VintageFilmChannel

Hi I'm Grace, the "Vintage" in VintageFilmChannel. I love KZread and the opportunity it presents to bring my entertainment to those who enjoy it.

All of the programs on VintageFilmChannel are from Broadcast Videotape and film from my own library.
During almost 30 years in Production and Post-Production I have purchased and accumulated somewhere around 10,000 public domain titles. I publish only public domain titles, but, because they are Public Domain, others may also have versions.

Our titles all originate from Broadcast Quality sources, including: Type C one inch, Betacam SP and Digibeta, even 3/4 inch Umatic, as well as 16mm and 35mm film.

I am obsessed with quality, and I have developed a workflow for the material that gives great results. So the quality is as-good-as and in-most-cases, much better than competing (already monetized) channels.

So Welcome to VintageFilmChannel! Glad to have you here!

This was a series of syndicated episodes in 1956 through 1957. Rabco TV Productions -- I doubt it still exists -- may be your place to attempt a contact. Programs like this were a starting place for people like Claude Akins and Mike Connors. Good shorts. Thanks for finding and offering them.

Thanks for uploading the whole movie. No classic but very interesting as the last film made by William Haines, who at one time in the 20s was MGM's biggest male star. His co-star Conrad Nagel (who also was popular in silent films) would stay active on the stage & radio and in films & TV till the late 60s. Watched Conrad just recently in an early 60s rerun of TV's "Perry Mason".

James Coburn was one of the coolest, classiest actors around. Late in life, he was awarded a well-deserved Academy Award. Michael Pate quite frequently played Native Americans. He played Chief Vittorio in both the John Wayne film “Honda” and Ralph Taeger-starring series of the same title.

I was good friends with Kirby Grant. We had Lunch together almost everyday. He was Ambassador for Florida Festival (a Shopping and Dining Attraction across from Sea World). I was the Magician at the Six Flags Stars Hall of Fame Wax Museum next door. He was a nice guy and a real Gentleman. My biggest regret was not taking him up on his offer to go flying with him.

What's with the white Sheriffs' cars with no markings except a decal in the rear quarter window? I realize that the original title of :Code 3" was "Red Lights and Siren" but a police car without passive markings is naked, and the whole point of emergency lights and siren is to make the vehicle visible. A plain white car is invisible.

I love the destination sign on that bus: Weiser. My mom was from Weiser, Idaho. I am 74 and grew up loving Sky King. I have the complete (albeit over-priced) set of the series. That said, the colorization on this is horrible: characters have flesh-tone faces and black and white hands, the color fluctuates wildly, etc. It’s distracting. Just leave it as we remember it: black & white.

  • @VintageFilmChannel

It's a work in progress with the colorization. The last few I have done are much better. I hope you will have a look. It is much improved. Thanks for the comment, I am trying!

Strange how, much like Jack Webb's Adam-12 reason-for-being, shows like these were developed to show law enforcement in a good light. LASD was used around this time to forcably remove Chavez Ravine residents (eminent domain) from their homes to build Dodger Stadium.

As a TV history buff, I've known of this series for years but have never seen a single episode or clip from it. I'll delve into these soon. I know it was short-lived. Many of these failed 60's sitcoms now seem too exaggerated in their premise or plot-execution, the characters too silly, often just plain too unrealistically stupid, overbearing laugh-tracks, etc. I'll give this one a shot, though, after knowing of its existence for years!

Looking back at this 1965 pilot, we can see how racist this is . Pat Boone is arrogant and smug, being pushy to the islanders. this is supposed to be in the Filipino islands,
