Welcome in my Paper Kingdom ! I'm Laetitia Miéral, a Paper Magician and I live in Saint Etienne, France. You will see on this channel art in progress, my life as a paper artist, exhibitions, my interest for old, forgotten fairy tales, old papers of all kind, history and the XVIIIth Century which is a passion of mine since I'm a child.
You can also from time to time see videos of my home and seasonal festive decor.
I created paper sculptures , characters, dollhouses, Paper Castles, Carriages, Dresses .... all in paper, showed in art galleries, antic shops but also Castles and Museums in France ( and also online ) ..... since 2003.

Your Fairies are perfect. I always loved stories about witches more than any other. Usually, it was about one good witch in the middle of a lot really, really bad once. I can see how this is much fun for you. ❤

For my graphic novels, I do about 400 drawings a year. The panels are on 17x14 paper, so about 6 frames per drawing. After about 10,000 drawings, you get very, very tired of young and beautiful. I'm always delighted to draw an old person or an ethnic person. I like drawing unusual faces, as well. Here, they've started calling the old kind of fair folk, "the fey," I think because of Disney movies. Did you look at Alan Lee's work? His Faeries book is especially full of fun old critters.
yes I can imagine that10000 drawings of beautiful princesses..... that would be my hell old and ugly can be very refreshing and much more interesting ! yes Ive seen his drawings it's very beautiful!

Thank you !I definitely never meant that , now those fairies were old and ugly so I didn't want them to be young princesses like they always do in cinema and films these days where ugliness has disappeared from all screens. For a bit of context in the XVII th th century old age definitely meant ugliness, it appears a lot in novels, and letters memoirs and faiy tales;, also because of their health and poor nourishment,and the medical progress people had to go through way more sicknesses, and skin sicknesses, mouth problems, teeths issues ......that could amplify the aging and damage the face and increase the ugliness.

I love all your art. I have a question. You seem to make everything so effortlessly beautiful. Do you ever mess up and have to start over?
Thank you ! sometimes Im not happy with my first result but I rarely have to start over I usually try to improve what I have started and usually it works , once in while if I have a real technical problem I might start over like for a castle but it wouldn't be the case for characters .and most of my art .
