    Great video, really like the new interior colour option! Just to let you know though; I have a late MY24 C40 (delivered April just gone), running AAOS 3.0.3, and have both the adaptive pedal response option and the choice between "vibration" and "steering and vibration" in my options. I've had both of these options since delivery, so the late 2.x software versions. Might be initially specific to the new motor/drivetrain cars, as the MY24 and MY35 share the same setup? Or might just be software. Anyone with a C40 MY22/23 already have these options too?

    Is the performance package included in all new EC40 models, or is it sold separately like in the other C40 models?

    The driver allert system is mandatory in the EU, and all those safety systems need to be turned on by the car as default when the car starts up. Volvo is only applying to the eu laws. But a car withouth a dashboard display behind the wheel or atleast a very good versatile HUD is not an option. The reason Tesla started this hype has only a single reason. Cutting costs. Thats why i parked my attempts to buy this car.

    Definitely. It's exactly the same car. Sort of.. Same but different. Maybe I'm just tired of the more conservative XC40 looks, and more drawn towards the sporty exterior on the EC40.. I'm Mesmerised by the exterior design 🤣🤣 But your absolutely correct. It's basically the same

    I've followed you primarily for your EX30 videos. However, I'm particularly happy to see this video today. Since we have no idea if the USA will ever see the EX30... I will be test-driving a Polestar 2 this afternoon. A brother to that very car... This isn't a direction I thought I could afford to take... but given Polestar's generous deals/incentives I think if I like it. I just might pull the trigger.

  • @volvo_kristian

    Glad to hear. Honestly your not going wrong there.. The Polestar 2 are a wonderful car. More sports oriented then Volvo's EC/EX40. Yes it's slightly more cramped but you gain much in terms of driving dynamics. If you can make a good deal then that sounds like a easy choice.

    What is the frequency suspension?

  • @volvo_kristian
    @volvo_kristianКүн бұрын

    @bernardrr It's something they added for the MY25 Electric versions. It's like active suspension, but you as a driver don't have any influence on the settings. It "decides" for it self. On normal even roads the suspension gets slightly stiffer with less body motion for more comfort, and if your driving like over uneven surfaces with quick imperfections like cobblestones then the suspension gets slightly softer. It reacts to the surface, and adjust accordingly. Hope that was a good explanation 👍

    I feel your pain, I owned a 2013 S60 and I loved it and was sold on volvo as a brand, anyway the S60 was fine but just had too many miles so decided to go for the XC40 as the roads in the uk are terrible thinking this would be the answer, looks great and stands tall. I have had this car for 4 months also and I hate it now so much that it depresses me just thinking about driving it, it’s noisy and does not soak up the bumps like it should, but the worst thing is the highway if you go above 65mph the whole car vibrates and does not settle down until you reach around 85mph, I’ve had it looked at and the wheels balanced but no it still remains and I feel stuck with this car now for 5 years at £400 a month on finance. I want my S60 back as this XC40 is nothing more than a pile of 💩

    It may be possible that many of the issues could be fixed in software updates, yes the speedo should be in front of you, but maybe they could increase the font size to make it more legible at speed. Also, when going over the soeed limit of a certain road, give you an acoustic feedback to tell you to slow down. Maybe even improve the voice recognition to lower lights and other functions. For more practical things, yes the frunk should be bigger and the sensor to open the rear should have been standard.

    I do not agree, that the ugly thing is the price with this car. Maybe in Norway it‘s different to other countries. I my Country the EX/XC/C/EC40 has better value for a car compared with VW, Audi, Mercedes, BMW, Polstar and other cars with this spec and dynamics. Maybe Tesla 3/ Y is cheaper and more efficient, but has it’s downsides. Maybe BYD Seal is a good alternative, but different, since it’s a Sedan. However- I love my C40 Twin Ultimate Mj24.

    "I like colours, and as you see, I like Volvos" Sadly they don't come hand in hand...😂😢. Thanks for all your videos and looking forward to what is coming. Lint roller is exactly the word you were looking for😀. The car interior will be what you make it. Our blond XC60 started off with our 4week old baby and the car and child are almost 4 years now. The worst state it has been in is when we've had to hand it to the Volvo garage for maintenance. They are the filthiest bunch around that don't clean up after themselves! If the car is stuck with them for a few days there will be long term damage from their greasy paws and pens that requires parts to be changed.... If you know how to look after a car, a light interior is no problem, even with a filthy toddler A few wipes and a bit of cleaning is no problem. Just don't hand it to a Volvo garage in the UK...

    Actually, the Winter-50% is not that unique for EV. I now have a MG ZS EV and in cold winter driving the 8 km to work I get about 50% of the range as I would have in summer. All my gas cars I had over the years was about the same, when it is cold and you need to get some temperature up to de-ice it you will get 50% of the range on a tank of gas. Maybe if a had a garage this would be slightly better but that would be better on the MG too. And maybe if I had longer driving distance to work this would be slightly in advantage of a gas car. XC40 is not that average, nothing is more average than a Model Y or 3, it is imply impossible to drive anywhere without meeting a huge number of them, at least where I live north of Bergen/Norway. So what is not, the MG Cyberster of course, but winter is coming... Maybe the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N ?

  • @volvo_kristian
    @volvo_kristian3 күн бұрын

    Definitely. The 50% winter reduction aren't unique for XC40. That's a more EV drawback. It's just something I generally hate with EV's. There's hardly any difference on regular ICE cars.. Well I feel I'm seeing XC40's everywhere here in Oslo. That's why it's kinda generic. And average.. However the Tesla 3/Y that's like mosquitoes.. Literally everywhere. Often they bundle up when driving in queues. Especially the white ones 😂 like a bad infection.. or nightmare

    @@volvo_kristian At least in my experience there was a huge difference on my Opel Zafira (now replaved with an EV) that used about 50% more gas at -5 to -15 in winter when used to/from work. I had to to de-ice the car and get enough heat to get rid of moisture and with just a short drive, just over 7 km, this ehating part is a large part of the total energy used. But if you have a long drive to/from work the extra consumption would is a lot less
