The Ricky Gervais Show XFM archive. I'm adding proper transcripts to the subtitles, It's taking ages but we'll have a proper archive once it's done. I'm adding full track listings and links to the tracks too.
If you're feeling flush and you'd like to buy Man Moth a Twix, you can do so here: www.buymeacoffee.com/manmoth or head over to www.man-moth.com/ where I've made a load of rubbish that's now for sale.

Tattoostan, that's a province in Russia isn't it?
I loike a bit of Kant.
‘Not dog people, they’re human beings….’
he cant say david bowie properly
21:00
One of the all-time great episodes.
I feel like Karl is very different in these than in the Ricky Gervais show. This feels like his true self and maybe on RGS it’s a slightly exaggerated character. People swear that’s actually how he is but I’m not so sure
stepping into ETM/ETA territory with those balloons
Iz it coz I iz hairy!?
The impressions kill me xD 1 of the best episodes imho. Hearing about their early gigs and overall, a cheery day. Tights and cigars for everyone! PS - I bet lighthouse keepers get knackered from walking up the steps to turn the light on.
I Tried to put these Up my Channel was cancelled
Does Karl think, that cats or dogs or whatever, drink from saucers, because they like it, so a dog child would stand up, fill a saucer with milk, and sit at the table or on the ground, or does he think that they must drink from a saucer because the aritocats did, and the dog childs parents do it because they are a dog and cant do it themselves? As if its genetic that humans only use cups. My cats use cups
It's good to have a flat head in india 🇮🇳
Do the only ones have an enduring legacy matching Dire Straits? Jesus...
I'll have to move you there Sir.....neeeeeeeeoooooooowwwwwww
1:54 Love how they say later in the episode that’s the most homophonic thing said on the show when they said the exact same thing 😂
He got hairy
Can anyone please tell me what on earth Ricky is doing from 53:40 😂
Does anyone here ski????
You know where that comes from, right in the olden days, and im talkin ages ago, right when you really loved something as a sign of respect, like say a radio show, you'd count your feet, and thats where that comes from Karl. 41:20
20:30
Karl seems properly sick of it here
I love how Karl missed that little Russia episode in his Hitler biography.
2024 and the toilet conversation is too scarily accurate of the real world we now live in
"Famine Academy". Fucking brilliant. I have to say, I am a fan of coming up with the name based on a pun then working out the premise later.
Claire and steve bounce off eachother so well, wouldve made a great item😂
48:32 when Karl’s trying to tell the story and Ricky and Steve ignore him is honestly my favorite part from these shows.
That's not cryptic, that's shiiiiiiiiit Still here and listneing in 2024
Ah so its pronounced gervay 😅
Im feeling a bit groggy 🥴
When Karl talks about his family it always makes me think of the TV show Shameless
Hearing the MTV person laughing at Herman’s Hermits is so funny for some reason lol
The appearance of the Great Pilkoni 😂
RG is why workers like KP need union representation.
Karl has told the story about Ken before but he said it was him not his dad that says it.
Aren't tomato's known for being alkali? You can feed them to female dogs to neutralise the acid pee to stop the grass getting burned out
19:42 poor joke Steve
I've Listened to EVERYTHING these guys did. Need new gems to find. Heard all the rare interstitials on spotify, heard the rare moments tapes, series 0, covid podcasts, Steves bbc stuff, the steve show, Steve on 6Music, the Simon n Nick tapes from Edinburgh fest, all of it. everything. Can anyone recommend anything rare i may not have Listened to???
Karl didnt think using a pole as leverage as a tourniquet to spread pressure equally, is not useful. But that if you throw bricks out of a shopping cart, you move thw other way, he was glad to know.
Whenever I listen to this episode, I almost wish I could retroactively email in to explain to Karl just how horrendous tonsillitis is. Steve doesn’t stand up for himself enough here. People think it’s just a “sore throat” which just doesn’t encompass how absolutely miserable it is. My chronic-tonsillitis PTSD has been triggered
Because that wouldn't be impressive enough.
The early ones were a lot more charming than the later episodes lol. They all had more energy to them and they made an effort to be more entertaining.
Forget them in Iceland
I wonder if Absolution and Black Holes and Revelations changed their minds on Muse
11:30 How is this not on Gta Radio , it would easily fit right in...
29:50 crazy that I’m currently working in Mansfield listening to this show 22 years later
I was in hospital for a few months just before I turned 19, got told about Karl by a friend and these shows kept me sane throughout that time. I'm 31 now and still listen every night
Ricky's comment at 15:08 about Jordan was something I always thought as a teenager. Jordan was one of the few Middle Eastern countries I remembered as a kid, and a model having such a name (I didn't know the term "stagename"), always struck me as weird.
I wish I listened back in the day so I could send in a ridiculous story for Karl to believe 😂
27:02 "I really admire your big fanny?" Lmfao
