I just came across this video, and I remember this broadcast well. Chris and Bo were one of the reasons (my dad the main one) I got into bowling. They were the motivation to try to get to the big leagues of bowling. Things happen in life, priorities change and you sometimes never get the chance to reach that goal of your childhood. But Chris and Bo will ALWAYS remain the King and the Prime Minister of professional bowling. RIP, Chris. And btw, I also remember this broadcast as being one of the most frustrating I'd seen...the oil/pattern was tough, yes. But to see these guys miss targets like that was amazing. So many cross overs. Anyway, I miss these days.

What kind of a TV network keeps setting up the camera right where the bowler blocks the pins from being seen?

Wow! Now THIS is a GREAT PBA TELECAST. In my top 5 ever. Just possibly MY FAVORITE EVER. BO BURTON bowling VERY good. Pete Weber leading the tournament in the top position for the title. Dick Weber announcing AND trying not to be too biased for Pete to win. DeeDee Weber was there as was JUANITA WEBER to be with her husband Dick and watch Dick & Juanitas son bowl. "Magnificent Marshall" was bowling competitively. Cissy Burton was there for her emotional support for BO. DICK WEBER ANNOUNCING IN TOP FORM. And. Brian Voss made the top 24 as did Bill Spigner who is Mr. Versatility. WHAT A TELECAST!!!!!!!

So nice to see Holman lose. The announcers took A LOT of liberties here when talking about him VERY biased towards him which is SO perverse. They call him a nice guy?! Well if arrogant, hot tempered people who are sore losers are nice in your book then whatever but do not claim we ALL love him because many of us do not appreciate the way he acts at all. The only one that can compete in those character defects is P. Weber. Did not watch the last 2 games......

you could make the argument for this being the most stacked final 5 ever. All 5 in the HOF, nearly 100 titles among them (over 20 majors), inflation adjusted combined earnings probably around 10 million dollars. crazy amount of success on this show.

I just shared this video after all these years because I was at Providence Hospital in Novi 13 years ago today, giving birth to my baby girl during this whole storm. They had to evacuate everyone to the hallway, but I couldn't because my daughter was literally being born while it touched down in Novi.

1:02:28 Tessman's full of shit. Absolute liar. Allison's 900 only get tossed because the head honchos at the ABC had been personal friends of Allie Brandt and didn't want his 886 beaten. See Ray Orf's 890 in 1972 as another example.

Always hard to beat the leftie,Mark just new how to bowl against the Smooth throwing Earl, and new he would be thankful to get a w vs Anthony, but it was a miracle at times to beat him,Earl would keep getting stronger as the match drew to a end,and when he got 6 strikes in a row and pass you, there was trouble hard to beat him at the end,But its why Roth could beat you,but nobody was beating Earl much he jyst was not about to let it happen,, ✝️✝️✝️R.I.P. Had the good fortune to receive some instruction by Ernie Schlegel, back in my junior league in the Bronx in the late 70's. He helped me make some corrections in my approach, and my average jumped up by 20 points at the end of the season. Never forgot that.
