Had my xc40 recharge twin for a month now, tried ultra rapid charging 3 times and it wont go over 137kw. To be honest I think its dodgy UK chargers! I still see a big drop in charge speed at 70% ish. I think they could improve this with software to keep it a smooth charge curve. 73% my xc40 draws 90kw then drops to 50ish kw at 75/76% until low 80% then starts dropping smoothly down to 30kw just before 90% It is that 90kw - 50kw drop I would like to see fixed. I have reported it Volvo though not heard anything back. Ionity 350w chargers

Great video, on my 2024 XC 40 twin, if I start at 46 percent battery. It will charge around 50 KWH through 70% if I start at 34% of battery it will charge around 100 KWH through 70 percent. The only explanation that I have come up with friends that know more than me is that Volvo is trying to minimize battery degradation from fast charging. That said, they have figured out that if you show up sub 10% that you can’t wait around forever and need a fast charge on the flipside if you show up at 45% you are not that desperate and they can, push you out. If there is another explanation, let me know. My frustration is that in Canada. The charging network is not robust to start with and if we ever get access to the Tesla chargers I will want a fast charge. It is also disappointing to see Polestar vehicles with the same hardware charging beside me at three times the rate through 90%. It is not transparent, for Volvo to publicize 200 KWH Capability without mentioning that they limit-to such an extreme. The car is becoming like an iPhone where you don’t get to think or adjust it and just get to use it😊

kristian have you had any issues with vibration above 75mph? it is insane on my my22, so sign up to 70mph..... yes i know thats the speed limit but there is no way it should shake and vibrate how much it does

Unfortunately higher weight means stiffer suspension. Same for all EVs.

If your coming from a V90 CC, then I completely understand why you say that. Especially if you had a CC with air suspension. Love that car. But it's a huge contrast to the C40. Shorter wheelbase and high weight at a higher centre of gravity affects this.

@@volvo_kristian in your C40 can you tell changes in road services and as a result get vibration through pedals or wheel and does it jerk side to side on minor road changes? I had 2 seat sports car but never felt such an unpleasant road vibration. It's not a wheel base issue just over damping or climate 2 tires adding to the issue?
