Thanks
Never seen that style of hinge wonder what you might use that on.
@@maintenanceman1015 Hi, it's used on tilt and turn windows and doors. 👍
🎉
Thanks i opened it the wrong way and was about to take back to the store saying i was given 2 left hinges😂
We hear it all the time 🤣 glad we could help 👌
We can skip ALL THE TIME you're screwing around
Sure you can 😊
👌
Hey, do you guys buy windows already tinted or you do it yourselves ? And is there any difference in quality If one applies it in their own shop?
Very helpful , Thankyou
Very welcome 😊
What window design software do you use ?

hello , can a copy router be used to create the water drainage slots?
Hi, yes it can 👍
So how do I adjust it if it is too low?
Hi, you can adjust the door via the hinge adjustment or re-pack the glazing to pull the door back into alignment.
Thank you
Very welcome 🤗
what tool do you guys use to punch the interlock for windows ?
Can you elaborate on interlock ?

How long would it take someone to learn upvc window manufacturing?
Around 2-3 months but everyone is different.
Can you one day show us your shop ? How big is it and what essential areas and tools you have .thanks

Thank you so much

Any tips for when you don’t have a vice?
Hi, unfortunately not as they are fixed in there solid, sorry.
Why do all this we you can just install a new and open the window
To gain easier access to repair the window when the lock has failed.
Hello, thank you for this video and taking the time to answer questions. I'd like to know if the restrictor stops the door from slamming shut. Thank you.
Hi, it doesn't but we do offer a similar restrictor which does... www.double-glazing-parts-spares.co.uk/Hold-Open-Door-Restrictor
That's why that side is the inside of the window and now the outside... 🤦♂️🤦♂️
Excellent thanks ♥
Very welcome 😊
Hi there, over the last few years a few of my Windows won’t open. The handle turns but the window won’t push open. One by one this has been happening and now I have 3 Windows that won’t open! Is this likely to be that the spindles have worn over time? Can I buy replacement spindles from you, or is it easier just to buy a new handle? I’m thinking of replacing all the handles on my Windows as it’s probably a matter of time before they all ending up going!
Hi, it could be the spindles have worn or the actual locking mechanism is broken, try a good handle in a window that doesn't work to see which is the issue. Send some images over to [email protected] for lock identification if you find it's the lock, but yes easier to replace the whole handle rather than the spindles themselves. Regards Steven
@@DGPSUK thanks for the reply. Do you need any pictures in particular?
@@DGPSUK hi there, I’ve emailed some pics over to you now, I think it could be the locking mechanism!
I'd watched this video about 20 times before I attempted on my windows. I got a 13mm HSS bit especially for the job, but it would sometimes catch in my uPVC and my hand drill struggled, so in the end I used an oscillating multitool which worked much better. I marked out the template on masking tape as my window frames are black, then cut carefully along the lines. I used a smaller drill bit for the rounded edges. Hope someone else finds this useful. Actually quite straightforward once you know what you're doing.
Thank you for the great info, 😊😊
Where can it be bought please?
Hi what size do you need. Steven
Thank you, just changed my handle, thank you
Very welcome and thank you for commenting 😊
My screw become blunt as i screw into the door frame as it seems solid. Any suggestions?
Hi, could you send an image of the issue to [email protected] 😊
Are the end caps removable? I have had mone pop off when my footgot trapped in the door, and trying to reattach it before anyone notices 😂
Yes they are 😊
@DGPSUK thank you 😂 I didn't know if they were clip once and that's it. I managed to get it off and back on. Thanks again
@@MissMalikaA yes exactly although some suppliers super glue them on 🙄
Filmed to far away
Hi, if you need any extra close up shots of a certain detail just let me know 👍 all feedback welcome 🤗
Tried everything per instructions, yet the mid post structure would not remove. Any suggestions, as I couldn't find any further hidden screws !
Hi, can you see the screws?, send me some images to [email protected]
@@DGPSUK Hi, many thanks will have a closer look tomorrow.
@@Theflowoflove it could be the type where you need to remove the glass pane to get to the screws, some companies do it that way to conceal the screws.
@@DGPSUK Thank you so much. You are very helpful. BR
@@Theflowoflove absolutely no problem at all 😊 always happy to help
Thanks the most informative on youtube.
Thank you 😊
I can't even remove the cover cap!
Hi send me an image to [email protected]
@@DGPSUK I managed it in the end! However, I appreciate your swift response! Thank you
@@steveaga4683 excellent 👌 and very welcome
@@DGPSUK As I said, I managed to remove the handle, but I still can't get the mechanism to work. Window is still shut in the partially open stage! Looks like the whole mechanism inside the window is buggered!
@@steveaga4683 can you email me an image of the lock and I'll identify it for you 👍
I am not skilled at all and was already thinking in paying a handyman to change my window handle but I decided to check youtube for a video that could help me do the job.And yours was by far the easiest and most clear video.Went to the shops bought the handle and in 20minutes the job was done.Thank you for having the time to post such fantastic and helpfull videos.
Many thanks, means a lot. I do these at the weekend on request and a few extra videos of what i think would help people 😊 so these comments make it all worthwhile. Thank you
is this left or right handle i got a universal one but does turn the other way round
These are non handed so suit both ways. Normally handed handles are a cranked shape.
@DGPSUK I had a daft question - bought a universal handle. I want to open to left, so locked when inline with the mechanism (down) and left and open. Atm it is going to the top to open. Is it upside down? How does it 'know' which way around it is working? Do I need to spin the spindle? Sorry daft I know.
@@lucylindsay3442 Hi are you installing the handle different to what it was originally, if so you need to remove the lock and reverse it, you will also need to move the locking keeps. Let me know if you would like a video done to show what I mean. 👍
Thank you - definitely was being daft but I finally have a replaced handle. V. V. Helpful video (although cutting the screws was also 'fun').
My top bathroom window handle was just flopping about with the window locked, the handle not doing anything. Took it off with the two screws. The spindle had almost disappeared into the mechanism. Had to fish it out with some tweezers. Tapped it back in to the handle as it appears to be a friction fit. Refitted it with a bit of difficulty. With the window open fitted the handle in the open position and all is good. Makes you wonder if a longer spindle should have been fittted in the first place. Is it a common thing these spindles working loose?
Hi, yes it's fairly common for the spindles to get stuck in the locks, we see it a lot in our coastal area due to the salt air. The spindle should be long enough to just pop out the other side of the lock when installed.
Looks great just what I’m looking for can I use something like “Sticks Like Sh*t” to secure it ?
Yes that works well to stick it down 👍 or even a decent silicone 👍
are shashes reinforced as well ? example in a 4x4 window
Yes we do
Do you have a video on how to adjust door on this particular hinges please
We don't have one at present but I'll put it on my list...This may help kzread.info/dash/bejne/aoajtKtyp7S2nZc.htmlsi=wX0imY6FC4JaOHLv
what size screws
Hi, we use 3.9 x 32mm
are they self drilling@@DGPSUK
@@aldavis2692 yes self drilling as there should be reinforcement in the frames 👍
I can only dfind 4mmx 32 will these do @@DGPSUK
@@DGPSUK are the measurements the same for 90 degree oppening 110 from edge thank you
hey quick question are upvc profiles always reinforced or is it only used at certain lengths ?
Hi, we prefer to reinforce all our windows, some companies only use it at certain lengths as you mention, more so with white. All colour/foiled frames should be reinforced.
thanks a million @@DGPSUK
@@jovandesmond8319 no problem at all 👍👍👍
@@DGPSUK do you know the cost of upvc profile systems from suppliers ? cost per tonne or length ?
@@jovandesmond8319 all suppliers/extruders price differently, we have our own tailored price list from our profile supplier.
My screw centres are 165mm. Can't find any handles anywhere?.
Hi, we can supply them but only in Chrome, they were discontinued around 8 years ago.
Excellent thankyou 😃
Very welcome 😊
This is great but try this on my brown door that's right up against the wall...
Ah yes not so easy 😞
@@DGPSUK Thanks for the great vid, I managed to get a torch down the wall to see things and now the key turns like silk 👍🏽
@@ChrisTheSparky excellent I'm glad these videos help, even just to point anyone in the right direction 😊
When it comes to the cutting of glass ? What type of glass is used and is it done with hand tools or machine only?
We no longer manufacture our own glass, it's all bought in ready made but there are very many options of glass to choose from. We did hand cut all of our glass. The standard DGU we use is: 4/20/4 (28mm overall) 4mm clear float 20mm warm edge spacer bar 4mm clear float Low e Argon filled
@@DGPSUK what's tools do you use for cutting the 4mm float glass ?
@@jovandesmond8319 diamond tipped cutter and a long set square designed for glass
Yeah that's crazy bro. Explains a lot 😂😁😂 Each to their own though, if it makes you happy 😊
Yes, definitely odd 😂😂😂
whats the best way to go about leaning to fabricate windows? are there teaching sessions available to your knowledge ?
Hi, I don't believe there is such a thing as teaching sessions for specifically fabrication, but you could maybe try offering a company some of your free time in a factory that manufactures windows and doors to gain extra knowledge 🤷
is there a tool to drill the three handle holes without a huge machine ?
Hi, not one that I've seen but I suppose you could easily rig up a small template and use an 8mm & 10mm drill bit
@@DGPSUK ok thanks 👍🏿
are your mullions welded to the upvc frames or drilled into it ? thanks
Hi, we manufacture both options welded and mechanically jointed. I personally prefer the mechanically jointed look 👍
My back door opens outwards, and gets battered against the sill in the wind. Would this be strong enough to withstand a gust?
Hi, it will stop the door going by 90 degrees but doesn't hold the door open.
