Festivals called 666. Not to be confused with 666 Underground headline by Canned Heat which I believe was different. 1970. Paris France.

There is no group like Renaissance. Tragically underrated. They created wonderful music. Annie's voice is a standout.

Very late to the party with these guys - I knew a few numbers but just started digging deeper. Listened to Grave New World in the car today and it still sounds incredible. Dave's voice is one of those Marmite voices that you can love or hate but I would put him up there with Peter Hamill as one of the greatest storytellers of the era.

The sound of the sensational band Gryphon is divine. Mixing the best of medieval music with the heyday of Renaissance and Baroque music. Fascinating.

Grew up with them in the 1970's, but never saw or heard them live until recently! Must've blown Japan away, they don't disappoint! Even over the last 10 years they still performed great, although David's vocals are not as tight as they were. Still my top 5 most loved bands! They were one of a group of other bands that led the Progressive Rock Movement in the early 1970's along with Yes, ELP, Renaissance, King Crimson, Pink Floyd, Genesis and Gentile Giant, among others. Thank you for sharing!!

I heard Black Flame on the radio. I WAS HOOKED. And I was so very lucky to see them perform live in that era. AND I had a neighbor (later a good fried) who could play the bass lines perfectly. Damn did I envy him his stereo until I found out it was him playing the bass parts.

All so young and committed. PF, Yes, Genesis, KC, LZ and the rest. How, Why did could that small island birth so much music. Not to mention Fairport, Pentangle, Steeleye, Tull, even Black Sabbath. A time machine to that land late 60’s / 70’s to watch Cream and Jimi and this follows the British Invasion of Beatles and Stones and the rest. You can add your favs. Renaissance, Camel, Canterbury...

Any American kid who came of age in the early to mid '70s would have dreamed of walking down the street holding hands with a girl who looked like Annie Haslam. Her look epitomized what "casual glamor" was in that era. That she was such a gifted singer is a double-dose of superlatives.

THIS is music ;). I am looking for LIVE Camel with Kit Watkins. It seems he joined the band just a few months after this recording as he was replacing Dave Sinclair. The tour may have been from Oct 1979 to Jan 1980 and I think that was the end for Kit with Camel. Wow, did this band have some great keyboardists through the years or what?

They’re vultures standing in front of the door, quite aware that destiny is never nice to them. Their pride betrays the means of their destruction. Take my rings and trinkets bright but let me my ears, my eyes that enlighten me and my tongue that lets me wander. The rest is yours and welcome 👻

There has always been some debate about them being prog or not. They could write a good pop song when they wanted but the musicianship and arrangements are outrageous. I would put them on the cusp, like Wishbone Ash - they have the ability but never let it get in the way.

Ate hoje a sensação é mesma!😊❤😊❤

Olá Márcio! Também fui arrebatado por esse som em meados da década de 70, e escuto até hoje. Tenho três discos, gravados entre 72 a 74. Conheci a banda pelo álbum Ashes are Burning. Sou de Juiz de Fora - MG, e também "viajei" aos tempos medievais... Ainda escuto muito rock progressivo, que foi a trilha da minha adolescência!

Have always said maybe the most underrated band of all time; followed by Strawbs. Lyrically, musically---all were talented, followed by Annie's 5+ octave, clean voice range. LONG time fan since the earliest days.

5+ oitavas range voice, wow! I had no idea - always impressed by its power, it reminded me of opera singers, I could perceive (still do) the impulse from diafragma to throat (not sure I explain in right way, sorry my English, not my 1st language).
