I found a solar Insect Light Trap from King Catcher Africa that is catching and killing the bark beetle without using pesticides, and it works autonomously with low maintenance.

The amount of carbon to produce an EV is more than a normal gas produces in 10 years. And the amount of rare earth takes to produce battery is the same consumption of natural resource like oil. Thus EV is not re-useable at all. You EV fans are a bunch of delulu.

Once again China takes the lead. I don't mind a US tariff on cars compatible to ones we are producing, but anything i would want is illegal. How about we bring back the 70's rice burning pickups, just electric? Musk's, Fords, Chevies electric trucks suck.

I think this is a step in the wrong direction. EV's are not the answer to climate change, Rezoning and density is. However in the mean time. PHEV's are the best option for both worlds with faster fuel up times and uses less battery cells per cars. And there is a hyper mile community that pushes the limits of PHEV Prius where they rarely ever gas up. Lets hit the big truck guys before we go after the hybrid people.

There’s no way I am buying another Toyota- 40 k Corolla, no Prius or rav 4 prime, wait list for a hybrid sienna. Only tundra and highlanders. Sounds great. I cannot afford buy a Toyota. Buy 2 Kia for price of Toyota. Keep driving 1 while the other one is waiting for a engine replacement under 100k mile Kia warranty. So your 2 Kia combined is for sure to last at least 200 k miles with 100% reliability as you’ve a spare car.

I want the world to transition to EVs as much as anyone, but toyota seems to have predicted the market realities given the rise in hybrid sales and the fall of ev sales. Their plugin hybrids seem like a at least offer some hope in the right direction. People can go months and months on a tank of gas if their trips are short and they plug in at home.

EVS Aren’t good for the environment. I’d the end goal is to reduce CO2 hybrids are better. The damages done while mining to make 1 ev can make 90 hybrids and unlike an ev most hybrids don’t need to be charged reducing grid dependency

Toyota doesn't need EVs, people don't need EVs. EVs are the scam of the century. Expensive and extremely inconvenient, be smart, don't buy an EV.

Fun fact: Toyota partnered with Tesla in 2011, to produce a compliant vehicle for CA. 2600 RAV4 EVs were given Tesla Model S drivetrains, and batteries, though somewhat dumbed down, as the range was about 100 miles, and did not have the same 0-60 times as the Model S. I actually have one of these vehicles. It’s a 2014, which is lots of fun, because they changed the body style for 2013 vehicles, but all the EVs sold between 2022 through 2014 were the older body style. But pretty much, it was the first mass produced electric SUV, beating out Tesla, even if Tesla was the one who supplied Toyota the parts.

Ha maybe Toyota know something about EVs that the rest of the world is slowly learning - they suck! They are expensive have terrible range they still take too long to charge there will never be enough chargers. They don’t hold there value. They are effectively un repairable. They don’t replace gas cars they only replace public transport. In that they only work for short known trips.

This has been true of Toy for the 40+ years I had been buying them. Facts you can bank on: 1) the salesperson never knows the vehicle...I got so tired of training them. 2) the shop is little better, they have a manual(s) that tells them what the problem (possibly) is, and how many hours to charge. 3) Toy themselves has an MO of "never admit a mistake" and they fall back on 3 years / 36 months (and it's on you). This time, instead of getting the (supposedly great) new Prius I got a Chevy Bolt. Happiness truly is seeing the TOYOTA Stealership Sign in your rear view mirror!

  • @lordtorka

Right so, in my particular use case, a plug in hybrid is pretty much the most ideal "electric" option. What toyota really needs to do is not produce more junk phase 1 EVs like everyone else, but actually produce more of the plug in hybrid vehicles that they already have. they are impossible to find currently and end up with stupid dealer markups.

Reminds me of a commercial from a competing car company from about 10-15 years ago where someone drives a brand new Toyota onto the lot of the advertised brand, and the Toyota looks about a decade older because they never update their vehicles. Sales guy starts rummaging through the Toyota looking for the cassette deck because he's convinced it's not a new car.

'Toyota' have released some EV's but for China market only. They are made in connunction with GAC & FAW. Called BZ3X & BZ3C. The problem with Toyota is that, as the Prius showed, if Toyota made good BEV's people would buy them. But they just wont get with the times. For some ridiculous reason Toyota keep churning out misleading marketing trope. I have owned Toyotas in the past but jusy hate the way the marketing is purely designed to basically con people into thinking they are getting a BEV or regular hybrid with new technology but all it is is just regular old Prius tech rebranded over and over. Beyond Zero is just another marketing greenwashing tagline. Im never buying a Toyota again.

Rollie Williams is great, but wtf was this? Toyota's are great, the battery of an EV like a Tesla chopped up into a bunch of Toyota Priuses would cut back on fossil fuel consumption more than a singular person greenwashing his/her lifestyle. The average person's daily miles traveled in the USA is not in the hundreds of miles and a full EV that can go 300 is a pragmatic waste. Toyota's plug in hybrids are more than most need most of the time, and with a legacy of fossil fuel, USA consumers are more willing to try EV if they carry a traditional ICE around with them just in case they maybe sometimes probably need to go on a long road trip. This video just feels so off the mark I'm surprised to see Rollie's face in it. Furthermore, TOYOTA HAS A BEV! Yes fully electric, for those of you more interested in driving a heavy vehicle that'll make you feel clean without having to use transit or pay too much attention to urbanization regulations.
