This annoying issue is very common when the latch plate eventually overtime works its way loose and the result is the door not being able to latch properly which in some locks doesn't allow you to lock the door.
A few simple turns with an Allen key or a PH2 screw bit and adjust the latch towards you this will get the door latching again.
It could be the latch plate has actually broken off in this case its as simple as buying a new latch plate and replacing it, we can help with this if this is the case all we will need is some images of the door lock assembly which you can send to sales@dgpsuk.com
