    So true every time my sleep gets out of whack i start to spiral in an anxiety/depression loop and then i become tired and wired and then its a big challenge to sleep properly. Usually it always starts with one night of staying up late on the weekend and then sleeping in the next day and then its all downhill. Usually the following week is just me trying to get back on track all while dealing with the bad thoughts and anxiety

    I am still trying to recover from my 2nd complete burnout (academic) which happened just over 4 years ago. Daily chronic exhaustion, low brain activity, cognitive issues with basic functions like concentration & memory, & hypersomnia when I crash from chronic exhaustion. I have had depression since 17, anxiety since 20, panic attacks since 21, 1st complete burnout (occupational) at 29 & 2nd complete burnout at 34. I'm now 38 & am only just starting to be able to handle daily domestic tasks & leave the house fortnightly to do errands since my 2nd burnout. I still can't handle social things because it's too draining. I am about to get tested to see if I have chronic fatigue syndrome. There are many factors, including comorbidities, to how long it takes to recover from burnout. Bullying, harassment or other traumas within the work, uni etc. environment that contributed to the burnout also prolong recovery. Also, trying to find a psychologist who understood burnout (workplace stress injury) took forever. I still haven't found a psychiatrist who gets it. My current GP doesn't believe burnout is even a thing so I am now having to look for a GP who does. All & all, getting help & support has not been easy.

    I can’t find anything on KZread that actually explains what heart coherence is. It’s so frustrating. I still do not understand at all what heart coherence is. I could ask my electrophysiologist at my next appointment to show what I need to understand it but there’s not even a video explaining what I would even need to ask her about.

  • @matthatson
    @matthatson11 ай бұрын

    Coherence is essentially a sinewave of HRV measurements that shows that your heart rate is following a smooth pattern of inhalation and exhalation… essentially your heart and lungs are in sync. This has a knock on beneficial effect (via the vagus nerve) on your other organs. Hope that helps and sorry that the video didn’t answer it for you!

  • @PhDFernandoCoach

    The heart rate increases when we inhale and decreases when we exhale. When we breath slowly, deepply and at the right pace (typically around 6 breath per minute), we get "in tune" with ourselves, which is known as resonance frequency (RF). It is unique for each person. At the RF, the heart rate and breathing rate are coherent with each other, and their evolution with time is smooth and well defined. If we breathe at a different rate, such pattern is no longer valid. If we practice the RF for 5 to 20 minutes per day, our emotional resilience improves significantly, and the levels of stress, anxiety and depression are reduced. We developed a system to detect and train the state of peace through heart coherence. Its performance is similar to that of HeartMath's device. In addition, we include other ancient tools to improve the training process, and also a written report after each session is shared with the patient. Hope it helps! @tnijoo5109

    That figures that I'm part of the 80% that still can't fall asleep by slow breathing. However, I did notice that 4-7-8 breathing a few minutes after my regular 5k runs produces an almost instant "runner's high." That was unexpected. Overall, yes... my HRV did improve, but getting to sleep and staying that way is still difficult.

    That’s a fair comment spirited, and of course we never really know what someone else has been through, and there’s no prize for being “the lowest”. Everyone of us who lives long enough to experience life will go through ups and downs, and we are hard wired through evolution to go through it with others. If you’re feeling low, ask for help. We all need help now and then 😀

    I was doing ok at my previous internship, but once things became toxic with my boss and I severely dreaded going into work, i suddenly stopped feeling like myself. Thankfully, the internship was nearing its end already and now im out of there, but now that ive left that war zone im feeling like a shell of myself. Cant feel much of anything. Cant feel connections with people. Am a lot less passionate than i was before. It started to dawn on me that i am probably burnt out. The internship was tide into a 3 year degree, so on top of finishing the internship, i am also finishing 3 years of being in a very stressful masters program. I pushed myself so hard, even through times of not feeling motivated, and will be graduating with high grades, but at the expense of now not feeling like myself. I am doing mindful exercises everyday to help get my emotions back, but its been a slow process. The not being able to feel has been causing me a lot of anxiety. I tried taking one last final OPTIONAL class that would add to my credentials upon graduatung, but I quickly backed out as i realized i needed to put myself first and focus on resting now. It was without a doubt the right decision. All the sudden my anxiety is now through the roof. Panic disorders i thought were gone are now back. Been in recovery for about a month now and hope that things will get better as time goes on.

    So this could be a good thing for insomnia? Since you fell asleep… I have inner balance and after 2 years of prqctice (refused to give up) its much easier now to wind down. But I felt like I needed something more since I have POTS and the more tired I get the harder it is to wind down and fall asleep, even with meds. So after seeing your video on the Xen device I ordered myself one. Cannot wait to try them both together. Thank You for the videos and info! 🙏🤗 Hopefully Ill be able to sleep better soon 🤗

    Inner Balance devices only work with the Heartmath app… they’re not heart rate monitors in the traditional sense like your polar sensors and the like… they’re using HRV for a different purpose.

    WHAT IN THE ACTUAL FRENCH TOAST CRUNCH!?? I did not know this, BUT I figured it out on my own. I have ADHD, combined subtypes and in my study of myself and the condition I came up with my own term: Flash Brain. The Flash zips around as the other characters can see, but when we see his POV everyone is talking, moving, and thinking too slow! He can think as fast as he can run and this is how I equate our symptoms. We are mentally too quick and we have all these intrusive thoughts that make us forget and miss things. My trick to get myself to slow down to real time is to think of a slow song in the "tempo of life", so to speak? Then I will either count and or pat my leg to that tempo while inhaling/exhaling. Almost immediately, I involuntarily release a long sigh! Then I notice how calm and slowed down I become. This is great to know.
