Samsara is still great but as far as i know the extrait is no longer being produced. I’d ask at Place Vendome, but Guerlain sells the extraits in abeille bottles now. Bigger quantity but higher price 😢

Recently I tried the 14 scents in the Meo Fusciuni discovery set. While I found most of them artistic, the performance for all except one is dismal (2 hours!) and while I don't mind re-spraying once during the day, given the price point of these, I won't be buying. No surprise that the longest lasting one had tuberose (Odor 93). BTW: I just discovered your channel and was pleased you mentioned Après l'Ondeé, as it was my signature scent a few years ago. Oh, that’s sad! These 2 samples lasted quite long on the skin. Sogni went on for a day! Anyway, I hope i’ll be filming Apres L’Ondee soon, just bought a second bottle and it is a stunning as ever

Interesting how each nose perceive notes so differently … I didn’t get the olibanum as the central core of Dans le Bleu (which is not discontinued). It reminded me very much of the opening of Womanity - algae, seawater, ambergris without the animalic funk. However, Womanity is closer to salty marshes mud while Dans le Bleu is sparkly, clean and airy. It reads perhaps too clean and therefore reminiscent of functional fragrances in shower gels. SL/ CS have done many iconoclastic fragrances that I love: Iris Silver Mist, Chergui, Sarassins, most of the Bois variations, Borneo, MKK. Dans le Bleu- while lovely- just didn’t resonate as much.

That’s a very good question! Now, I’m no expert, but when I cite “amberwood” i’m not exactly referring only to that specific synthetic molecule, but to all derivates of ambroxane, cashmerans, you name it. Basically everything that reminds me of Baccarat Rouge, Erba Pura, Stronger with you and all the annoying cousins. It’s a sharp, sweet metallic scent that makes me dizzy

Well, what can I say about Toskovat'? I think I said enough in the video, with the addition that they turn rather common on the blotter after some time, although the openings were pretty neat. Would be curious to smell more, but alas, out of stock and prohibitively priced.

Parfumul acesta m-a cucerit de la primul puf...primăvara încă nu se terminase și l-am cumpărat și i l-am prezentat cu entuziasm fiului meu, reacția lui a fost imediată, un brutal NU 😂...ce bine, incă un parfum pentru mine(este în top trei parfumuri unisex din mica mea colecție, pe ”podium” fiind și Tyrannosaurus Rex de la Zoologist și Meftun de la Parfumane)...domnule profesor, vă mulțumesc pentru acest videoclip, a fost interesant să văd și să aud cum percepe altcineva! Parfumul stă deocamdată în dulap, nu este vremea lui acum....întrebări am, dar nu despre acesta...ați testat Farah și Captive de la Brecourt? Iar de la Maison Incens, Cuir Erindil și Ambre Ayanna...tare aș vrea să știu dacă merită să le testez...

Habit rouge prive is just wouah wouah wouah...fantastic perfume! Wouah..!!! Your video explains it amazingly..guerlain must remove all the previous habit rouge versions and keep this one.. really fantastic. I just bought it and will be my signature for a while. Guerlain shows his power with HR privé after the disappointment of the HR edp and HR instinct...again privé is the best reformulation of the original HR

I never thought I'd be purchasing another Gucci but then again, I never do. Gucci Guilty Elixir Pour Homme is the complete name for the playfully coloured, amber fruity floral scent worked by Quentin Bisch. In the spirit of the fashions, Gucci couldn't stay away from the "elixir" trend, but I was pleasantly surprised by the choice to launch a floral "fresher-than-most" like it's 1996 and orange blossom is all the rage for male marketed scents. Feels like they just reinvented velour pants. Is this doing well? What do you think?

Well, with the exception of Habit Rouge, none of the parfums hit me as extremely potent. They last well enough and are very pleasant to wear which to me is more important🤷🏽♂️

Taken away by the wafts of Santal Majuscule I failed to clarify what I meant by false minimalism. Employing sandalwood, rose and patchouli in a fragrance might seem minimalistic and it is, but the ingredients are themselves so lush in their olfactive offering, that I wonder if we can truly call the resulting scent truly minimalistic. I think we can, as, after all, less is more.

I know! But the funny thing is, usually to a non frag person these will not be salient, and animalic fragrances don’t get perceived as being funky as often as one might assume. Except for Kouros maybe, that one is called pissy by most. There is something undeniably sexy about animalics

@@MemoryFlo Indeed. One of my top three out of my entire collection is Ursa by Tiziana Terenzi. The gatekeeper barnyard opening in that puts a lot of people off, but the heavenly patchouli that eventually emerges makes it more than worthwhile. Likewise, Laudano Nero from the same house hints unforgivingly at being sourced from an old, damp cellar, but the underlying boozy wood is worth the wait.

True "lightning in a bottle" was the old L'Instant de Guerlain Pour Homme with that silky sandalwood and voluptuous patchouli, it almost feels like an echo of Thierry Mugler's A*Men. It seduced me with a gothic smell of smoky candlewax and polished woodwork and years later I still go back to it to smell what was.

Cabotine is amazing !! Weird story.. I got it from my sister as birthday present, she said it had a nice relaxed elegance that she felt would suit me,,,.... and I sprayed it twice... and put it on my shelf for two years. One day in March last year I was in town eating lunch with a friend, and she smelled incredible, green, spicy, niche, unique!! I asked her what perfume she was wearing,,, imagine my delightful shock when she said it was CABOTINE !! 😃😂😎😎 I can tell you I fished out that Cabotine bottle SOOOO fast when I got home,,, the juice had darkened a bit in 2 years plus,, and voilā!! I had a 100 ml newly discovered perfume treasure -- to this day, no other perfume of mine have gotten me so many compliments and positive feedback -- it is the scent trail, it's magic 😊

@@MemoryFlo yeah. To me Vanilla Barka is the sweetest and more enjoyable to me. Vanilla Barka is a bit screechy with the animalistic note in the opening but it’s more chemical (headache inducing, term you were looking for)

It's definitely a trip.

I never thought I'd be purchasing another Gucci but then again, I never do. Gucci Guilty Elixir Pour Homme is the complete name for the playfully coloured, amber fruity floral scent worked by Quentin Bisch. In the spirit of the fashions, Gucci couldn't stay away from the "elixir" trend, but I was pleasantly surprised by the choice to launch a floral "fresher-than-most" like it's 1996 and orange blossom is all the rage for male marketed scents. Feels like they just reinvented velour pants. Is this doing well? What do you think?

Well, with the exception of Habit Rouge, none of the parfums hit me as extremely potent. They last well enough and are very pleasant to wear which to me is more important🤷🏽♂️
I get the same physical feeling from Incense as you do from Sandalwood. I feel it at the base of my tongue and the top of my mouth.

Taken away by the wafts of Santal Majuscule I failed to clarify what I meant by false minimalism. Employing sandalwood, rose and patchouli in a fragrance might seem minimalistic and it is, but the ingredients are themselves so lush in their olfactive offering, that I wonder if we can truly call the resulting scent truly minimalistic. I think we can, as, after all, less is more.

I know! But the funny thing is, usually to a non frag person these will not be salient, and animalic fragrances don’t get perceived as being funky as often as one might assume. Except for Kouros maybe, that one is called pissy by most. There is something undeniably sexy about animalics
@@MemoryFlo Indeed. One of my top three out of my entire collection is Ursa by Tiziana Terenzi. The gatekeeper barnyard opening in that puts a lot of people off, but the heavenly patchouli that eventually emerges makes it more than worthwhile. Likewise, Laudano Nero from the same house hints unforgivingly at being sourced from an old, damp cellar, but the underlying boozy wood is worth the wait.

True "lightning in a bottle" was the old L'Instant de Guerlain Pour Homme with that silky sandalwood and voluptuous patchouli, it almost feels like an echo of Thierry Mugler's A*Men. It seduced me with a gothic smell of smoky candlewax and polished woodwork and years later I still go back to it to smell what was.

Comète is basically the same as Sakura from Acqua Di Parma. Chanel just added a lot of musk and Iris. An exact copy a la Chanel.

Cabotine is amazing !! Weird story.. I got it from my sister as birthday present, she said it had a nice relaxed elegance that she felt would suit me,,,.... and I sprayed it twice... and put it on my shelf for two years. One day in March last year I was in town eating lunch with a friend, and she smelled incredible, green, spicy, niche, unique!! I asked her what perfume she was wearing,,, imagine my delightful shock when she said it was CABOTINE !! 😃😂😎😎 I can tell you I fished out that Cabotine bottle SOOOO fast when I got home,,, the juice had darkened a bit in 2 years plus,, and voilā!! I had a 100 ml newly discovered perfume treasure -- to this day, no other perfume of mine have gotten me so many compliments and positive feedback -- it is the scent trail, it's magic 😊

@@MemoryFlo yeah. To me Vanilla Barka is the sweetest and more enjoyable to me. Vanilla Barka is a bit screechy with the animalistic note in the opening but it’s more chemical (headache inducing, term you were looking for)

Today I'm smelling some samples kindly sent to me by my friend Raul and I'm getting to know Laboratorio Olfattivo Tonkade & Vanagloria, Aaron Terence Hughes Onyx & Neon and also from Gucci's The Alchemist's Garden The Eyes of the Tiger & The Voice of the Snake, both done by Alberto Morillas. It's definitely a trip.
