    Great video Gary very thorough , well filmed and a well executed job . If I had a mechanic like you I’d be happy to pay to have it done , alas that’s why I’m going to give it a crack myself . Can you remember the brand of the aftermarket new strut you installed and if the driver was happy with its performance . Did you change the left side too ? All the best nick

    The best intake removal video by far. Now i know where the clip goes that i found deep in the valley for one of the fuel return hose. Have you thought about deleting that thing . You would probably make a great video as well. Maybe also a fuel pump failure prevention kit as well. Great work !

    Just get new ones from Rock Auto or someplace like that. It’s common for these to become intermittent before failing completely. It a crap shoot to get one from a wrecker. They should refund you.

    To gain access to the master cylinder, what I did was cut the plastic where they narrowed at the grilles (2 points). The grille/cover can be flipped up as they hinge on the long piece of rubber. In summary, once those 2 pieces of narrow plastic were cut, all I had to do was lift the segment of that rubberized foam hood gasket then lift the grille/cover then the master cylinder is fully accessible.

  • @garysgarage2118

    Yes. When you turn on the ignition without your foot on the brake, the fuel pump will run for approximately 2 sec. Do that 8 times and you should be good to go. If there is a little air left it will just be a longer crank time.

    I have a 2008 Santa Fe. All locks work normal except the driver's side will not unlock from outside with either fob or key only from inside handle. I can hear the kerklunk on drivers door when I press the unlock on the fob but to unlock i have to use the the inside latch. Is this the actuator or a disconnected cable problem?

  • @garysgarage2118

    It is hard to diagnose without testing the car in person. But the actuators are a very common problem with these cars. I replace three on my car. Both fronts and one rear.

    If you fill it to the top it is easy to spill. Adding oil shortens the time with no oil pressure.

  • @garysgarage2118
    @garysgarage21183 ай бұрын

    You should still be able to unlock it manually. If not the latch release may be broken. In that case get a replacement door card from a wrecker before you start in case you break yours. You need to remove it to get at the cables. But try removing the inside latch and pull in the cables directly.

    I just did this in my 2007 Santa fe and it fixed the random fluctuating fan speeds that was driving me crazy, also another tip for those of you with ocd (Like me) while you have the hvac panel out its a good opportunity to clean the knobs. They have tiny little grooves in them that get filled with disgusting gunk i used a toothpick for that and it worked quite well just hold the hvac panel upside down while you do this so the gunk doesnt fall back down onto the panel and possibly into the circuit board, then give the knobs a good wipe down with an alcohol wipe or something similar, and your knobs will be nice and clean.

  • @garysgarage2118
