The program's theme song was originally titled "Bows and Strings in Teasing" by its composer, Alexander Laszlo, when he composed it for a 1946 Republic picture, The French Key. When My Little Margie contracted to use his music, Laszlo wrote a new arrangement with added bars of music, which then became the "My Little Margie Theme" from 1952 to 1955.
Alexander (Sándor) Lászlò (November 22, 1895 Budapest (Hungary) - November 17, 1970 Los Angeles, California) was a Hungarian-American pianist, musical composer, arranger and inventor. He was born Sándor ("San") Totis, but used the professional name of Alexander Lászlò as a composer and music publisher.
In 1938 he came to the United States, starting in Chicago as music professor at the IIT Institute of Design. In the 1940s he was music director at NBC Radio.[4]
In Hollywood from about 1944, he wrote the music for several films such as One Body Too Many (1944), Charlie Chan and the Chinese Cat (1944), Scared Stiff (1945) and Yankee Kafir (1947). Also, The Great Flamarion (1945), The Amazing Mr. X (1949), Tarzan's Magic Fountain (1948), Night of the Blood Beast (1958), Attack of the Giant Leeches (1959), Beast from Haunted Cave (1959) and The Atomic Submarine (1959), and television series including Rocky Jones, Space Ranger and My Little Margie. He established a publishing company to collect ASCAP royalties under the name "Alexander Publications."

I loved this show as a kid
My favorite show when TV was new and so exacting. I met her once years later and she was lovely.
I would come home from school for lunch, and hear this theme song. Loved the music and the show. Talking early 60's. 😊
Hear this theme and it takes me back to being 7 years old and growing up in The Bronx. Appreciated.
Nice to see the packages for Scotties, Cut-Rite Wax Paper and ScotTowels in the closing credits...
🎼🎵🎶Thank you 🎼🎶I enjoyed reading the interesting information 👍Lots of good movies ❤
Scott Paper Company sponsored "MY LITTLE MARGIE" on NBC from 1953 through 1955. They replaced it with 'FATHER KNOWS BEST" in the fall of 1955.
