Can’t you sharpen the top of the old teeth at least one time ? Maybe worth to try once?

Mr. Clevinger, When replacing your carbide teeth, what are the bolt torque specs you use while doing a full replacement. I am currently changing out a set of teeth on my Vail drum mulcher and my owners manual does not specify the torque. I was told to torque them to good and tight, but as a prior crew chief on UH60L's that does not sit right with me. Thank you in advance, Chris

Gross vehicle weight rating is for your truck. Your trailer is another story. You need a class B CDL to operate a truck that is rated for over 26,000 lbs. but your truck doesn’t weigh that much. You need a class A CDL to pull a trailer rated for over 10,000 lbs. You would need a CDL to legally pull your trailer empty let alone with equipment on it. I don’t agree with it, but that’s a $10,000 fine right there. Just fair warning for all who read this.

I made these videos primarily for customers to see what is possible with forestry mulching, and since KZread is owned by Google, my videos got a lot of hits when customers searched for brush clearing. So that achieved that goal. Other than that, videos took a lot of time to make and edit, and I had a business to run and family to give my time to. Making money from KZread videos was not cost effective for me.

Awesome tips! Would you be willing to explain how to price a job?
@clevingerforestservicesllc1164Ай бұрын
Estimating a job comes down to knowing your production rate. Production rate is the hours per acre it takes to mulch everything 6”-8” diameters and smaller. Factors that affect production rate are: type of material to be mulched, density of the material, terrain, and obstacles. When I first started mulching in 2014, I would clear an area, time myself, then walk the perimeter of the area I cleared using an App that calculated square footage. I would convert this time per square feet into Hours per Acre. When I went to a customers property, after looking at the area they wanted cleared (and factoring in the type, density, terrain, and obstacles) and them telling me the acres they had, I would calculate a cost estimate from that. Since the stated acres, or guessed at acres, was such a variable, this is why I would tell customers a Cost per Acre and then work by the hour.
@user-zi9fu1uz6b5 ай бұрын
What kind of trees was it that you mulched? We are about to have a section of our property mulched, and it is 95% pines. The property is cut over property. The regrowth is all natural, probably about 10 to 15 years of regrowth I would guess. Just wondering how the pine mulch will break down over the next year or so. We are located in central Mississippi. Thanks!
