    I finally did it ... I finally finished the series (seeing as there never really was the final episode? Doesn't matter). Years late, but thanks for all these awesome episodes. I somehow discovered your play through during the pandemic, fell in love with the game and bought it. Now I have clocked over 800 hours in it, my islands don't look half as good as yours, but your videos have been and still are a constant inspiration! Maybe I will just start this series over. What a ride.

    Hi there. Thanks for this series. I am following along. Of all the things that confound me in this game, your jump up 6m onto the road in the blueprint designer is the most perplexing. How are you achieving this?

  • @WhatDarrenPlays
    @WhatDarrenPlays13 сағат бұрын

    Hm, I can’t quite remember but I think there is a blueprint piece for 6m incline, using foundation ramps and thats what I used. The blueprints are available for download for free so it should just be in there. Sorry if I’ve misunderstood something

    Can someone explain how is he caring 600 of water in a 300 pipe because the water extractor produce 120 and he have 5 into one pipe

  • @WhatDarrenPlays
    @WhatDarrenPlays11 сағат бұрын

    They arent all turned on. They will be when I upgrade the build to use mk2 pipes. The point is to put it all in place now, so it can be upgraded easily. Often times new players will build small, then have to rework, rebuild or replace parts as they unlock upgrades, but this way you just walk along the pipe and click it to be mk2 once you unlock that, and turn on the other extractors.

    I tried to delete one auto save of my first and only satisfactory world. It deleted all of my manual saves and all of the auto saves. I was under the impression you could delete just one autosave due to me being able to select it. I don't know if I'll ever play again.

    Did they change how the animations work at a distance? I played a few years ago and I dont remember animations being so laggy at a distance. I even have a couple videos of a factory where all the animations are smooth as far as I can see. My computer definitely wasnt as good as the one I have now. I even disable DLSS thinking maybe that was the culprit but its the same no matter what settings I use. ODD adjustment if they did this on purpose.

  • @WhatDarrenPlays

    They did, performance savings I guess. I would like if they added an animation render distance option

  • @BiGG_X

    That would be nice. The jittering animations are weird to see. Considering they have DLSS now, why they do that? LoL... Thanks for the Vids, they really help me get back into it.

    I have set up huge turbo fuel stations to power 450 fuel generators. And I have set up huge dilluted fuel stations to power 400 fuel generators. I just dont think its worth it to produce turbo fuel for anything other than the jet pack and the turbo ammo.

    Woudnt It be easier to leave the engines unhooked to power rather than on standby? As far as I understand they don't turn on if they are not connected to power, and hooking up cables would be faster than pressing the standby button.

    I think the reason the fluid buffer fills up after the refineries upstairs is because you have a pump in line with the buffer. It doesn't have a chance to fill because the pump is effectively "sucking" the water out of it to send it upstairs. Without the pump(or with one that is placed higher than the buffer), the buffer would fill first(probably, I haven't tested this and don't actually know anything about fluid dynamics, this is just my intuition/guess)

    51:35 That's assuming the truck station splits the output like a splitter. In my experience, a large storage container puts any on the bottom and overflow on top. Might be the same for the truck station. That may not matter though since the truck drops a full inventory at once. So they'll both output 480 93.75% of the time even if one is "overflow".

    So i just started playing satisfactory for like 20 hours now and your videos have been super helpful getting me up to speed. I wont lie that this video had me overwhelmed.. but i used it as inspiration to practice and get my "bob ross on" and make "Happy Little Factories". That being said I feel there is a fundamental system flaw that is being missed in the design of this power plant. A lot of the weird percentages are being done to avoid exceeding the max flow of the mk 1 pipes (300). However the design with a manifold layout divides producers and consumers (its a PubSub design pattern at heart - software engineering speak).. For instance if you do [ (Pump) (Pump) -> (Plant) (Plant) (Plant)] you are guaranteed to have traffic issues. There is mathematically a solution to do coal without weird ratios that works with the mk1 pipes. You can either use mk1 belts or mk2 belts for the coal.. latter of course being more efficient.. 120/min coal will always supply 8 plants. 8 plants consume 360 water, which is supplied by 3 pumps. If you create a token ring system you can design it such that you never exceed the 300 threshold. Though the valves on pumps and plants are one directional the pipes are not.. They are one big pool. That being said for every 8 coal plants do this [ (pump) (plant) (plant) (plant) (pump) (plant) (plant) (plant) (pump)] you can even chain these .. key is just creating T junction from the plant or pump to the main artery .. as long as pump to plant ratio is 3/8 and there are 120 coal for every 8 coal plants you are golden. No weird calculators for early game players. Keep up the great work!

  • @jhc9000
    @jhc90004 күн бұрын

    One more thing.. Players could be forgiven for assuming pipes are identical to belts.. They are in fact not at all.

    Have you ever thought of making a factory from mini factory blueprints? For example with this schematic 3:33, you could make a blueprint that has 3 refineries, takes in oil, and outputs rubber, plastic, and p. coke and a blueprint that has 2 constructors and a foundry... requires a few extra building materials, but it's easier to put together.

  • @jordanhoman0212
    @jordanhoman02124 күн бұрын

    1:39:34 that's as good as it gets since those last 2 are effectively load balanced once the rest are full

  • @jordanhoman0212
    @jordanhoman02124 күн бұрын

    You could also leave all the generators on, and block the fuel until your buffer is full. Then open the valves to fill them all very quickly.

    59:18 Regarding power storage (PS): They take as much excess power as they can. This is done equally across all PS on the network. (If you have 50MW excess, and you have 50 PS, they each charge at 1MW) They can each hold 100MWh They can each charge up to 100MW (1h is their fastest full charge time) They can discharge as fast as needed (a single full PS can power a 6000MW factory for 1 min) So, your 50 PS blueprint can handle 5000MW charging until they store 5000MWh. Then it can discharge it as slow or fast as needed.
