  I record with Camtasia and edit in Camtasia. It is possible to run the recorder and show stuff in Camtasia editor at the same time.

  Thank you! Even in Camtasia 2024, this particular effect is achieved the same way. Nothing has changed and no new effects have been added to make a difference for this particular use case

  Thanks for this. They're starting to gauge. We're going to upgrade to Camtasia 2024 which has a lot of these features. These items seem to be "gotchas" that'll just make it not as attractive as it used to be.

  Thanks for the video Cristi. I’m still finding the template thing a bit funky. For instance, I’ve created a template with the caption design I want, but it also saved the video clip. So now when I apply the template, it applies the clip. Should I go back into the template and delete the vid clip?

  hi I'm new to your tutorials and camtasia. do you have a tutorial on cutting up long videos to smaller clips that can be used for other platforms, shorts, etc? also wanted to do reduced length videos by cutting out a lot of the extra that are relevant from the intent/focus of a video (i.e., cutting up and extracting from 1hr to a 10 min length for a particular topic of that 1h vid)

  Camtasia has a separate tool (separate subscription) called Audiate that allows you to transcribe and cut video, filler words, gaps, all that. It requires a roundtrip so it's a little clunky in my opinion. If you want to cut long videos into smaller clips, for now Descript is better: cotovan.com/descript

  with all due respect, guys, but I think this is not a good example for what one would call a successful KZread channel. The most recent numbers are very overseeable (like below 1k for every recent video). The big hits are ages old (5 to 10 years) and that is a loooong time. I am sorry to say that, as I appreciate this channel, but for me, this is NOT a successful education channel. It's size and growth are not exponential but very overseeable. So any advice should be taken with a grain of salt. Just my 0.02.

  Thank you for your comment, I agree in part but also disagree. It depends on who you compare yourself to. It may be a slow burn but I think unless you cover some famous trending piece of software or topic, educational content is usually slow to pick up and develop. 'Viral' stuff tends to die down soon. This is even more true if you follow the strategy that Chris (and myself) tend to employ: specific videos showing one thing, teaching one solution. Those usually don't have a huge audience overall, which is why becoming evergreen is a great benefit: they will keep being relevant many years from now. I appreciate your feedback, loving the conversation.

  HANK YOU VERY MUCH CRISTI ON YOUR GREAT VIDEOS. I LEARN FROM YOU SO MUCHT. I HAVE A GREAT ISSUE WITH THE CAMTASIA 2023 SCREEN RECORDER AND NOBODY IN THE SUPPORT SOLVED IT. I CERTAINLY THINK IT IS A BUG IN THE SCREEN RECORDER BECAUSE IN THE OLDER VERSION I HAD (IN CAMTASIA 9) EVERYTHING WAS GOOD. WHEN I RECORD MY WORK FROM ADOBE ILLUSTRATOR IT DOES THE WORK BUT WHEN I START EDITING IN THE FIRST MINUTE OF THE PLAYING IT DAMAGES ALL THE COLORS. MAYBE YOU CAN SOLVE IT? THANK YOU VERY VERY MUCH.   Hi Ilana, that sounds like a challenging one, particularly if the support team couldn't solve it. When you say "damages all the colors", what do you mean, like they look washed out, or super saturated and broken? Maybe it's a GPU issue, do you have your drives up to date for your graphics adapter? I can't provide much more info without more background. Have you tried on a different computer?

  @user-sv8jg4gg4o a lot of things changed since Camtasia 9. The entire rendering and recording engine has been overhauled as far as I know. You can’t compare them. What computer and OS do you have?
