1972 Dodge D100: Sure Grip is a Sure Thing!
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
The clock is ticking on getting this truck to the racetrack! Ryan @StreetCarChronicles is hosting a race on April 27th called the Tailgate Throwdown. I promised him if he’s coming to race in my neck of the woods, then I’ll have a truck there, to compete!
In this video, I get some help from @rickseeman5679 swapping in a 4.10 sure grip chunk that’s on loan from @talljohnsfunshop2722! What else will take place? You gotta watch it to believe it.

You’re making great progress and planning ahead like maybe you’ve done this before 😂. That center section did put up the fight of the century, made you put your purse down🤣🤣🤣! Boy o boy-I will definitely be using that one at the next appropriate time! What impressed me the most with this video tho…is how in the world you stayed clean rolling around under that truck! Hey Buddy!
Its funny you asked for a jack to break that diff loose considering i JUST used that trick not but a few days ago! Inversely I have come to be a true believer in doing that same thing to rock the replacement into place with a single nut holding the bottom in. I was always taught to do the top and drop it like you had done here but there is something funky with the 489's that makes them like shit backwards. I can't wait for the day you reskin those box sides! I might finally have the chance to give YOU advice for a change :) (btw great suggestions on locating paint, oreilly/napa dont sell it for automotive anymore, at least here)

@cjm5002

@@jackwells1452 Well, if you get a choice between the 741 or 742 then the the 42 is a lot better. Most people ignore the 489 because they are trying to keep the clutch suregrip. 489 uses a cone style BUT you can swap the clutch style in and have a lot of various improvements. So you're not wrong my friend! Its a very common overlooked solution. Dr Diff offers complete conversion kits too.

All that funk in the cowl is also down the vent doglegs so get in there with the vac and get that out. My 100 spits shit at me and its been vacuumed out a lot and it still spits crap out. Dirt in your eyes sucks. Love the idea on not hacking the box and will adapt that to mine too. I have a perfect box too. Lines through the box and the pump underneath works for me. I have my battery box and my wet nos tank and not sure where my nos bottle is going yet. In the cab or back there. I do like to have the fire ball behind me lol. So how is that ever going to hook up with the axle under the springs it wont weight transfer and the torque will toss the box up instead of pull it down. Or did i miss a step. Curious on how your going to going to control the rearend wrap up too. Slapper bars dont work they go the opposite way with rearend twist and go down not up. I know 50 questions lol. Oh and what shaft are you cutting down. B body shaft. I was told to use that one. Undesided yet. Stock on is pretty small tube. One these days we need to talk lol glad to see progress as the clock it tickin son. Its the 23rd. O
