It’s unfortunate that much of the church has forgotten this rich architectural wisdom, while government buildings along with Islam took it up.

@JonathanPageau I'd love for you to do some analysis of Gothic architecture in the terms of its own builders and defenders as one of the most distinctly and uniquely of Christian styles of architecture: namely, in the pointing upward to heaven, the Latin cruciform structure (reflecting the human shape), the considerations of light and moving of iconography to windows, etc. The Christian adopting and elevating of pagan Roman forms of the square and circle is obviously a beautiful and worthy subject of contemplation, but the development of architectural theology in the thoroughly and exclusively Christian imagination to the Gothic forms surely must deserve some reflection as well?

It was a Catholic priest who said that it is the mother who prepares the bride for the marriage. Also, the queen in the old testament was the mother. There are so many layers to Mary's importance. Even more so because she is kept veiled in utter modesty. She is the ultimate example of quiet strength, there was no other way for her but to embody that wisdom of God. She said yes and undid the no of Eve. Through her the saviour of us all, all of humanity is born. How holy does someone have to be to qualify as the vessel of God into this world? I used to think as a protestant in the past, when I didn't understand some of this multidimential nature of Christianity. And yet I know Mary came into my life and she was at least a part of my turning to Christ our Lord. If we love God, we love all whom God loves. As Christians we are reborn into a huge heavenly family, and Mother of Our Lord is a beautiful part of the family.

Not Orthodox, but isnt antichrist usually interpreted as the ape of Christ? So these symbols may have similarities to Christian symbolism but are mere facsimiles, an attempt of antichrist to be seen as Christ.

Just last night I read pope Benedict’s encyclical Spe Salvi - In Hope we are saved - it bowled me over to hear Paul describe how his baptism as a Christian in the Shannon river in Ireland has radically changed his life, put him in a transitional stage in his life. He so beautifully expresses what Benedict states in the very second paragraph of his encyclical…” the gospel is not merely a communication of things that can be known - it is one that makes things happen and is life changing “
