본인이 연주했다고 해도 믿을정도의 해석을 보여준다. 호로비츠하면 라흐마니노프나 스크라빈, 리스트, 차이코프스키를 떠올리는 사람들이 많던데 내 생각은 조금 다르다. 그는 의외로 쇼팽이나 슈베르트에 최고 강점이 있는 피아니스트일수도 있다는 생각이 듭니다. 특히 지금까지 그가 들려줬던 쇼팽은 한번도 실망한적이 없는 해석에 있어서는 이보다 더 나은 해석이 있을까 싶을정도의 정말정말 멋진 연주밖에 없었다. 인상을 쓰며 온몸을 비틀면서 표현하는 현대 피아니스트들보다 무덤덤하게 옛날스타일로 큰 제스처를 취하지 않으면서도 온전히 음악적인 부분에만 신경쓰는 호로비츠가 더욱 다이나믹이나 프레이징이 섬세하게 들리는게 신기하다

When he was 18-19 and first results of Russian revolution came about, he played for food in order not to die of hunger. Fortunately he managed to escape from Bolshevism and grew up into one of the best pianist ever.

Amazing... Best pianists are happy when they can play it at all and George plays it faster than any one (from what I remember) and also has great interpretation and inner voices in this thing. People are just afraid to play this thing, since they worry that they can end up like Schumann himself. I also admire Chiffra's Liszt (a fellow Hungarian), and I am afraid that nobody today can play the Valse-Impromptu like him: kzread.info/dash/bejne/oIZ4l7Srkc-pl6Q.html

[ Canada Homeless Challenges Rubinstein ] How to challenge Rubinstein? 1. Have to change m26,m28,m38,m40 fingerings. 2. Advise to change m42,m44 fingerings. 3. Throw Chopin etudes, Liszt etudes, concert etudes etc. Practice Op.740/1,12,49,50. 4. Never use finger 1,4 to play black key octave. 5. Only use finger 1,5 to play black key octave and white key octave. Octave tech. is 100% wrist Tech. 6. 200 years ago, finger action with quiet hand is more important than hand action with quiet finger. 7. My new piano theory is wrist tech. more important than finger tech.. 8. U of A professors advised students to practice Chopin Etude op.25/6. It is wrong. Playing Beethoven thirds, Op.299 is enough. Playing Mozart piano concerto thirds, Op. 740/10,34,39 first page is enough.

In quanto pianista il solo elemento che mi colpisce in tutte le esecuzioni di ABM e' lo strumento con cui suona: il pianoforte è preparato dai maestri accordatori e preparatori in modo perfetto; l'intonazione dello strumento e la conseguente gamma dinamica potenziale sono eccezionali e rarissime ( se non uniche).

Восхищаюсь Оркестром и дирижером!!! Рихтер играет совершенно! В своей манере- без поэтизации Моцарта, утонченности звука, чувств. Но его Моцарт объективно идеален.

Saw him twice growing up. He believed that the music conveyed the emotion the composer wished to express. Other means of expression distracted or modified this intention much the same as changing notes or phrasing would.. If you want to express your own emotions write your own music. That is what he said to Glen Gould.
