Berm Peak

Berm Peak

I'm Seth, and Berm Peak is my backyard!

We're turning my backyard into a super miniature downhill mountain bike park, and making family-friendly video content in the process.

In Berm Peak's shop, we work on bikes, build new ones, and share the love with the mountain bike community through our parts bin.

Whether you enjoy bikes, the outdoors, or simply like watching our content, we hope you'll visit Berm Peak on a regular basis.

Shocks, wheels, front forks seem to have clear standardized dimensions to make updating a bike easy... what about rear sprockets? what online stores are good for parts??

Its weird i never wore a helmet skate boarding or bmxing 90's / early 2000s, unless I was at a skate park. I did wear it for saftey but didnt feel like i was doing dangerous enough outside the skatepark. Yet ive never snowboarded without a helmet. Last year I got a new bike and started cycling on the road frquently and made the decision to get a helmet. The prices almost scared me off but a found a decent helmet for $100 and its very breathable and comfortable. I never go without.

Might be able to help the center of gravity with a smaller front wheel or larger rear if possible. Might not be great for performance but what kind of performance are you expecting from such a bike ?

You don't loose the ability to ride a bike well because it's a feeling instead a skill.

1:43 my practice tip you can do anywhere you ride even in the city, use the sidewalk curbs lip to practice the momentum and movement to get up and over objects, practice makes perfect and theres somany things you can use to practice on, you just have to see it.

I feel like this is so much of what I was feeling and thinking (a skill that returns when you get rid of chronic scrolling) about Social Media expressed in words! It takes away control, uses the illusion of sharing interests and education to show you things that you don't care about in the least and tries to polarize you based on the limited interests it figures out enrage you the most.

i got my e-bike for pulling a little trailer, where i live there are some big elevation changes between villages and even the closest city is 90 m below. If i want to do a slow trip somewhre and get an ice ore something else without spreading my sweat everywhere and feel unkomforatble, i take my e-bike.

I love them. I have only 1 rule. You must be over 50 years to get one. Under 50 -> get in shape. Still got 20 years to go without e-bike. Also i feel mountains should be earned. And the hard terrain was kind of protection against masses. Now there is a lot of people on the mountains that should not be there and just make a mess (loitering) and being just loud (bluetooth speakers).

Its true, if it's not a requirement in the Pro Scene, no one will put it on. Today people put on helmets because they are part of the gear and if you don't wear one you look like a noob. Like wearing normal T-shirt and short pants to the Bike Park and not "real Bike Brand 100$+ sport wear". It's like wearing normal shoes and not "flat pedal bike shoes". How do you even have a grip on your pedals without Stealth Rubber. Do normal rubber even stick to super sharp screws? I wear my helmet all the time. I even have a different one for Road bike and MTB. I don't want other riders to thing of me as a noob. But when I get out to ride to work and do 12000 km every ear just for my work commute, I don't give a helmet what other riders think of me not having a helmet or having a cap. Because a Cap actually protect you from the Rain more then a helmet. When you ride in -15 C you will not be riding your 200$ MTB or your 500$ Road Bike princess dresses. You will be wearing any thing, just anything that keeps you alive in that case based on your years of experimenting with different gear.

What is the exact reasoning for disallowing the e-bikes from the trails? I cannot see any objectively measurable "bad" from the that would make sense. Weight and weight induced damage to the trails is not it, because then you'd have weight limits on traditional riders too and fats not allowed. It's not the fact that due to its weight it's harder to handle and not necessarily as agile as traditional bike, because that would deny noobs from participating. Sure, trail specific limitations could make sense on that metric, but not a blanket denial from the whole park. Fire hazard doesn't sound particularly reasonable either.
