    Morning guys ❤ Now, we know music is universal, but there was something quite surreal about you sitting in a Spanish bar/restaurant in very Spanish surroundings, while Oasis played in the background 🤣 It almost seemed wrong! Morella looks a real treat, the fact you can see for miles around is a winner enough. I imagine the cool temperatures are very much appreciated during the scorching summers which probably makes the winter there worth dealing with. 3.50 for entry into that castle, another Spanish bargain. Without a doubt that would be mininum £10 here, probably 15-20. Spain is full of these historical gems and pretty villages, you could spend years doing videos there and not run out of places! The water situation is very sad, and you're always reminded of it there. I guess there are other elements too that lead to towns not being visited anymore. Hopefully it can recover to some degree in future 🙏 Watch out for enamoured ladies tailgating you down remote country roads, I'm sure I've seen a horror film about that 😜 Much love to you both Dan & Stephen ❤🤟

    Hey guys, Oasis was nothing, we'd had Midge Ure and Boy George before it too. Obviously we couldn't record at that point, as I (Alison) was "singing" along...! In the loosest possible sense of the word. 🤪🤣 Morella was really lovely. We can't get on Ur heads around where all the travellers are though. That Aire was rammed in autumn and almost empty in summer. Spoiler alert, we're currently in the Almería región and it's the same. So many less motorhomes and campers than we were expecting. Jávea and Denia are always heaving with tourists. With small villages the younger people move away to find work or a more exciting lifestyle. It all adds up. 🥺 Poor Darren, he was so embarrassed. She was such a lovely lady. Nicely dressed and coiffured. They were both blushing profusely. It was very sweet. 😍 It's lovely to know that we can still get crushes when we become older. 🤪 Much love as always Alison and Darren 💜🤟

    @@findingxanadulife Yes, but tourism continues to consume the population's resources. What is your opinion on that?

  • @findingxanadulife
    @findingxanadulife7 күн бұрын

    @susanaescriba977 Personally we don't believe that tourism is the main problem. There are countries that are hotter, drier and have more tourism, but don't have the problem, as they have invested money into sustainable solutions. The big issue is how would Spain fund this..? We don't believe that removing the income from tourism is the answer. 💜🤟

  • @susanaescriba977
    @susanaescriba9777 күн бұрын

    @@findingxanadulife But the existing infrastructures are what they are and if mass tourism is destroying them, disregarding the needs of the population, it is an abuse. For example, I am not going to restrict the use of water necessary for my children and my daily life, so that you as a tourist come to waste that water, without caring a fig, or being aware of anything that goes beyond that than your own selfish enjoyment .

  • @findingxanadulife
    @findingxanadulife7 күн бұрын

    The problem with your issue is that tourism drains less than 1% of the Spanish water supply (from Spanish Government figures). So in the case of Moreira which quotes that 19% of its Income is from Tourism. You make the local environment 19% poorer to regain less than 1% of the water supply. We know this is frustrating for you, but removing tourists will not solve the problem. It will however give the area bigger financial problems. Finding sustainable long term solutions will always be a preferred option over finger pointing. Either way thank you for your comment and we do honestly hope your difficulties end soon 🤟♥️

    A very relaxing video this one, obviously the effect of being in such a wonderful place where you could take your feet off the gas for a while. Lovely stuff! The beach looked quite vast there, so plenty of room for everyone and what a place to park up. It does feel rare to be able to get your chairs out! Loving the bit of Alison cam in the motorhome and that lunch looked absolutely lush. Just the sort of thing we love. Did you have some sort of grains or cous cous with that, it looked like it in the bowl? Either way, yum 😋 Darren, I (Dan) relate 100% to that procrastination of editing. I usually insist we're in the darkest, dingiest park up so as not to be tempted, that or a campsite where I can't see anything pretty, but it doesn't always work out and I'll still delay by annoying Stephen instead or something 😂 Poor Seb, but you are giving him a wonderful life in his twilight years. Our family dog who's with my mum is 13 and the old age effects are creeping in now. What has worked insanely well however are these YuMove Senior supplements, it's given her back so much energy and we really notice the difference if the tablets run out. Not saying that will be right for Seb, but could be an option. Anyway, take care both ❤ Dan & Steve 🤟

  • @findingxanadulife

    This beach is my (Alison) firm favourite. We loved everything about it and could happily have just stayed right there, all summer long. I think the main problem for Sebastian was the added weight of being waterlogged. He has a lot of fur that holds a lot of water and that's a bit much for a frail elderly gentleman. He had fun while he was there, just over did it. I often know how he feels. 🤣 With Seb's dementia, he does get brain fried very easily and at that point a lot of function stops, bless him. He did get a lot better with the new liver supportive supplement, but that seems to have worn off. He took them as treats to begin with, but now we have to hide them in his food and if he doesn't want that, we have to 'post' them directly. We use Hyaloral, which I believe is a similar thing to Yumove. 👍 Normally Darren's work ethic is really good and I TRY not to do anything fun while he is editing, so he doesn't feel that he's missing out, but the temptation of that beach was just too strong. 🤣🤣 Much love. 💜🤟

    Seb has had a really good few weeks, since he has been on the Liver supportive food and supplement, more active, more 'with it' less confused and almost inhaling the new food because he likes it so much and eating the supplement like it was a treat. Annoyingly, this week, he's having an absolute 'mare. Doesn't want his food, spits out the supplement, his co-ordination is dreadful and he's very confused again. It's his 15th birthday in a week and I so want him to see it, but I get the feeling he isn't keen at the moment. We are keeping a really close eye on him at the moment. 🥺💜🤟

Not only was it illegal, the town hall listed 7 reasons that it would never be legalised and should the council decide to have a clean up of illegal properties, it would have been high on the list for demolition. We had to learn fast. Always check the Cadastral register, to make sure that the property has been legally registered as what it's being described as. Drop us an email, we'll answer your questions and see what you need help with. If you feel that you want to donate to the channel at the end of it, Buy Me A Coffee allows people to make one off donations. Morning guys, well that was a blinder of a place wasnt it?! 😲😍 I dont often pin things for us to see later (in part because I forget, but mostly because I'm never sure if we'll ever get to visit even a fraction of them) but I have pinned this one, although my first thought was hearing Stephen protesting 😂🙈 Guess I could leave him by the river while I climb up the village 🤷‍♂️ Alcalá del Júcar was sensational and you captured it beautifully, but my god that was steep. No wonder you were knackered. The caves were very impressive and seemed to go deep, couldnt believe you ended up back at the top again 😂🤦‍♂️ The river beach looked perfect too if a little busy. 41 degrees 😬 Jesus! It was pushing 30 here yesterday and that was bad enough 😂 Question for Darren, does it take you as long as it does me to match music to clips?! It takes me forever and then sometimes still doesn't quite fit together after all that effort. The joke is our longest video, the van tour, was the easiest and quickest to put together because it was mostly clips of talking. Trouble is, I like putting music in...I just need to be quicker 😂 So yeah just wondering if you have that issue too (the music in this vid with the clips was great by the way ❤) Safe travels both, much love ❤🤟

We have a destination in mind, then travel via as many 📌's as we can. 😬 As for Darren and the music, yes, it takes him hours. Hey Sarah, No, we don't have Aircon in the habitation area, only in the cab. We would only be able to use Aircon whilst we were on electric hook-up, or for a short time, as the solar panel wouldn't power it for very long, or we run the engine for a while and blast the cab Aircon. We always try to park in the shade, leave the roof windows open and have electric fans running to keep the air circulating. The critters also have cool mats, although seem to prefer not to lay on them. They do like to stick to ground level a lot of the time. There are little bunkers created where the footwells would be for 2 extra travelling passengers, Spud and Mahpiya both like to get in there and they stay surpringly cool. It's usually cooler inside than out, as motorhomes have pretty good insulation. Animals can definitely cope with a wider range of temperatures than humans can and Bart has to be dragged out of the sun when we are parked. If there is a choice of sun or shade, he'll always choose the sun until we force him to move. We've only had to dampen them down once, the day it hit 41°c in the shade and we were in the motorhome too. Then we dampened them down and drove to somewhere else, blasting the Aircon in the cab whilst we drove. Thanks for your comment..! Much love Alison and Darren 💜🤟

    Aaaw Barry and Sarah, you're so welcome. You're part of the family now...! It was rediculously hot walking around the village, especially when we walked down to almost the bottom, then went into the cave and had to climb all those stairs, ending up at the top of the village again. 🤦🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️ I would have loved to go back and throw myself into the river, but we had to think of the critters in the heat. 😘🥰💜🤟

    Hi Gerald, Yep, we certainly get around..! 🤣 Maybe KZread was suggesting that it would be a great idea for you to subscribe to our channel and see where else we have been. 😉🤭 Carcassonne citadel was a personal favourite of mine (Alison). Everything I adore in one place and as it was such a cold day when we went, it wasn't heaving with tourists either. We got to really make the most of our visit. The Chateau Comtal was busy, but most definitely worth it. It's also free to enter on the first Sunday of each month, from October to March, if I remember rightly. We are currently planning our next big adventure, heading to Türkiye and back to Spain, that will take us 2 years from the end of September this year. Scary and exciting stuff. All joking aside, thanks for watching our Carcassonne vlog, we really loved making it. Much love, Alison and Darren 💜🤟

    Hi guys, did you know those security gates are to protect the doors from the bulls? 😂😉 I'd never have guessed that, and as you say, it's not in your region where you lived. I dont really know what a bull run is, not entirely sure I want to 😬 Sometimes life gets in the way of travel and content, don't worry about that, I think people are just as interested in how you live your life in a motorhome as they are about the travels and places. Running around trying to find places to print things out, then driving to whatever bank/post office etc you need, is but one of the joys 🤦‍♂️ We envy you and your shower! As we've said before, we do have one, but in reality it's not practical to use. So we do go that ickle bit longer without, however outside of campsites, service stations are surprisingly handy for it, even in the UK. Do you find you have to refill water a lot when you use your shower or is your tank substantial enough? Mind you again, that's another thing - unless youre on a campsite, water is awkward to get in the UK, which is hilarious given we must have more than Spain 🤷‍♂️ It's just not as easily set up for it here, although we did find a free proper aire in Scotland recently after we got home to the UK. Who'd have thunk it! Very annoying when you can't film in certain sites, we've had that recently, which fine okay, it's their rules, but it does rather hamper vlog-making attempts 😂 Still, how we love Spanish prices for attractions compared to here! Poor Bart but glad it was nothing too serious. Dogs are so resilient and don't always show pain or discomfort it seems, which can make it harder to spot things. Safe travels both and hope you find some cool weather. Dan & Stephen xx ❤ P.S - The shot around 13.20 as you walked past someone showering on a beach was unintentionally hilarious, they looked like they were frozen to the spot, I had to question if it was a real person 😂

  • @findingxanadulife
    @findingxanadulife23 күн бұрын

    Hey guys, Nope, we had zero idea that the doors were to stop bulls. We felt really stupid afterwards as it seemed so obvious, but in our defense, our immediate region doesn't have Bull traditions and we've not seen any bull orientated fiestas, we would avoid them. It's great however that the mystery is solved. I'm not sure Darren even thought about recording the flap to find a printer etc. I think we were both just so thrown that the tax had to be paid that day, that all thoughts of everything else went out of the window. 🤷🏼‍♀️ As for showers, it's so much easier in Spain as there are so many free motorhome areas in small villages dotted everywhere that filling up every couple of days if we're travelling isn't a problem. If we're static, we probably empty and refill every 2-3 days depending on how clean we want to be. 🤣🤣🤣 When we were in the UK and not based at my parents house, we had to go much longer between showers. 🤣🤣🪰🪰🪰 We didn't notice the person having a shower in the video. I'll have to have another look. I do hope they didn't freeze because they realised that they were on camera and weren't happy about it. 🥺 If it was the case, they didn't say anything.🤷🏼‍♀️ Thankfully Bart is now fully healed and back to being nosey into everything. This is how he manages to injure himself so often and only makes a fuss if he stands on something sharp or skins his pads on his paws drifting to a stop whilst playing fetch. Bless the little Muppet. Anywhoozle, hope your few weeks work isn't too boring and you can get back to enjoying the countryside soon. Much love from both of us. 😘🥰 💜🤟

  • @comealongdear
    @comealongdear22 күн бұрын

    @findingxanadulife I didn't know about the doors either, I just wanted to chime in with the other comments 🤪😂 It does make us laugh (in a fond way!) how you can guarantee if you have a question or conundrum in a 30 minute video, that will be what people comment on, and then people will repeat it continuously despite it already being answered 😂 I mean that in an affectionate way of course, it happens on our videos too so you find yourself acknowledging the same thing over and over 😂🙃 We do envy your water ease there! In Germany it was simple too, you did often have to pay at aires for water, but we're talking a tiny amount, same with electric, so it was always worth it. And thank you, we are currently starting a now 6 week stint of work but I'm sure it'll be okay. Honestly? It's quite nice to sit still for a bit. There's 3 more Europe videos to come, then about 3 from the UK so we'll only miss a week maximum I think, then there'll be a massive time jump. Confusing, but no other way to do it if we want to release every Sunday. Take care both ❤️🤟

    Haha yes, that does happen and by the time we released the video, we already knew the answer, as someone had commented on our Instagram post, but hey..? To be fair, I don't read the comments on the videos I watch and I doubt Darren does either, it takes too long. 🤣 We very rarely need electricity, but yes, also happy to pay a small amount for it. I'm sure no-one will mind the time jump for your videos, they'll just happily watch along like we do. 🤪 We coped with it after the Portugal trip, we'll cope again. Much love, stay safe. 😘💜🤟

    Morning guys, just catching my breath watching that, as Darren you've reminded me what it feels like to film while walking uphill 😂 Never mind the trip hazards which we also ignore when a camera's in hand 🙈 It's a difficult job multitasking, I think the lungs as well as the brain struggle to keep up 😂. Mind you, its harder for you guys there in the Spanish heat! A satisfying cornucopia of delightful places this week, Castril and that canyon was a never ending wow moment! What a gorgeous village, and then that impressive canyon with the beautiful water. Divine ❤ Always frustrating turning up to a place to find it shut only an hour earlier, or only for that day, especially when the plan is to film 😂🤦‍♂️ I did love the chapel in the cliff. A shame about parts of Villena, but even then you could see how nice it would be if the buildings were restored. Those traditional looking Spanish homes certainly have something about them. Much love both, and onto the next one ❤🤟

    Hey Guys, Breathing and talking whilst climbing steps or a steep slope is never easy, that's why I (Alison) try to stay quiet. For both of us, sometimes just walking, breathing and not tripping over is a task too far. (It's worse for Darren who is the clumsiest) 🤣 We really loved the places we visited in this video. There was always something gorgeous to look at (other than Darren) and again the people were so nice. As for turning up to places that are closed, it serves us right for me not doing my research properly. #MustTryHarder 🤣 There are definitely more jaw dropping places to come...🤪 Much love 😘🥰💜🤟
