Not What We Expected From Motorhome Life In Portugal

In this week's motorhome life video we continue our journey south through Portugal along the way testing Darren´s fear of heights as we walk along an ancient aquaduct, explore a traditional salt producing village , discover the most unique and beautiful seaside village and unexpectedly find ourselves in a Japanese garden.

Morning guys, Alison here. I'm so proud of Darren for pushing himself to overcome his fears again in this video. The aqueduct was really tall. It has taken almost 3 weeks, but the grazes on his arm are finally healed. He now has a battle scar as a permanent reminder of the day. Bless him.🤪 We hope you enjoy the video.😘 Much love 💜🤟

@@findingxanadulife hi Alison, not sure which one is our favourite. We have certainly enjoyed Portugal and you have opened our eyes as to how pretty it is. Elayne my partner lived in Mallorca for years and she is missing it terribly so she enjoys exploring vicariously with you guys each week. I certainly enjoyed the snow episodes as well. We are working our ways through the back episodes too now. Much love Roger and Elayne x

@rogermccartney8720 Good morning Roger and Elayne..! I'm not surprised that you can't choose a favourite, we have visited some amazing places. We've loved Portugal and are sad to leave, but we will definitely be back. We adored Andorra, even though the video didn't do very well. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Sadly for Elayne, I doubt we'll be visiting Mallorca yet, with the current hatred of tourists, but maybe when the world's anger at everything settles down a bit. Enjoy the older videos, try not to cringe at how awkward we both were in front of the camera. 🤣 Would love to hear what you think of them. Much love Alison and Darren 💜🤟

Hi guys, what a fantastic video, so many fabulous Portuguese sights 😍 The viadu- oops I mean aquaduct, looked terrifying and amazing in equal measure, well done Darren for braving that. As much we both would have walked it, that drop on the side without the high wall looked horrifying! Had to do a double take when Darren was hanging off the edge to get down, it looked like you were dropping off the side into nothing 🙈 We both cracked up at Alison readying herself to retrieve the keys off Darren's dead body though...highly practical, we approve 😂 Really enjoyed the salt village section too and all the details that leads to the creation of the salt, absolutely fascinating, especially the wooden locks so the salt doesn't corrode it? Shocked at that as I (Dan) didn't think salt would be so damaging given it's used as a preservative, but then the destructive power of the periodic table was never our strong point (and Stephen quickly corrected me that salt does indeed do that. Oh well, I only got a C in Science, forgive me 🙈). Loved it either way! And wow at that coastal view towards the end, what a place. Less so the price of fish and chips, someone hold Stephen steady! Yikes. Still, very beautiful. Thanks for showing us these places guys, much love ❤🤟

Well guys, I'm ( Alison ) nothing if not practical. I always check that someone can get back to feed the critters if one of us dies. 🤣🤣🤣 Darren's poor arm though. I cringe every time I see the footage. It has taken 3 weeks to heal and he'll be left with a 2"X1" scar to show off when he's relaying his stories in a nursing home. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Salt is the reason that seaside inhabitants cars rust quicker and why we should all clean the underside of them after the gritters have been out. It gave us a real 🤦🏼‍♀️DOH moment when she said about it, although to be fair a lot of the doors now have Yale type locks on them too. You guys would have loved the walk along the cliffs to Azenhas do Mar, as the cliffs themselves are made of millions of fossilised shells. I spent far too long looking at them, Darren threatened to leave me behind.🤣 As for the €17 for kids fish and chips, it was insane. People clearly have more money than sense to pay that. We went back to Perse and had crackers with Ginger and Carrot Hummus. Yum. Safe travels and much love guys.😘 💜 🤟

Oh yikes about the scar, glad he is healing though. I guess it's a permanent souvenir of those crazy days living on the road, a good starting point for a story years down the line. The salt stuff is so obvious I feel ridiculous now! And I dread to think of the price of the adult fish and chips! Currently parked in the black forest and had to do a double take as right next to us was another Perse, with a Spanish number plate! I knew it was unlikely you'd driven here suddenly but we did wonder!

I wonder if it would snow in that Japanese park? But again (saw it later than normal) my Monday started with a holiday feeling and more and more a beginning urge to (re)visit Portugal. On the flickering of the lights .. is your camera set to 50Hz?

Honestly Towah, we haven't got a clue. They do get snow in parts of Portugal and we remember seeing the snow signs on the side of the road, but I think it was further north. If you find out, let us know. 🤔 Darren says yes. He has tried 50Hz and whatever the other setting is, 55Hz or 60Hz maybe..? Which is apparently all our camera is capable of. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Thanks for watching. Much love Alison and Darren 💜🤟
