Just did the knocks sensor on my 2009 Hyundai accent was not a 30 minute job maybe because I have two fat of arms had to remove the two support brackets that hold the intake manifold to be able to have enough room to install the sensor. thanks for the info.

I fix quite a few different cars anf trucks. I can honestly say I am no longer a chevy guy after working on them. Chevy uses outdated steering systems on the silverados and don't get me started getting the rear drums apart. Ford and dodge have axcess holes so you can adjusts the shoes to remove the drums with ease. Not chevy. Oh no the adjusters are behind the axel hub and you have 0 access to them untill the drum is pulled and pryed off of the metal to metal shoes....fuck chevy.

Came across your video from Eric O. at SMA. I watched it about a year ago. Thought it was very thorough, and simply put. Keeping it as simple as possible is always a good thing. Watching it again now, because I have an 03 S10 4.3 with a 449 code. My first check also is always the vent solenoid. Was cycling it on/off and initially was working fine. Til eventually it started acting up, rapid cycling, and unresponsive to commands. I assumed faulty solenoid and replaced it. Initial tested showed working fine, and during the purge/seal test would pull down a vacuum to almost 5 volts and slowly deplete after going back into system seal. After a road test and monitor test, light is back on for 449. After cycling solenoid on/off several times, it fails to respond. I'm assuming the ground side circuit (pcm) is possibly not functioning correctly. After the car sits for a while, I attempted purge/seal test again. It responded and showed expected results. Went to evap vent solenoid and commanded on/off again. And it was responding normally. Any suggestions? Using Autel Maxisys Elite.

Unfortunate that you didn't show the new CAT unboxed and placed beside the existing one to compare differences. It appears that the CAT is passive in that it is not powered and has no moving parts; the essential part is basically a small diameter screen (approx 3") that should be designed to be easily removed to clean or replace... instead of replacing the ENTIRE unit.

What if I jumpered the wires and left tge connector plugged into the module. so it would send a signal back to pcm and not would set off a code? Just asking because my fuel pump was shut off using remote connection via computer and nobody will sell me one without a remote connection so they can cause my truck to become disabled and make me spend a bunch of money trying to fix stuff thats not broken.

Thank you I really enjoy the the method of developing understanding before diving into testing. this way you unlocked a couple of blocks I had and I was able to be in a position to diagnose with you at the end of Part 3. I suppose you could open the cover of plug A for the ECM and back probe pin 45 & 58 and insert plug A back into ECM and test it? I a fan Go GOTECH!!!

Great video, Question: my kid ran her 05 4runner out if oil. Not sure for how long. But it started to throw P0345 and P0345. After a full oil change service I pulled both cam sensors. The driver side had a thin groove. Seeing your video it is clearly being hit by the sensor wheel on front of crank sprocket as pointed out on video 33:24. After replacing both sensors one of the two codes went away. The other im guessing is that side with the damaged sensor. Could that wheel pickup have become loose due to no oil pressure? Im dreading doing this service. Albeit pretty mechanically inclined. Any insight is appreciated thank you
