    I've been using one in the CD player forever, but lately it's becoming loose and falling out. 😢 I tried a similar one to the clamp one you recommend, but you have to squeeze it open to grab the phone, which my tiny hands are just unable to do. I'm not quite sure about the particular one you have, but I may give it a try... Thx! ❤❤❤

    Hahaha we have two keys that this has happened to...we bought ywo replacement fobs as we thought it was going to be easy.... Wrong...the bloody original is a sealed unit....ended up having to cut it open with a Dremel to get the board out...what a bloody pain in the arse...this looks like the easier way to go about it.

    I recently had my car restored at Defenders Northwest LLC., but unfortunately, the service was far from satisfactory. Despite paying a significant amount of money, the work was delayed by several days without any explanation, and when I finally received my car back, the final result was disappointing. To make matters worse, some of the parts were still not working properly. When I contacted the shop about these issues, they were dismissive and unhelpful, leaving me feeling frustrated and angry. If you're considering car restoration services, I strongly advise against choosing this shop. Save yourself the time, money, and hassle by choosing a more reliable and trustworthy service provider.

    In the states is different you will have to turn on the ignition then you will have to turn the light on (do not leave it on Auto lights), you have 10 sec to flash your bright lights five times then you have to press the brakes three times and wait about 20 seconds until the battery light flashes about three times then your BMS is set

    I just tackled this job and thought I would raise a point that I can't remember if you covered (sorry I watched the video last night and don't remember so maybe you did say this). The light unit is poorly designed. The final inch of the red plastic part is very easy to snap off when levering out the unit against the final clip. OK if you take care but of course you might not realise the first time. Whoever had my car before had done this and glued the broken piece back in place. Main issue is that it leaves the unit vulnerable to rain and crap getting in, so I will be sealing mine with some silicone. Once the broken bit is back in place it looks fine (I didn't notice it until I removed the lamp assembly myself).

  • @FF04ORD
    @FF04ORDАй бұрын

    Thanks for the comment. Yes mine is the same on the other side. Someone has glued it. It’s an easy thing to break by mistake

  • @zvonko92
    @zvonko9210 күн бұрын

    Unfortunately I can confirm this, I broke mine today on 2015 mk3.5 with 200.000 km and glued it (I tried to apply glue generously inside where red plastic meets gray plastic so hopefully it is sealed ok). The last clip was so stuck that it felt like another screw was there (this was probably the first time it was removed as I bought the car in early 2019). I wiggled it for good 5 minutes and of course it released only after that red plastic snapped 🤦‍♂ poorly designed indeed.

    You'll get there with practice and have a really high quality product there! There is a demand for such things. Its your time in designing them that people don't see when they see the price. That is the problem in selling anything youve made - people only see the price... not how much time it took to make them!

  • @FF04ORD

    I have a Mk3 hatchback. My boot in now leaking like a sieve. My local garage can't repair it and Ford won't take responsibility. They have spot welded it during manufacturing and are saying it's been in an accident, which it hasn't.

  • @FF04ORD

    Where is it leaking

  • @LiamR90
    @LiamR902 ай бұрын

    The annoying thing is that Ford always say the car looks like it's been in an accident previously that's why the leak has occurred. They say this because it removes their liability and because they can see its been spot welded. When in fact, it's them that have done the welding when it was being manufactured.

    Defender Northwest LLC. Gig Harbor, WA, A local Car Restoration Shop. I'm extremely dissatisfied with their communication. I've been waiting for several weeks to receive the necessary parts, which they have to order from another source. They haven't given me any timeline for when the work will be finished, and they are not responsive to my texts or phone calls. This level of customer service is unacceptable!

    The 1.6/1.5 are different engines. If you only do 3k a year your engine will be clogging up with carbon etc as only doing start stop journeys. Diesel need roughly ideally no less than single 25/30 mile drives. Especially the 2.0 the 1.5 would be better for small trips and little useable tbh

    @@FF04ORD actually mate the 1.6 and 1.5 would suffer the same on short journeys and its the deisels fitted with the dreadful dpf that suffer and thats due to the fact the conmen who thought up the dreadful idea of fitting a wallet draining device that captures soit only to release it elswhere fitted these things diesels prior to common rail and dmf were so long lasting and lenth of journey only effected mpg due obviously to the time it takes to get a big deisel warm i wouldnt get the 1.6 or 1.5 my last one was a mk2 1.6 estate and it was underpowered also the dv6 engine is shite.
