Why is the essence of a car so high what's it up there for because the tires are too wide and it won't fit inside the wheel wells

Nice one today! How does torsion bar front end height affect it? If it’s up high does it Also help or hurt? If I’m not mistaken you can get inches up from stock with torsion bars adjustment right? Thanks in advance for dealing with my crazy questions lol.

I have a 74 Duster with a mild 440 with a manual valve body 727. I've never drag raced an automatic and have very little drag racing experience. What would you suggest is the best way to launch it? As far as I know, it doesn't have a billet drum.

Hey Joe, unfortunately perfectly good-looking cinder blocks have been known to mysteriously break and collapse under such conditions, good to use some jack stands along with that setup also, thanks for video!

Old Lakewood Ladder bars, that's what we called em back in the 70's. They were yellow when new, and would bind if not set up right. There was also a spring perch/pivot and/or a roller pivot that allowed the axel housing to slightly rotate. I probably saying what has been already said...
@WildAzzRacing2 сағат бұрын
Not sure if it's the same setup but that rear looks like one I remember and you had to float the axle on the springs with a special box that keeps the axle centered on it.

Great video Joe, really key things you can do to improve your car in this video. I’ve got my notepad out. I have a quick question. I bought a 3500 stalk converter, now it’s not stalling at all. I put 456 gears in and my 60 foot times did not improve. Does this sound like I have the wrong converter or a bad one? My carburetor and timing looked pretty good, my plugs look great. I just can’t seem to get this card to launch. Any info would be greatly appreciated as usual thanks, Joe.

Just to add to this awesome video series. It's like you are peeling back an onion, as I am getting to see what happened to it and how it went through life before dad bought if for me in 1986. We were the 2nd owner as my dad bought it from the deceased owners estate. I have all of the original paperwork including the original Bill of Sale. Never knew about how bad that lower valence really was until you showed it. The dirt you see under there is from living on gravel roads in rural North Texas as we lived out in the country. I think the factory undercoat also helped save it from excessive rust. I later found out that the original owner committed suicide in this car after losing his wife. He had closed the garage door and left the car running. His cigar ashes were still in the ashtray when I opened it up after getting the car. Sometimes we refer to her as Christine. If you start hearing some 50's Rock in Roll music coming from inside you might want to run.......

Just wondering if you've ever done any of the oil mods (drilling the block in various places), like the ones Herb McCandless did? If so, were the results positive? And, thanks for all your videos - they have really helped me, as I'm doing my first 400 now.

Ugh! Dodge truck drum brakes. I remember those days with my truck. One could open your door and drug your foot and it stopped faster. You had about 1.5 stops before they faded into the distance. I converted to disc in the front around '89. Being a W-100 (Power Wagon) with a Dana 44 in the front... I used a Chevy caliper mount/ caliper... Ford hub and rotor. Yep... it works and bolted right on to this day.

Hey fellas. Thanx for sharing. Started breaking my fresh 360 in tonight. Question please, a few header tubes got real hot and red, did I see that on yours also? I set the timing at 2400 RPM to app 32 deg. Adjusted timing timing between 30-38 degrees while breaking in, a few middle cylinder headers still red hot. So I shut it down and started checking shit, can't find anything wrong. Opinion please?
