can you do the same with acrylic
It’s like drawing on the right side of the brain. Simply put, the left brain is a huge warehouse of information. It is super quick in identifying and bringing up solutions. For instance, blue truck barreling down on us. Quick get out the way. Years of studying art is like stacking up bricks of knowledge. A trained artist uses the right brain which stays on the present to actually see what’s in front. The more information we have stored plus our ability to control the new information creates better art.
I love the way you took an incredibly boring reference photo and turned it into something so beautiful. The power of creativity… And you did it in 20 minutes
You’re truly amazing! I have been watching you on utube for a couple months now and learned so much! I recently subscribed to your Patreon Channel bu😅t being the dinosaur that I am, I haven’t quite figured out how to negotiate it yet. I’ll get there! I used to do animal and children’s portraits with pastel and watercolor when I was in my 20s then life happened. At 65 I now have the time and desire to rekindle that side of me. I found I’m still good at drawing wildlife but landscape is a whole other banana! Gotta loosen up! I finished a landscape yesterday and it looks like I’m slowly coming along….make a plan…take my time…light touch! I hope I’ll get to share my stuff with you for a critique. Thanks Kimberly Bear
Beautiful
The idea is not to replicate the original painting, but rather to improve, enhance, interprite
Excellent artist. I’ve been watching lots of Pastelists. She’s great. I wanna paint like her.
I really like this painting! I have tried a few like this, but I can't seem to get out of the drawing/ overblending habit. I get a nice underpainting going, then I go into drawing/ detail mode. I want to get more color and a nice loose painting effect but I seem to dislike the pastel marks I make and blend everything out.
What do you use as sets ? If $ not a problem I’d buy what you buy. Also do you use paper in sande
Wow! Love dramatic sky's. Thank you for the demo
Absolutely beautiful. From one teacher to another, I'd never spray fixative in an enclosed space. It's absolutely toxic.
This is so beautiful, thank you for sharing.
Fantastic ❤
What’s the name of the paper you’re using .. I missed it
Turned out very nice. Looks like a fun loose way to paint with pastels. I enjoyed watching you and learned a lot I can do differently with all the stuff i already have. Thank you for sharing. I was a little concerned at first but glad I watched to the end.😄
Wonderful to experience your painting as it happens! New subscriber, not a pastel painter.
I e been pasteling for a week lol a fantastic art style that I'm not used to
Beautiful painting! But watching those poor pastels crumble hurts 😂
Am I the only one that thinks even her under painting is great!? So much talent within you!!! Thank you for sharing your talents!

It's a magic!❤ Thank you very much!!!
I like your videos, I am spanish.
Yes, please show us.
Love it
I love your art style so much and thanks for the tutorial!!! I want to develop my own style that isn’t just realism. Currently as an art student I just do realism and it’s painstaking to do every little detail.
field of octopi
Beautiful.
Looks great! As someone with ADHD and someone who gets stuck in the details, the 20 minute idea is very smart.
Thank you Karen! Such a beautiful painting. ❤
I know this is going to sound offensive. Perhaps it is offensive. But it strikes me that you do a lot of fiddling around and covering over what you've already drawn. Doesn't this discourage the beauty of line, and of making marks that are bold, definitive, and striking?
It is beautiful!. Your skills are awesome. I love your vidios. Thank You.❤❤❤
You needed To create a path from the front of the scene to the distant area. Your reference photo doesn’t have a clear light source. I might have chosen a different image.
Loved the colours.
I am just at the beginning of the video and did not understand well the name of the paper ( English is not my mother tongue 😊). Could you please write it under your video. Thank you very much 🎉
I had not known about alcohol wash for pastel painting . Does it work as a fixer ? Beautiful painting and Demo -- from Goa , India .
Beautiful painting,!! I could watch your demo's all day .
Are these oil pastels?
Love this!
