    enjoying it for a second and third time....probably more and more times. I get so much inspiration from your design ideas. I too am slow and drift away from my plans for the day...smile...I like to paint in watercolors and have several little areas where I like to paint. I have started putting an embroidered tablecloth over my table full of paper and paint to make it look better and out of site but not put away. When I clean up my area of paints it feels sad and discouraging because I don't want to start again. so leaving it all out and covered is how I handle it. It's like a fairy land under a pretty coverlet . ( My handsome cat The Captain , has passed away this year at a very young age of 7...he adored getting a glimpse of your pretty little feline..he told me he hoped to meet her one day ) Thank you for sharing all your beautiful ideas. the mrs. widow of bigjac.

    Laetitia! Your room is SO elegant....and you completed all that work in only 13 days. Remarkable. The soft ivory with the quieter gold is indeed very sophisticated. And the way you patched the wallpaper is so professional. It is lovely to see you in your pretty white dress drinking your tea and simply enjoying this wonderful transformation. Thank you, I feel as though I've flown to the other side of the world and peeped in to look!

    A tip for when you use masking tape is to first paint with the same paint of the door or wall, let it dry and then go over it with the paint you want to use, in this case gold. It won't leak underneath the tape this way :)

    Oh how beautiful it all looks. Definitely worth the wait. I've been in my home for 5.5 years and had to paint everything before moving in, so I just got white paint and did the whole house. Now I've decided what colours I want so am starting to buy the paints. Your loungeroom looks STUNNING and I love the gold trim. I agree that for a piece of furniture, or anything really, it has to be 100 years old or more to qualify for an antique. Many people get confused with replicas and think because it looks old doesn't necessarily mean it's old. Looking forward your next episode. Hugs Liana 🤗 xx

The use though is very different, I replied to another comment below who was wondering why I was saying that, for one simple reason I hear people(including people I know ) miisusing this word along with antiqueshop, ALL THE TIME, confusing antique with vintage with second hand, with "look old" so it is antique I just wanted to clarify somthing which I know is obvious for a lot of people but believe me not everyone ;)

    Do you find it difficult using gold metallic paint? When I decorated my house similar to Versailles painters in America are not well experienced using it and a good brand is hard to find.

  • @Merveillesenpapier

    @Merveillesenpapier

    9 ай бұрын

    I'm of course not a professional, so I did my best but yes I would say it's more difficult , because these paints have to be remixed all the time because of the heaviness of the metallic pigments I suppose which constantly fall at the bottom of the jar. I imagine normal painters wouldn't necesarily know how to do these specific golden paint in the style of 17th , 18th castle decor unless ther are trained for them.

    I mentioned that because talking to friends and clients from english speaking countries througout the years , I realized quite often they were using this word with a more "flexible " way than us hereand sometimes in a completely wrong way, and were using it very often to talk about a vintage object or piece of furniture which would never receive the words antique here. You check even on you tube there are tons of videos where people misuse this word all the time.It's not all in my mind. Words can be translated the same way theorically and be used pratically in a different way , bread in France and bread in England doesn't mean the same thing.

    I have a few projects that need to be completed. Watching your renovations gives me the inspiration to finish so I’m in the process of starting one! Your apartment looks so nice 😊you’ve done a great job! It does not matter how long it takes, you’ve completed it, that is the important part. Now relax and enjoy 😉 🫖

    Thank you Brooke, Oh nice if it has inspired you! Yes as times goes by, I mind less and less that projects take long and enjoy actually being in the middle of them and enjoying making little progress everyday whether for my home but also for my artistic projects and work! Thank you :))
